I came here with a groupon after reading all of the great Unilocal reviews for the Planchita Platter and it did not disappoint. With the groupon amount we were able to get an appetizer of plantains with beef as well which was delicious. The Planchita Platter is big enough to feed a small army, but of course two of us finished it. The meat itself was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had in my life but for the price point I liked it. The yuca was the real MVP. Go get some yuca! The place itself is a little strange — kind of dirty looking and the water they served us tasted like jalapenos(maybe bring some water in your purse) because I’m assuming the glasses were used for margaritas or something beforehand. The service was also a little slow but I really enjoyed the platter and plantains.

We are excited to recommend this tiny but unique place in Arlington. The food portion was huge with nice price and it tasted delicious with good combination of meat, veggie and carbs. The outside seating area is very interesting and we should try out the drinks next time. The only thing I was disappointed was about the plate which was plastic so the steak knife would leave marks.

I don’t understand where all of these great ratings and reviews came from — I must have come on a VERY off night. The mojitos were syrupy and headache inducing. The meat platter had little salt or seasoning and tasted like spoiled meat. We left pretty much the entire platter :/Our server was very nice.

Service was a little slow(it looks like they don’t have too much staff), but the food was amazing. I recommend the parrillada

First time trying Bolivian food. Me and my friend tried the set for 2 people. It’s all about beef haha, exactly what I wanted. Besides meat was done too well and bit chevy everything else is great.

I love this place unpretentious & the food is very authentic. It may be a «hole in the wall», but they have the best authentic food. The price is right too! No doubt I’ll be back. Thanks for a great experience

I’ve gone to this restaurant twice — both times I ordered the pollo saltado. Note: this place isn’t a good option if you’re a vegetarian. It’s very meat heavy. I’m giving this place a 3 because it seems very authentic, has slow service and the food is OK(but this could be the cuisine.) We got guacamole, which was delicious(can’t go wrong with smashed avocados) and also the plantain hushpuppies, which were good to start. We also got margaritas — they’re very strong but still tasty. The service is a bit slow here but I think the pace in general is slow. The outside area is nice and relaxed and there’s Latin music playing loudly, which gives it a nice vibe. My dish both times has been just fine. Pollo saltado is chicken(some dark meat) pan fried with onions, tomatoes and red peppers with rice. There is no sauce but there is some juice. It isn’t terribly exceptional; I’ve had better dishes that have just been chicken, rice and veggies. I got the same dish again this time because everything else seemed too unhealthy(deep fried) or had bones in it. Again, nothing too special, and that may just be the cuisine. If you’re looking to go somewhere relaxing and want to try Bolivian food, I’d recommend this place. Otherwise, you’d be just as pleased going to a different restaurant that serves South American drinks and dishes.

This is a hidden jewel in the heart of Arlington. Delicious food and great portions to fill you up and keep you satisfied. My sister took me to dinner here and I can’t rave about it enough to other friends and family. When you first walk in, it’s not a super trendy restaurant –but once you are seated you get the ethnic experience. My recommendation is the silpancho. You won’t be disappointed. It was amazing. A Nice portion of rice with breaded meat and tomato salsa and a egg on top. Finger licking good! I’ve tried it at different places and this was by far the best. Try it all

Most of the food here was quite good. Both of the lamb dishes we got were excellent, but the pupusas were mediocre at best. I give this place two starts because it’s quite possibly the worst service I’ve experienced of any restaurant in the DC area. We get seated and are given menu’s, and we order. After that, everything went downhill. The server was extremely inattentive. She didn’t come to check on our table once. We ordered 2 pupusas as appetizers. We’re sitting around waiting for 45MINUTES and NOTHING comes out and the waitress doesn’t come check our table once. What’s worse — a table that was seated after us got their meals first. Then someone comes by and says are meals are coming. I expect them to bring everything out at once at this point. But no, they bring out one plate of not 2, but 3 pupusas. The server puts the plate in front of us and then asks us how many pupusas we ordered. I said two. So without saying anything she picks up the plate and walks away. If it was there mistake for making an extra she should have just said oops we made you a third, it’s on the house, especially after the 45 minute wait. Then I flag down the person who was presumably the manager and ask him why it took 45 minutes to bring us two pupsas. He said«didn’t you want them as your appetizers?» I said yes, that’s not the point, the point is it took 45 minutes. His only response was«the kitchen is small and these go on the grill. He was no understanding at all. Then it took about another 20 minutes to get our dinners. By this time I was ready to walk out the door. Thankfully the food was good. The manager said something again near the end of the meal about being sorry for it taking a while, but again using the excuse that«the kitchen is small». Now I would like to come back here because everything *but* the pupsas was really good, however with the level of service and the lack of caring or understanding of the manager, I doubt I’ll ever be back.

