Dr. Wainer is a kind, extremely capable chiropractor who genuinely cares about his patients.
I have had chronic lower back pain for years and I always feel better when I leave his office– both physically and psychologically. Everyone in the office is friendly too– the back therapy is just right. And there is easy parking too.

I choose this doctor based on the 11 5 star reviews. This doctors bedside manners remind me of Dr Jekyl and Dr Hyde. On the first consultative diagnostic visit he was calm kind and answered all my questions. The next day he greeted me with grimace, unprofessionalism, and rudeness, answered my question half from inside the patient room and half screaming from another room, and left without letting me know that the visit was over. If you do not believe me, please schedule a treatment course with him and you are in for the most uncomfortable experience.

I moved to the DC/​VA area less than a year ago and was searching for a comparable chiropractic office like the one I left in PA. Dr. Wainer was not the first chiropractor I tried, but he certainly will be the last. He is a very kind man and absolutely knows what he is doing! The girls at the front desk are so dear and I feel very welcome every time I walk in the door. I feel very lucky to have found this office and plan to be a patient there for a very long time.

I’ve been a patient at Dr. Wainer’s for almost 4 years ago, and I have to say that he was a very knowledgeable doctor and cares a lot about his clients. He’s very good with recommending exercises to do to improve your health and also he’s awesome with doing the adjustments. They also work with most insurances and it’s a very nice atmosphere and good location. The massage therapist Ha is also excellent.
They get busy often around lunch time and 5pm when people get off of work, so try to avoid those times when you schedule.

Dr. Wainer is great at what he does. Friendly staff, free parking just feet from his door. In forty years he is by far the best I have encountered. I just can not imagine why you would want to go elsewhere. Thank you.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wainor at Bowman chiropractic for 6 years. I cannot tell you how many times he has fixed my ailments. I am a long distance runner and triathlete and he has cured my several back problems, sciatiicas, IT band injuries, foot ailments, sprained ankles, hip problems, and all muscular pain or injuries.
He can fix anything. Any pain you are having, he can alleviate or eliminate it.
He is very personable, loyal, and professional towards his patients. I have referred dozens of people to him and everyone is overwhelmingly pleased. He is the best chiropractor/​physical therapist in the DC metro area (and I have been to many over the years).

Dr. Wainer is awesome! I found him on Unilocal and the office luckily is right across the street from my house. I have been going to a chiropractor for years and moved to VA 2 years ago and haven’t trusted anyone so I just never went. I had to go back because my pains were getting so bad. I can just say that I’m literally on cloud 9… I’m so relaxed, happy and feel lighter because he helped my neck and shoulder pain so quickly. I have another visit with him tomorrow and literally can’t wait because I know I will walk out feeling that much better.
The visit was great, had therapy, got adjusted, then did an ultrasound that felt great! If you are debating on whether or not to visit Dr. Wainer… do yourself a favor and GO! He is great! Very straight forward and I really appreciate that, he is there to make you feel better and he definitely does that very quickly! You can tell he really cares and this was only my first visit. I’m so happy I finally found a chiropractor that can heal my pain!

so I HATE drs. ALL drs. he is so sweet and kind. my back/​neck/​shoulders are feeling better than ever. most of all they are SOOO hassle free. I showed up with no insurance card, they still took me. ive never had an issue of them making me wait – NEVER. that is a huge feat for any type of physician to never make a patient wait! i appreciate that my time is just as valuable as their time. they are very honest they had me come in several times due to my issues and they waived a few co-​pays even without me asking or anything! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! i have never been so satsified with scheduling and the way they worked to not nickel and dime me. they are always available! great job! and they have street parking and are walkable to two metros.

Dr Wainer is amazing! He helped our one year old’s ear pan, after two rounds of antibiotics were unsuccessful. Our little one relaxed completely and instantly. Dr. Wainer was friendly and explained everything he was doing, as well as taking the time to answer my questions. I was hesitant to take my kids to a chiropractor, but will do so again without reservation. I highly recommend him!

