History

Established in 1989.

Olympic Security & Communications Systems was started as one of the few non-​traditional «alarm companies» that would install and service not just alarm systems, but almost any limited-​energy system you could want. We did «structured wiring» before the term was even coined. Recognizing a gap in quality and service in this industry, we set up shop in Everett, WA and grew from there. We are now based in Arlington, WA, and are a strong regional player known to tackle a variety of systems in a smart, technically competent manner. «One Stop Shopping» is a term we embrace, supporting simple DIY systems to complex multi-​building life-​safety, security and communications systems throughout the State of Washington.

Business Owner

What began as a hobby in electronics became a job as an installer became a focus of study and growth became a business owner, manager and parent. I got my first job in the alarm business in 1979 as an installers helper. I continued my education in those years studying electronics, computer programming, drafting, mathematics and writing. A couple of distractions over the years gave me exposure to the general aviation business, warehousing and appliance repair, but my career has really focused on low-​voltage electrical systems. I have worked on a huge variety of projects and sites, from simple residential to complex industrial and military systems, consulted for the Federal Government and local cities and was even offered a federal job in my field, which I thankfully declined. I started this company because I thought I could do it better. I hope we do. It’s not been easy, but we are going strong and getting stronger all the time, thanks to some very smart people that have joined us
