Today I stopped in for an oil change, first time customer of Oil Can Henry’s. Even with a line, I was greeted with both a «menu» and today’s edition of the Seattle Times newspaper by a guy wearing a golfing hat… awesome!
I liked that these guys knew a lot about my car and didn’t ask me redundant questions, meaning in the past I have had to tell them how many liters my engine was, and other questions that frankly I do not know off the top of my head, but if only there was a database at their disposal that had all of the answers to their questions.
So these guys wear these golfing hats and you feel like you are at an old-​time place. The gimmick works. My kids enjoyed it. The fact that some of the guys wore hoodies I can give a pass to, it was cold out. The price was actually cheaper than what I was going to get at Jiffy Lube. The whole experience was positive, there was no yelling or demeaning comments made towards others, and I felt that the guy was not trying to con me. They shows me the samples of all the fluids that they inspected, and since my car just had to be re-​engine recently due to a recall, no surprises, all the fluids were bright and vivid, and the colors that they were supposed to be. I didn’t notice the colors, I was distracted by the hat the guy was wearing!
The only bad part is if I want to return, I have to drive an hour to go to another Oil Can Henry’s location!

I love how they greet you with a newspaper and prices. While you’re waiting they clean the windows and check the tires. They try and and up sell everything but I have no problem saying no. They do show you right there so you can see for yourself (air filter, fluids etc). The price is a little high but you’re in good hands. Jordan is awesome, super friendly and kept me company.

Excellent service! All though they need to hire more staff. & they are about $ 50 more then any other oil change place. We have taken both cars there. It ends up about $ 100 per car. 5 stars for the workers. 1 star for being over priced.

In the past had a lot of trouble with pushy sales and inept technicians until I happened upon Oil Can Henry’s in Arlington. they are professional, let you choose what you want to have done, make actual relevant recommendations not to line their pockets but to help your vehicle. I will go no where else from now on. thanks!!!

The service was quick and efficient. Love that they give you a paper, clean your windows and fill your tires as you wait. They did hit me with an extra charge due to my filter being a different model then what their base package covers (I have a Vue). The cost, compared to other places, is also a bit more expensive. If you’re in a rush though, this place is probably the spot for you. Don’t forget to print out their Unilocal coupon to save $ 8!

I’m a fan of all the Oil Can Henrys’ partly because they give you a newspaper while you’re waiting on them to do their job. That’s a nice perk! I also have never heard of any heinous customer service stories or incomplete or poor work under the hood. I also appreciate their low prices, which come with strings attached of course… they ask you every 2 minutes if you want something upgraded or some additional maintenance. I always just come here for the cheap oil change, so I get to practice my skills saying «No.» If you can handle the upselling, Oil Can Henry’s is a good value.

Avoid, Avoid, AVOID!!!
I took my Yukon in for a simple oil change and when I left, I had NO Power Steering or Brakes!!! What’s worse, when I returned immediately, they denyied doing anything to my rig, saying that perhaps «a mouse chewed a wire» and that these trucks are known to have steering issues. Really? Then what about the Brakes? I initially drove to their shop just fine and now, it’s a mysterious mouse’s fault?
They phoned the manager at my insistence but he refused to come to the shop. The employees said he was «busy». So I’m stuck with a truck I cannot drive away and they are washing their hands of this and have gone to lunch. What the heck kind of fly-​by-​night operation is this anyhow?! What a nightmare!
I’ve now called a nearby competitor (Mr. Buckles) who is outraged at their handling of this, & is sending a tow truck, promising to fix what these bozos were unable and unwilling to do!
*** update: The tow truck driver that Mr. Buckles called told me that this same Oil Can Henry’s outfit screwed up his car too!
At Mr. Buckles, my issue turned out to be a severed vacuum line, thanks to Oil Can Henry’s. Oh, and Mr. Buckles charged me NOTHING! Wow, how Amazing is that?
Do yourself an enormous favor, go across the street– Behind Rite Aid, to Mr. Buckles Oil Change Service Center. Don’t even risk going to Oil Can. The risk is too great.

Love this place! Super fast service. Getting ready for a road trip down to Cali in less than 24hrs and bam my lovely car informs me that the life of my oil is nearly due for a change. FML.
Immediately I did an internal fist-​bump to myself, stoked I could finally try the oil place off of 172nd with the proper boys with those adorable hats. They sold me solely based on the caps. Don’t judge. Jammed on over nearly an hour later shocked and, between you and me, a bit skeptical (Hmmm how did they do that soooo fast?) that perhaps I’d just fallen victim to a skilled bait and switch (being that I’m no tomboy and get all deer-​in-​headlights when someone wants to converse about, literally, anything automotive.) .that I was in and out in less than 20 mins (and this was @ 4:15 pm on a wed).They saved me a possible ticket too! Apparently my tabs were due and I (shocker) wasn’t even aware of their existence. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU
P. S.- did you know that they’ll top off any of your fluids for 3 months after your oil change?! Even washer fluid! Beware kamikaze bugs and annoying tailgaters not thwarted by my more subtle techniques (you know what I’m talkin ’bout), I can spray ALL. Damn. Day.
P. P. S. How freaking cute are the caps they wear?
