Le Touche

I am reluctant to have to write such a negative review but I feel like I need to warn others from having the experience I did.
I went at the recommendation of a friend to get a blow dry. At $ 35 it’s just like most places so I figured I would give them a try.
First of all I made an appointment and she was 30 min late. As I waited I noticed how disorganized and dirty this place is. They try to sell you on everything, «oh why dont you do your nails?, how about eyebrows?» It’s a really negative vibe in there and should have left. I was pressed for time and was so late to my next appointment because of her. I never imagined it would take 1.5 hrs for a blow dry.
The wash was good but the washing stations are so dirty and old.
But what bothers me the most and makes me want to cry is that she told me she needed to «trim» some random pieces of hair to make the blow out look even. She showed me a section where some dead ends were sticking out and pointed to what she would cut… she showed me barely ¼ of an inch that was sticking out. I was ok with her «trimming some pieces that may have grown out since my last hair cut but what she did next is a total betrayal of trust. My hair was wet. She combed it back then grabbed it in a pony tail, and CUT inches off my hair!!! I wanted to cry and run at that point but the damages was done and due to my bad back I needed someone to dry it. I had a modern cut that kind of U shapes in the back and with her straight across cut I now look like a teenager who can’t afford a hair cut. It ruined my cut and now I’ll have to have my guy fix it and spend more money and time to have my hair grow back.
I should have waited to see my hair guy at a famous salon in DC who is a master at modern hair cuts but his blowouts are $ 75. For being cheap with a blow out I ruined a $ 200 haircut. She obviously could not understand more modern cuts or how to style them as she mistook random pieces as irregular.
Lesson is to trust your intuition and speak up. I should have said «no it’s okay if it doesn’t look good or let’s see after it dries». And to the person that cut my hair, please don’t ever cut someone’s hair again who just wants a blow dry!!!
I didn’t want to cause a scene and she was nice in her personality which unfortunately make me trust her. And it’s like spilled milk. Once it’s done it’s done. I’ll just never go back. If I can prevent one person from having an experience like mine, my pain will not have been in vain.

This review is only for eyebrow threading with Manisha, which is the only service I’ve gotten here. She’s so sweet and efficient, and does a great job. I highly recommend her services!

Place it’s big and clean that’s very important, when it comes to do your nails done and hair. Nice prices as well.

The woman who did my nails was very cheerful and friendly but I’m sure she does not speak any English. I asked for a gel manicure and she gave me a regular manicure. I had to ask for another coat when the nail polish wasn’t fully covering my nail.
I asked for a French pedicure and after repeating myself numerous times I pointed to a picture of French nails and she got it.
Again, she was very smiley so I feel bad but I really feel like I just had a flashback to middle school and asked a friend to do my nails. They came out sloppy and uneven. Then when she finished she just walked away and took a new client. Ok? Bye? Thanks? Nothing? I was hoping they would be better since they are so close but sadly I will not be back. Don’t need to spend $ 50 for something I can do myself.
P. s. Dear management, have your employees keep their work station clean, the place looks like a dump.

I stopped by here for a last minute pedicure before picking up my daughter from daycare. Pros: good massage chair, nice polish, attentive (aka long) pedicure and clean equipment. Cons: the woman giving me my pedicure cut down the sides of my toenails in a strange way, but I didn’t notice too much because I was relaxing in a toddler free moment. The major con, however, is that within 7 days three of my toenails had the polish peel off completely! Like in a small sheet, as if it weren’t attached in the first place. Although the price was reasonable at $ 25, I pay that amount at most salons and have my pedicure last close to a month. I will stick with my trusted locations from now on.

Sade is the best stylist. Hands down. I’ve been going to her for 3yrs. She is very creative and her hands are magic on a scalp.

I’m satisfied but I will not be coming back. I had to wait a whole hour to get my nails done. Also the work and process was very sloppy. Normally the lady doing my nails always checks to see if each nail looks alike. Here, they barely checked. They were very nice but the nail work was not my favorite.

