I came in today expecting an hour massage but received only 40min instead (so others should be aware of the start/​end time of your massage!). Had a woman for a masseuse who wasn’t very friendly. Started at 7pm and it felt like she was rushing through the motions. She was talking to another lady in the middle which was distracting too. When she was done, she tapped me on the shoulder and rushed to the bathroom. I tried to look at the clock next to her stand but it was covered up, perhaps on purpose so I can’t see the time. I had my watch on me so I could see she only spent 40min. Perhaps a different masseuse will provide better service but this experience turned me off from coming back again.

This place is hands down (haha) the best. You get an incredible massage, fair price, semi-​private space without all the mall noise (here’s looking at you, health magic).
I recommend calling in advance, though if you drop in on a weekday or weeknight you can sometimes get a walk-​in appointment.
The lady at the front desk is very kind and good at communicating what you want to a technician if their English is limited.
I often upgrade from the Signature massage (which includes acupressure and a foot bath) to just a full on massage. Both are great.
While I love spas and the indulgence of a steam shower, if you’re back is outta whack, Nirvana is your place.
Tip: short on time? You can ask if you can get a 15 min massage for a reduced price.

My husband and I visit Nirvana at least once a month. We’ve both gotten massages from various masseuses there. They all have their own style of massage but all are pretty good. If you request a deep tissue massage, which we always do, they’ll deliver a harder massage at no additional cost. The ambiance and music are perfect for relaxing. At Nirvana, you you are required to stay fully dressed so wear something comfortable and not too thick. Nirvana massages will never disappoint!

The price isn’t bad but both my friend and I found our massages lacking in pressure. You stay clothed during the massage so that may have been part of it. The massage comes with a foot soak as well.

I’ve been to Asia and this massage came nowhere close to anything of the like. It felt more like the woman was just rubbing lotion on me as opposed to giving a massage and connecting with muscle (much less deep muscle). I went to relieve muscle pain from the Army 10 miler and to increase circulation, and I left with well lathered skin.
1. If you don’t have strong hands, don’t become a masseuse. It’s not rocket science, but the profession isn’t going to be a strength area for you.
2. If you’re tired at work go grab a coffee. Taking a nap and snoring loud next to paying customers isn’t respectful or professional, especially in a place with no doors.
The saving grace for this place was the price point and it goes to show you get what you pay for…

My first time at this place and it was pretty good although the face down head rest hurt my neck. The worst part was that I scheduled the first available appt at 10 and the lady didn’t get there to open the door until 10:15. Another couple and I were just waiting outside. Same thing happened to a friend a few days earlier. They need to either start appointments later or get there on time!

The front desk service was terribly rude when attempting to schedule an appointment. The lady cut me off twice and then acted as if I were rude. She was snappy and testy. Perhaps they should hire someone without an attitude issue. With service like this I’ll never try a massage.

Wow what an amazing experience — the young lady greeted us warmly. She shares the different options for services — we asked when was the next appt available for the both of us? She checked the schedule and she was able to get both of us in. Wow ! How lucky are we? I was very pleased with my entire body massage. I will return again — great price! Totally recommend. Only disadvantage was the opening of the front door — but overall wonderful

Great massage! I felt so relaxed afterwards. They worked out some big knots that I had in my neck. When they tell you wear comfortable clothes, wear comfortable clothes. They do the massage with your clothes on. Women: helps if you wear loose shorts, tshirt and no bra. I will be back again! It is very quiet and relaxing.

This is one step up from those massage kiosks you see at the mall. I was expecting a private room, soothing setting. What I walked into was one giant room with curtain partitions, clothes must be kept on. My massage area happened to be right next to the waiting area so I heard conversations the whole time.
My masseuse smelled like cigarettes. His clothes reeked and his breath reeked. In fact, I smelled like cigarettes and had to take a shower/​wash my clothes when I got home. On top of that, the place was dirty. When I flipped over on my stomach and had my face in that pillow where you can see the floor, I could see dust bunnies blowing around. Oh and I could smell my masseuse’s shoes.
The massage itself was mediocre. He put some weird watery lotion on my legs and back but then SCRUBBED my skin raw with some dry towel. Again, I could not wait for that shower. I had to reapply lotion to myself when I got home because he had rubbed my skin and legs raw to the point of irritation.
I would be more upset, but I suppose I brought it on myself — it was a $ 45 massage, so I got what I paid for. Lesson learned.