It’s tough to give this place a negative review because I really had heard good things about and wanted to like it. But after we ordered, disappointment began to set in as my meal and my friend’s meal took well over 45 minutes to get to us. Now if the place was super busy I’d understand, but for the bulk of that time we were literally the only people in the restaurant. When the food did arrive(I got the vegetarian platter and my friend got a chicken dish), we both found it to be relatively bland. The vegetable platter came with large peas, corn, potato, and a salad with onions and feta cheese. It was decent enough for me to eat most of it but probably would not eat it again. Also, the music they played consisted almost entirely of bad 90’s music. I’m sure some people enjoy it but I thought it was irritating personally.

Stopped in to Sibarita after buying a Groupon. We got the planchita platter which was a smörgåsbord of meat options and fried items. It was the perfect introduction to this type of cuisine which I had not tried before. Also sampled some guacamole which was some of the best, most flavorful guacamole I’ve ever tried. I really enjoyed it and we will be back again.

This is the place you want to go with a group of good friends and eat some delicious, flavorful food in a fun, casual, and friendly setting. Carmen made sure we were happy and took good care of us. She briefly went over the menu and her recommendation for us did not disappoint. So we ordered a fantastic platter(parrillada) of super tender steaks, beef ribs, chorizo, and chicken. Everything was juicy and cooked to perfection. This is definitely a place to check out!

The Planchita is such a great deal and definitely enough tasty food for 2. It comes with steak, chorizo, ribs, fried egg fries, yucca, plaintains, rice and grilled vegetables. The second time I went I did take out and the food was still delicious. Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices. I’m definitely a fan!

This place was incredibly dirty and deciding to go there was a major mistake! Wow! Such a dirty place. Food was bland and mushy. I had a steak with rice, fried eggs and sauteed onions and peppers. The rice was inedible. Complete mush. The rest of the food was bland and boring and in general it was not enjoyable to eat there because it was so dirty. They should do some serious renovations. My friend went to the bathroom and said it was filthy. I do not know how this place has good reviews. The server was attentive and nice, but the restaurant was far too dirty to ever go back to and the food was absolutely terrible. I think Arlington must have bad food since this place managed to have good reviews.

This little family run gem is unassumingly comforting, like a hug from your long lost elderly aunt. It’s most authentic Bolivian fare can be found weekends, but there’s still plenty of deliciousness mid-week. Saltenas Like lightly sweetened baked empanadas or pasties filled with potato, peas, signed chicken. Must try! Sopa de Mani Deserves a slot in the«epic hangover foods of the world» hall of fame. It’s creamy but not heavy, has a nice hint of mint, beef broth, yuca, string fried potatoes in a perfectly nuanced mélange of palate pleasing comfort. You need this in your debauchd life. Try their mixed cocktails. The Boozy Peach Iced Tea isn’t super sweet but it is a great summer cooler. Worth the ride from Upper NW!

If you’re ever in the DC, Arlington area and you don’t stop here for food, you will honestly have missed out on one of life’s greater pleasures. Coco and Brenda and well, the entire staff will make you feel like family(they were even kind enough to keep serving us long after they closed, they even sat with us until early in the morning as we drank and talked like old friends) The food here is incredible to say the least, definitely bring your appetite. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place, it’s amazing food, and incredible staff.

