Roadside coffee huts are one of my favorite features of the pacific northwest. They’re all pretty cheap, they have some snacks, the typical cappuccino menu, and some friendly lady slinging coffee with a smile.(I don’t know why there are never dudes serving coffee from the huts.) This hut – The Java Joint – is right up there with the best because they do take credit cards, they give you a chocolate-covered coffee bean with your coffee, and the people working here are always chipper and chatty. I frequently stop in here for a caffeine infusion on my trip between Bellingham and Seattle, and it hits the spot every time.