Enter a hushed, darkened ‘chamber’ of zen-​like, décor– Bamboo flora, waterfall background music, plush deep-​buttoned divans, and Japanese-​style lamps. Serenity now.
Service: A+
I tried their almost absurdly well and under-​priced $ 45 1-​Hour Full-​Body Signature Session which included a Herbal Tea Foot-​Bath, Hand Reflexology, Foot Reflexology, Full-​Body Acupressure, and Full-​Body Traditional Chinese Deep Tissue Treatments. Details: Foot Reflexology involves a focus on 65 reflex points related to various glands and organs. For someone who’s a ped-​phobic (.e.g., polar opposite of one with a ped fetish), I actually enjoyed this. Masseuse worked on massaging reflex points on my neck, temples, and scalp first while I laid on my back with feet soaking in the warm bath. Then, she massaged my arms and hands. At this point, she had me turn onto my stomach and applied deep-​tissue massage on my back and shoulder. My particular masseuse (Tina in the Gaithersburg location) scored herself an A+ in terms of ‘technical skill’ and kind, serene demeanor.
Cost: A+
All their services are generally really well-​priced. Example: $ 30 for different half-​hour massage services.
(Tangent: Odd how for someone who eschews hugs and most other general forms of tactile exchanges [to the point my mother knows I prefer her and I doing the Euro cheek to cheek kiss in greeting or farewell, and my horrible friends like to gang-​rush me with protracted group hugs,] I’ll indulge in these services several times a week.)

Atmosphere — very relaxing, lighting is dim, music is soft and low and noise level is almost non-​existent. It was so quiet that I felt like I had to whisper to the receptionist.
I think they place is hit or miss. For my first time there, definitely a miss. A friend of mine went with me and she agreed.
First, we made an appointment earlier in the day for Reflexology. Booking appointment, easy.
When we arrived, we were greeted and asked to fill out the questionnaire and waiver.
1. We both asked for a female personnel. I got a male and she got a female.
2. We both did not receive the service we booked. We booked a Reflexology service and received their «special» massage.
3. When it came to pressure, we both asked for light. Needless to say, we both did not get that. Mine was painful and I was ready for it to be over. At one point, he was giving me a headache.
In the end… I don’t even think they READ the paperwork we filled out.
This place is great for someone who wants a good cheap rub. If you want the «spa» experience, avoid this place.

Before experiencing Nirvanna Reflexlogy Spa… I felt like the Tin Man… Stiff as a board and tied into a human «sailor-​knot.» I have had lots of massages in my life, but none as impactful (in a long while) than the deep tissue that I got from this place yesterday.
Truth be told, I had an appointment in which I was late due to rush-​hour traffic. And, to my dismay… they were totally booked for the rest of the evening. I was bummed and my body was in calling for some therapy. Thanks to the receptionist she was able to fit me into a cancellation. So I waited for about 30 minutes and it was one of the best decision made because the massage session I experienced was extraordinary. Actually, it was amazing!
THE ATMOSPHERE
Very relaxing. Low-​lit, very clean open spaces, sounds of pebble-​rivers and water falls… everywhere. The seating area alone was calming and the music was very soothing. I felt like the wait was therapy alone. LOL! So after a short wait, it was time for some therapy. The best way to describe this massage was: «Shangri-​La Bliss» — the perfect balance of between relaxation, soothing music and working out the kinks! And, not only was the experience pleasurable on the mind and body… it definitely was a saving on the pockets. I only paid $ 45 for a 60 minute (1 Hour session) full body massage, which is a crazy, steal of a deal in this area! Included in the price was an «out of this world» foot bath and massage was included in the price too! You can’t beat that!
THE MASSAGE EXPERIENCE
The Break-​down: I had the $ 45 1-​Hour Full-​Body Signature Session — which included a Herbal Tea Foot-​Bath, Hand Reflexology, Foot Reflexology, Full-​Body Acupressure, and Full-​Body Traditional Chinese Deep Tissue Treatment. The whole experience was top-notch…A tranquil experience, through caring hands. I mean it was better and less costly than massages experienced at Massage Envy and hotel spa/​resorts during my travels, in my opinion. While it’s not a completely private room, each massage area is curtained off. So the massage you get is a «semi-​private» style massage.
Due to years of having a sports-​enthusiast and «active» fitness lifestyle, my body has been through the ringer and there are kinks/​knots I discover daily… that even I can’t explain! The massage therapist that worked me over was named, Amy. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all the muscles in the body and without saying a word, knew how to relieve my tightness and kinks. I had to say nothing but display a pleasurable grin. Amy knew how to get to the root of my problem and relieve all the tight muscles that were plaguing me for weeks. The session included a head to toe experience of sensory touch and trigger-​point /​deep tissue therapy. For such a great 1Hour service and price… including foot bath and massage… even the most hyper-​serious massage enthusiast type would have a hard time being fickle or discriminating on this place. This was my first visit, so I cannot speak on the other massage therapist but the service provided by Nirvana and Amy is the bomb! I definitely felt like a client and not a first time customer; from beginning to end.
TIP: Signup for their frequent buyer program. Free massages after a certain number of visits. Also… ask about the massage «package» deals that they have, you will not be disappointed!
GO HERE… Now…Because of Amy and Nirvana Reflexology Spa… I can «Pop-​It and Lock-​It» again!
I am a fan and will be returning regularly for sure!

I’ve been to many parlors and this is the best fully clothes one by far. Now as you might expect there are several people working there and not all of them are equally skilled. I have my preferred masseur that’s for sure and I’m never unsatisfied. At times after a massage I’m so relaxed I literally have to sit down for a couple of minutes before leaving.