While the extent of my Spanish vocabulary is «Poquito», the only word you will need to know at Sibarita is «delicioso». I had never really experienced Bolivian cuisine, so really glad I decided to check this place out. Believe the other reviewers who state this place is a «hole in the wall» because it is easy to miss along busy Washington Blvd. Located 5 blocks from the hipster haven that is Clarendon, do not expect to find stainless steel décor, pendant lighting fixtures, or vessel sinks with high efficiency hand dryers in the bathroom. TIP: Before entering the broom closet-sized bathrooms, take a paper towel on the table in the hallway for drying your hands. In fact, upon walking into the restaurant, I wasn’t even quite sure where the seating area was. But walk around the counter and there is a decent sized dining area complete with two large screen TVs which will be tuned to either a Spanish language station or a «futbol» game. The menu is extensive… IMHO maybe a bit too extensive since the laminated sheet is almost too busy with all of the items. But do yourself a favor and order a Yuca with cheese appetizer to start the meal. A crispy disc of yucca stuffed with cheese and then topped with Queso Fresco is scrumptous by itself, but dip it into the addictive house made green chili sauce and it is transformed into a fantastic appetizer. The green chili sauce doesn’t hit you at first, but the heat builds with each bite. The cheese really helps to balance out the heat while providing a nice salty finish. I would get this again solely for the green chili sauce. The server recommended the Planchita which was HUMONGOUS, and even though the menu says it can serve two people, actually it can easily satisfy three adults. Seasoned grilled beef ribs, NY strip steak, and spicy chorizo sausage are sauteed with onions, peppers, tomatoes, plantains, fries, and then topped off with a fried egg. While your cardiologist may not be happy with this dish, don’t worry about leaving hungry. The strip steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare while the seasoning on the ribs was on the spicy side but not too high on the Scoville scale. I will definitely be back since Sibarita also features a «progressive Happy Hour» starting at 3pm. Current prices indicate that from 3−4pm, beer is $ 1.75 and each hour the prices go up slightly until 5−7pm, when it tops up at $ 4. Not bad at all. There are also wine and mixed drinks specials, so ask the server for additional information. The only«negative» is the itty-bitty parking lot in front of the restaurant. There might be 5 spots total, so dining here could mean either street parking or circling around the adjacent neighborhood streets. Both of these prospects are not fun given the competitive parking situation in Arlington — but it is a small inconvenience to enjoy excellent food at a very reasonable price.

A true hidden gem and«hole in the wall» in Arlington. Never had Bolivian food before but if the place is an indication of the food, I wouldn’t mind checking out the country someday. The portion sizes for the entrees are huge! We ordered the Planchita for 2, but there was enough leftovers for another dinner for 2 people. We got 3 huge grilled ribs, one chorizo sausage, two fried eggs, plenty of fried yuca and plantains. For appetizers, we got the fresh pico de gallo. It came with plantain chips. The margarita I got was delicious as well. Bottom line: Great value, well seasoned and fresh food, and friendly service. I wouldn’t mind bringing friends to check the place out. Tip: Get an order of the fried yucas if your entrée doesn’t come with it. So crispy and well seasoned!

This little place has been on my wife’s Unilocal list for quite a while. We had the opportunity to try a late night snack. Parking is small and tight but available. When you walk in, there is a small bar area, where local patrons enjoy a drink or two. As luck would have it, I actually saw a past co-worker there. We were seated in the back dining room. Service was prompt. The menu was extensive. We only wanted a small snack. I ordered the Cubano. That sandwich would have fed the entire Unilocal crew tonight. For a mere $ 9, it was almost a 12 inch grilled sandwich filled with pork and the perfect amount of pickles. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of house red. The portions are very large. The staff(all two of them) were very accommodating.

Great Bolivian food, very friendly staff, pleasant and casual atmosphere. We had the Planchita based on our waiter’s recommendation, and it was very tasty and a huge portion even for two people to share. We happily took the leftovers home and enjoyed them later! For those concerned about the language barrier, enough English is spoken that it should not be an issue even if you don’t speak a word of Spanish. If you do like to brush up on your Spanish a bit, all the better. Overall, this new restaurant is a nice addition to the Latin American options within walking distance of the Orange line. Hopefully they will add salteñas to the menu soon(they mentioned they hope to), but we’ll be back regardless.