Five Stars is Not Enough!
If you have any sort of pain, new or old, you need to see Dr. Wainer as soon as possible. After having ongoing calf pain/​cramps that literally kept me from sleeping, I was referred to Dr. Wainer by a friend at the gym. I was hesitant to go, as the practice appears to specialize in chiropractic services, but I was completely wrong. Dr. Wainer treats all sports related injuries, regardless of the location on your body, and if he cannot treat the area he will make a recommendation of who you can visit for help.
In just a few short weeks I stopped having any calf pain at night. I still have some calf pain as I spin almost every day, but the frequency, intensity, and length of recovery from the cramps has decreased significantly to almost nothing. I know that with continued visits I will be completely healed.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Wainer and his extremely friendly, helpful staff. They all genuinely care about my recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Wainer and Bowman Chiropractic for any injury you have.

This is LONG LONG overdue…
The second person to ever get me back to health after sports injuries, the other one is in Huntsville, AL (this includes an immediate and extended family full of doctors).
I have never felt nickel and dimed here and always left feeling better.
On several occasions I popped something out of place after I had already been adjusted and left the practice (same day or day after) and, within reason, I have never been charged extra for these additional adjustments. Usually something like the knee is hurting and/​or shoulder is out of place after working out. Never has any other doctor put aside the money making focus in an effort to get people better.
I have been treated by world renown orthos, so many DPTs that I’ve lost count (all except one were totally worthless), and even by other chiropractors.
1. Orthos didn’t care much and couldn’t figure out what was wrong (they made their guess, sent me for MRIs, no need for surgery, and then they quit caring)
2. DPTs (Doctor of Physical Therapy) — All worthless with one exception. Jonathan Zecher in Huntsville, AL — he had multiple certifications in manual manipulation (think the best of ortho + physical therapist + chiropractor). Only one in the DC area charges $ 250 /​visit, one in Vienna too, but out of network and still rather expensive.
3. All my chiros were well researched and great chiropractors, but none ever gave me so much value in addition to great care (cash pay is actually affordable here).
I had a nerve impingement that no one could figure out, a muscle on the front of my shoulder (suspected labral tear), multiple bulging discs, and knees that like to hurt… all treated and under control in just a month or two.
I decided to not spend the money on personal trainers and diverted it to chiropractic care after I threw out my back and could not even stand up straight. Best choice ever.
Great office staff, great chiropractor, staple of my improving health and fitness.

I’ve been going in as needed over the course of several years, and even after long breaks, he always remembers me and shows an interest in how I’m doing.

Dr. Wainer is fantastic – I literally hobbled in a few years ago when I was dealing with sciatica. He gave me advice and great care and the office is close to both the GMU and the Ballston metro stations.
What I like most is that he’s nice, friendly, and makes you feel at ease. You can get an appointment easily and the office is open on Saturdays. Dr. Wainer always remembers me. I travel from the district to visit him because I trust him and haven’t had a problem with my sciatica since going to him for regular adjustments. Also, he offers package deals that help if you are un/​underinsured.
I’ve sent several friends and co-​workers his way.

The biggest advantage you have is you can get an appointment literally at an hour’s notice! You will probably see why when I am done with this post.
1. The doc does not care to remember you or your case history before the visits
2. They are patient, and courteous but the nurses follow the doc’s bad example — they set up the TENS/​Ultrasound/​Cold Laser etc randomly — without knowing where/​why/​what to do. I have had to remind them multiple times what my problem was!
3. The doc keeps forgetting his next-​steps for me — I had to remind him, and ask him for exercises
4. And, the exercises that I were prescribed made the symptoms much worse than when I came in!

Friendly, knowledgeable and highly skilled. Dr. Wainer and his staff are very knowledgeable and skilled. I found this office through my insurance provider and am so glad I did. I originally went in due to an injured neck, within 2 weeks, about twice a week, I was better than new, each time I went in they listened to my progress and catered to my needs. I have been to other chiropractors before and have felt rushed and as if my treatment was a template that they applied to every case they had, here it is different. The office is very clean and the staff is great, I recommend this office to anyone in need of an adjustment!