Hands down the best massage ever. I’ve been going to the Shirlington location for almost 3 years now… whenever I try a massage somewhere else, it never compares to the ones I get here! I love that they combine reflexology into the massage – so many health benefits and really aids in the relaxation and ease of your body. And a full hour massage for only $ 45? Who can beat that?! All of the staff are very friendly and helpful – great customer service. I bring everyone here for a massage because it really is that satisfying.

You can make same day appts. I’ve done this a couple of times. I’ve been here about three times now.
The first time was great, but the second time was just ok. The last time I went here on a Saturday, I called just an hour ahead of time and was able to get an appt. and it was awesome. Peter was great and is now my go to guy.
Things to note:
1) Cost was $ 45.00 for an hour — great deal!
2) This is not the traditional massage you get at Massage Envy or Red Door. Its their own style. Plus, you are only separated by a curtain for privacy.
3) You do not remove your clothes or put on a robe. You will keep all of your clothes on. There is a brief time that you may lift up your shirt and its when they use oil on your back
Overall, its a clean place and for the price its certainly a good value. I come here when I need to get some kinks out and don’t want to pay those salon prices. The next time I go, I will go for the 1.5 hour massage which is $ 74…
Special Package: 10 –1 hr massages for $ 390. You can share with friends and family and I may just do this with a friend to save $$$ and hand them out as gifts!

I had a great experience! Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. The schedulers at the desk gave me some advice about the different packages and helped me pick one that matched up with my requests. I had called in to make an appointment earlier in the day and we started right on time. I was a bit early, so I had some water and relaxed in the nice little waiting area in the front.
I saw Peter and he was so good! He gave a few gentle instructions to help me get the most out of the massage, never making me feel uncomfortable. It really seemed like this was not a one-​size-​fits all massage. He paid close attention to my reactions, range of motion, and how my muscles were behaving. I didn’t have to stop and re-​direct his attention to the real problem areas, as I sometimes have had to do at other massage places. I asked for firm pressure and he took me at my word, also unlike other massage places. I didn’t feel like he wasted any of my time. He seemed to squeeze in as much therapy as he could, firmly resting the heel of his hand on a tension point as he worked on some other spot with his other hand or elbow. I really can’t say enough good things.
Other reviewers have said this place is a bit pricey, but I feel like it’s at or below the price-​point of similar massage places in the area. I chose the wellness massage, so that I could get targeted treatment for my shoulders and upper back, which is $ 60 for an hour — about what I would expect. As I recall, the general full-​body massage is only $ 45 for 60 minutes, which is quite a good value.
Highly recommended for the friendly staff, low-​key atmosphere, and really effective massages.

Half of this is my fault — I didn’t realize what an accupressure massage was and I was expecting more of the typical massage/​spa experience, which this was not. In a pinch, this is great, but again, go into it knowing that it’s not a regular massage experience.
You leave your clothes on for the entire massage and you are not in a private room. The room sounds quiet at first but when I was actually getting my massage I could hear the conversation behind the curtain next door, hear someone coughing (a lot) and hear someone complaining about the massage. It was less relaxing than I would have liked. The place was clean and had nice water noise in the background but it just wasn’t the experience for me.

I’m in love with this place. I had low expectations based on their website’s design, but surprisingly this place was relaxing. You don’t even have to strip down, but you don’t want to come in wearing jeans either. I’m always wary when I try any new massage place: their procedure, where to keep your personal belongings, the cleanliness, the environment, etc.
The first thing I noticed was how dark the interior is. This is actually really calming and i felt like my senses were heightened because of it. The temperature of the place is perfect: not too hot and not too cold. They do a good job of making sure you’re comfortable by covering you with towels. The foot soak was a comfortable temperature too.
I’m sure everyone’s massage experience will vary from different masseuses. I think my masseuse was pretty average. She was able to get all the parts that I knew I would be sore: thighs from the previous day’s yoga session and my back/​shoulders from sitting at a desk. I could tell she was using her forearms which were strong. I can’t imagine how much energy or pressure it takes for her get through the tshirt and sweatpants I wore, but she could still get through those layers to get the right spot.
I selected «medium» pressure on the form. I probably should have picked «hard» since you can always adjust. In fact, I probably should’ve spoke up during my massage but I was just too busy relaxing. Lesson learned on my part.
$ 45/​hour is worth it. I was sad when the massage was over. I think I’m ruined now. I’m not sure if I’ll find a place in Atlanta quite like this one.

Pretty good I’d say. Coming from LA, i used to go to these every other week when i felt like driving out east. It isn’t $ 15 here, but it’s still pretty cheap compared to other massage places.
I did the full body massage for 60 min. Not sure where people park here, but I found a spot right in front so probably got lucky with that one. My therapist did a good job. He didn’t make it too painful, which is one of my gripes sometimes. I like a relaxing massage, not one that makes me cry. I fell asleep in the beginning so that means it must have been quite relaxing.
I had an appointment, but they were 10 minutes late getting me and then the receptionist came to rush my therapist when he had not even gotten to the back yet. So, other than feeling rushed, it was a good overall experience.