Go to Manisha for eyebrow threading she is the sweetest and really great at what she does. I’m new to the area and I’m so glad I found her! I also got a mani and pedi there once and they did a great job.

They’re pretty pushy with the upselling. Constantly asking if we wanted an extra service. It wasn’t the fastest pedi I’ve ever gotten but overall can’t complain.

I went in for a haircut today. Vicki did an excellent job on my hair. The young lady that shampooed my hair gave a lovely unexpected scalp massage that calmed my frazzled nerves from my morning. I love my hair cut and I feel confident in saying I’ve found my local salon!

I tried this salon after reading the good reviews and was not impressed. I even went back hoping for better service. My first visit was for a hair cut and when I arrived (after making an appointment), it took them several minutes to decide who was going to cut my hair, then they rushed me off for a wash without asking me what I wanted done with my hair. The hair cut was ok, Vicky was nice. I came back for a mani/​pedi and she nicked me on the pedi and the polish job was shoddy. The polish on the manicure chipped within a few hours.

I’ve only had my threading done here and Manisha is great! As an Indian woman, I’ve been to a lot of threaders and she was one of the best I’ve been to. Her prices are reasonable and she does a great job in cleaning and shaping. She also applies rose water at the end. It’s easy to pop in and see her. She does it fast but gentle and I love that I can walk there from home. Call ahead to confirm her hours and availability, which typically are 10−6÷7 during the weekdays.

this is one of the best salons in south arlington. not to pricey as there are other salons in clarendon, shrlington. Very frendly and fast staff. I come here to get hair removal and cut. biggest problem sometimes they are busy so always call and make sure the person you want is there and book an appointment.

Amazing experience for the price. I used to go to Hair Cuttery and after the last two experiences caused me to leave in tears, I decided I needed to branch out. Le Touch is amazing! They didn’t manhandle my hair or yank out clumps. Vicki handled my hair with skill and care.

I decided to walk around the Pike and stumbled upon Le Touché. Why not get a manipedi? I strolled in and was greeted by friendly women who spoke little English, but did the best they could. ‘A’ for effort. The pedicure was great and lasted for over a week. Sadly, my manicure was not as great and the paint chipped off the next day. The nail polish I picked out for my manicure looked rather old. I’d suggest they update their nail polish and colors.
All in all, I would definitely come back for a pedicure and an opportunity to brush on up on my Spanish! :) Gracias!

