I have very long, wavy, and thick hair that many are clueless on what to do with. John is amazing, wasn’t intimidated at all ! He worked some magic on my hair.
He loves and is a master at what he does. He walks you through every bit of the haircut, from the very beginning to the end. I love the fact that he gives you advice on how to style, which product to use, and how to use those products. You’re never rushed and he takes the time for you. My appointment lasted almost 2 hours but it didn’t feel like at all.
He is currently not take any new clients right now but definitely go see John when he does!

Love the magic John can do to my hair. He is the best hair stylist I have ever encounter. If you want beautiful hair go to see him you will be shocked on what he can do.

Enjoyed my haircut experience from John. I got really lucky that he had a cancellation a day after I inquired about making an appointment. He was on time and introduced himself. He listened to what I would like to do with my hair, my concerns, made me feel comfortable and explained to me what and why he’s applying certain products. He spent an hour and a half for a haircut!!! Who does that??? John does. His passion shows in how he treats his customers. Everyone loved my new hair!!! I just moved to TX from Chgo and after having worked in the beauty industry for over 16 yrs… I absolutely will not go to any other stylist while living in this state. He is AWESOME! I found him through Unilocal and Facebook. The reviews don’t lie. Scheduling was simple and he was even able to accommodate me by getting into a earlier date and time. 45 min drive was def worth it to see John. Really nice guy, but… He is bad a$$ when it comes to hair and I’m pretty picky. He washes your hair and massages your scalp. But really massages it not half asses it like other salons. He teaches you how to wash your hair properly, what products to use, when and where to condition it with the Moroccan oil hair line. My hair turned out just the way I had imagined it to and it was all thanks to John. He even took pix and texted them to me :)
Keep in mind, the guy is super busy ladies… his phone was going off non-​stop! So be patient with him waiting on his replies

My lady is a regular customer here. She never needs an appointment and they always do good work. I love how they leave her hands and nails. They do a Great job!

John is absolutely the best, a true artist! He really takes the time to explain not just what he’s doing with your hair but WHY and how so that you can recreate his look at home. I found him here on Unilocal after a bad haircut elsewhere, and because of his amazing reviews I decided to give him a try… And I’m so glad I did! He actually took my disappointing «Dudley Moore» («this is how he wears it») haircut, and he transformed it into something that I got compliments on all the time. Since then, I’ve never gone anywhere else, and I’m always thrilled with John’s work!

Amazing stylist! He knew exactly what I wanted to do with my hair and I am very well pleased with my hair. He thoroughly talked me through everything he was doing to my hair and the purpose for it. I will definitely go see him again! I definitely recommend! Best hairstylist I’ve ever had! He took his time and made sure everything came out the way I wanted it to!

Today was my first time coming to John and basically did the impossible to my hair and also informed me about a lot, from how to keep my hair nice and Healthy to maintaining my hair. I’m so glad I found John this past year! He’s down to earth and very knowledgable about the products and techniques. I decided to have my hair colored for the first time on my 2^nd visit (I was very nervous), but he was patient enough to explain the process and how to keep my hair healthy afterwards. It never feels like he’s rushing. He’s worth the investment because my hair looks great when he does his magic.

Its my 2^nd time coming in and having John do my hair and it coming out so fabulously! I had a late night John after setting my appointment up on
(which is btw super easy to sign up and get an appointment done). I came 5 minutes before my appointment as he is with another client. John was running a bit late but still took care of me.
I was the last client he saw for the day. During my reglaze the shop closed! However he continued to work on my hair and took the time to explain everything regarding coloring, hairstyling, to even the products being put in my hair. I learn so much each visit. I could’ve been the last client for him to try and work through so that he can end his night early. Nope, not a chance! John was very thorough from everything he did, even my hair cut. I made sure to tell him that I wanted my bangs cut a bit short and he did it (not without making sure that I understood I had to maintain it well). He shaped my hair again since I had a bad cut from a previous hairdresser. I enjoyed my time with him and by the end of the night my red/​violet ombré was refreshed and I was sporting my bangs and fab hair!
He’s literally my one and only stylist. The work he does is phenomenal! Make sure to go in and consult with him for what you really want. Bring pictures. John takes special consideration in what YOU want. Go and get your hair cut by John!

This was my second time coming to John for hair color. I was so impressed with my first visit a year ago that I had to go back. I was making a pretty drastic change in my hair color from brunette to red (balayage style/​ombré style) and only trusted him to do it. As expected, he did an AMAZING job and I couldn’t be more pleased! He is a great stylist and can deliver anything you want! Thanks so much John! I can’t stop looking at my hair! :)

John really cares about his clients… and would be clients! After seeing his amazing reviews here, I tried him when I landed a last minute meeting and needed a cut in a pinch. Though he was booked, he reached out to his colleague at 11pm on a Friday night and arranged an appointment for me for the next morning to ensure I was taken care of! Really above and beyond for a perfect stranger. Can’t wait to become a client of this awesome dude!

John is an awesome hair stylist, the best I’ve been to. He actually listened to what I wanted and consulted with me on what I wanted. Was very friendly and explained each step he performed, from washing, to cut, styling, and hair care as this was my first time. He even curled/​styled my hair free of charge! The hair wash was super relaxing and felt awesome with the massage. Initially I just wanted a trim, but when I got into the chair I was really bored with the how long it was so we cut off 3 – 4 inches! The blow dry made my hair super shiny and soft. He was able to fit me in last minute the next day; great customer service. He recommended products that he used during the session.
John was really knowledgable about what he was doing so I wasn’t afraid he was going to screw up my hair. The way he talks is super calm and soothing so the session was chill. Really affordable, for wash, cut, and style it was ~$ 45.
The hair salon is in the back of the nail salon so look out for that (I had never been to a salon like that), but the lady in front was nice enough to tell me.

John did an awesome job cutting my daughters hair. He did exactly what I asked him to do and I love that he gave her so many tips while he was styling her. He talked to her about how to keep her hair looking healthy and shiny.

John is the best hair stylist I’ve ever been to. I’ve had my hair cut at fancy salons a few times before in San Diego, San Francisco, and even Japan but John blew me out of the water with his skills. A day before I had my appointment his assistant texted me asking me to send pictures of the hairstyle I wanted — I mean, who does that? A perfectionist, that’s who!
He spent a good 1.5 — 2hrs on my hair, educating me on which shampoos and styling products to use to get my hair looking amazing everyday (it’s been two weeks and my hair continues to looks and feel better than it ever has).
He is also just super easy and fun to talk to, I really enjoyed his carefree personality but his super artist’s touch to hair. Highly highly recommend him; his phone went off multiple times during our appointment so I imagine a good chunk of people have already caught on that he’s an amazing hair stylist.
Prices are comparable to high end salons (~$ 55 for a ladies wash, cut, & style).

I know john from my friend, and he recommend him to me. I am Asian and it is really hard to find a guy who can give a fit hair style, John does a good job I really enjoy my hair now, the shampoo is great and you will feel real comfortable after washing.