I had a manicure, pedicure and one-​hour massage after receiving an Amazon/​Living Social coupon as a gift. When I called to make my appointment for a Sunday, I was told that they only accepted the vouchers Monday-​Wednesday (though I didn’t see that listed on the voucher, and my husband, who purchased the voucher, didn’t recall seeing that when he bought it). But the woman on the phone allowed me to use it for services on a Sunday anyway, which I appreciated. (I was also told on the phone that the price for a one-​hour massage was $ 75 because the $ 70 listed on the salon’s website has not been updated.)
I arrived exactly at 11 am on a Sunday for an 11 am appointment and thought they seemed a bit disorganized and unprepared to take me. I had to point to my name in the appointment book before they understood that I had an appointment.
As I waited for the nail tech (Marlena sp.?) to get set up for my pedicure, I chose a polish color. I was disappointed in the small color selection but was able to find an option that I liked. She did a nice job with both the pedicure and manicure and knew what she was doing, but she (as well as some of the other employees there) spoke almost entirely in Spanish (to the point that when I told her I’d like to use the restroom, she didn’t understand what I had said and had to have a coworker translate).
Once in the restroom (at about 11:30 or so, so it was at least 30 minutes after they had opened), I found that there was no toilet paper (and no extra rolls in the rack on the wall or underneath the sink). Also, while I appreciate wanting to help the environment, I didn’t think it was that sanitary to have just one cloth towel that was intended to be reused from customer to customer to dry one’s hands (and the towel also didn’t look like it had been set out just that morning, either).
When it was time for the massage, the masseuse (Dounia sp. ?) entered and immediately began speaking to me in Spanish (which I don’t speak). Fortunately, I was able to tell by context that she was asking if I would be having a one-​hour massage. I’ve had about five massages at other establishments, and she is the only masseuse I have had who didn’t ask me before we began if I had any areas that shouldn’t be touched or if I wanted to focus on any particular areas.
The massage began, and I felt that Dounia was working as if she felt rushed. I had a hard time relaxing because the room was cold and I could hear loud rap and dance music from the rest of the salon. I will admit that I am a bit spoiled when it comes to massages after having my last massage at Elizabeth Arden Red Door (where I lay under heated blankets, was not cold and had relaxing music piped into the massage room), but lying under cheap, scratchy towels that left much of my body exposed while she worked on other areas left something to be desired.
Ultimately, the massage was somewhat relaxing, though I was never completely able to ignore the loud music coming from the rest of the salon. When the time was up (and this is the only massage I’ve had where I actually looked forward to it being over), I thanked Dounia and she replied only, «You’re welcome.» Hello, I just gave you business; the correct response is something like, «And thank YOU» or «You’re welcome, and thank you.»
When I was paying for my services, the woman whom I assume was the owner spoke to me (and had better English than the other employees I dealt with). Oddly enough, she asked me if I had been too hot in the massage room (I thought this was strange, because it had been just the opposite).
The 2-​star rating comes from the following:
–1 star for poor polish color selection
–½ star for the disorganization when I arrived even though the business was officially open (and my dissatisfaction with the restroom)
–½ star for the minimal communication and language barrier I had with the employees who performed my services
–1 for a fairly disappointing massage experience
I don’t think I will be back, and I would not recommend Le Touché unless someone was nearby and just wanted a manicure or pedicure.

I went in today for a haircut and a blow dry, and I think I’ve found my new salon. Now, this place is very unassuming from the street. If you are looking for a salon that looks «high-​end» this isn’t really it, but the quality of the styling definitely is. Isn’t that more important?
I have a lot of very curly hair. Most salons I go to never book enough time and the hairdresser usually makes several comments like, «Wow, this is a lot of hair.» It can get old. That is why I was so happy when the stylists at Le Touché didn’t even seem phased. They welcomed me and asked me what all I wanted to get done. They took lots of time washing and blow drying my hair. I got a great trim, and they told me they would flat iron it for me as well. My hair looks really, really good. I was most impressed though with the time they took on me. Marlene (my stylist-​i think that is how you spell it) separated my hair in small portions and flat ironed each one. I seriously look so sleek, you wouldn’t even know I have naturally curly hair.
Most of the staff here speak Spanish, so be ready for that. I used it as an opportunity to brush up on mine, honestly! :) Vicky speaks English though, so I had no issues making an appointment, paying, etc.
This really is a great place, and I recommend giving it a try. Also, I saw men and women in there, old and young, curly and straight, so it seems like they are able to handle all kinds of hair.

Holy dirty mess, batman. Is it a hair salon? Or a Goodwill dumping ground? There was so much extra crap on shelves that had nothing to do with what one would consider ‘health and beauty’ products. The only thing nice was that they saved me a few bucks (being I have super short hair) and charged me for the mens cut.

I went in for a pedicure and noticed a pedicure/​manicure combo was only $ 35 so why not.
Place seems a little small and disorganized, but so do a lot of places.
First issue, they didn’t have the color I wanted, but there was something close. I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to stuff like that.
My pedicure was fine. Not the best I ever had, but the for the cost a really good value. As for my manicure — Sad Face :-(My nails were a little uneven though most were very long. I asked her to trim them a little since some were chipped. She (a lady different from the one who did my pedicure) cut my nails below the top of my nail bed. I was furious, but am a high road person so didn’t go ballistic in the salon. I did however run over to the Rite-​Aid across the street to get some Revlon press on nail. I had to cover up with that butcher did to my hands. So two weeks later and my nails are finally to a where I can scratch again.
Needless to say, I won’t return.
They do hair here as well, and from what I could tell people the hair cuts and such were good. Everyone there had great hair and color.
