If order deep dish it will take 45 minutes there is a lot of flavor in it and a lot of cheese, after waiting for 45 minutes our pizza topping have something different than what we order. We have no choice but just eat it

This place had some of the best pizza in texas. Im from Cermak and Central. Their Chicago style pizza is just like the one back home. Loved it! I will definatly be a regular. 02/29/2012. Is todays date every thing before the date was the first time i came. Today i went in ordered the pizza, and the whole time the guy owner was arguing with his poor mother about his daughter. It was disturbing to watch them argue right in front of us. I understand your going to disagreements as business partners. But you crossed the line. You show poor leadership and you let your anger get the best of you. With an owner like you don’t be surprise when people don’t come back. 12/31/2013 Update. The Business is closed, I thinks its some taco shop now.

Went here a while back because I was looking for Chicago style pizza. I found it here on Unilocal! So I thought we would give it a try. I have to say this place is pretty great! It’s hidden in a corner which I think is a bad idea, this place should be front and center! It’s good… I had the Vienna Beef hot dog and my girl had the personal pizza, which isn’t so personal :-) thing is huge… Over all good pricing on their food and you won’t be disappointed, the staff was friendly. The only bad part about this place was that its«Cash only». I wish I would of read the reviews before I went, I had to leave and go to an ATM and get some cash out just to eat there :-/but it was worth it!

I finally tried his pizza place and got the thin crust. Very delicious and its a shame they are closing. Well, the owner sold the business and not sure if it will be the same. I should have tried the deep dish Chicago style pizza!

The Chicago Corner is unexpected gem nestled in my neighborhood. If you want an amazingly great Chicago-style pizza, this is the place. The prices are decent, the sauce was thick, sweet and worth the trouble… The trouble is, the service is awful, the staff was rude, the place is a dirty dive, and their«CASHONLY» policy is a bit of a pain in the a**. Who carries cash anymore? Really?! If you want great pizza, hit up Chicago Corner. If you want great service, head to Pizza Hut. It’s a trade-off either way. Just stick to carry-out, take cash, and expect an attitude and it’s all good.

Oh, Chicago Corner. How do I LOVE thee? Let me count the ways! As a native Chicagoan, I’m going to go ahead and say this is the REALDEAL. Vienna beef polish sausages and hot dogs. Complete with the atomic green relish. I’ve ordered a polish every time I’ve come here. YUM. Thin crust pizza cut into squares like they REALLY do it in Chicago. NOMNOMNOM. They have a Lou Malnati’s looking stuffed pizza that I haven’t tasted yet. I need to wear my eating pants before I go there and order that. They also have gyros, but they were out of the meat the first time I went. It’s a divey kind of place. As is the case with MOST dive food joints, it’s DELICIOUS. BYOB. For your friends who really don’t care about Chicago food, there’s a bunch of Italian food on the menu as well. As their sign on the front door says, «IFYOUSFROMCHICAGO, SAYSO» And I say so! Thank you for bringing a taste of home to the DF-Dub.

First things first, Big Grand Opening sign up, So that being said you would think its new and clean with all the bell and whistles, WRONG! what you get is a big sign at the front door that says, CASHONLY but, they do have a ATM right next to the register, sorta like the one you see in Bourbon St. in a corner of a ally. OK here we go after getting our cash at the ATM($ 2.50) and waiting to be seated in the dinning room, the place that had the A/C on. we ordered one med. pie(thin) a order of fettuccine Alfredo and a Italian beef sandwich and four drinks(cans) after ten minutes the cook came out to the table to ask if there was any other pasta we could have because they were out of fettuccine, I think our waiter was a bit too busy helping his friends in the back of the house, I seen him help them about 7 – 8 times to of three which was seating us, taking order and giving us our food, its the small things like drinks and taking plates and giving bill which help us get out so we can let you get back to your friends. The food was a reflection of the whole eating experience, in fact there was a big sign inside the restaurant that said«It’s Worth Waiting For» now that’s no lie you’ll wait your ass off in there hot ass dinning room waiting for you food, which I could see if it was a deep dish pie but, a thin crust, beef sandwich and some warmed up angle hair pasta… lol please we sat for at least 25mins for that whole order the sandwich came out about 10mins after everyone’s food came out, I could under stand if it was meal worth waiting for but, it wasn’t I’m afraid to say. the pizzas I give a 4 out of 10, the crust was too thin in spots making it fall apart, the sauce had less taste the caned pizzas sauce, now the cheese was the only thing that saved and brought it up to a 4, just a very sub-par pie. the Italian Beef sandwich I give a 6 out of 10 because of the amount of beef and the good flavor of the debris(spicy) I asked for the gravy on the side but, the plate was full with it, I don’t know why but, I had to poor it off the plate just to try and eat it and because it was so soaked I couldn’t eat it with my hands, had to use a fork, hey I guess they tried. Also, the fettuccine Alfredo made with angle hair… lol you can just guess how that tasted 2 out of 10, I guess we surprised them by ordering something off the menu… lol how do you even run out of fettuccine? I mean Wall-mart is right across the street, run over and buy 20 boxes! damn!!! I have never told anyone to not try a place but, this time I have to. If you do this is for you, I TOLDYOUSO! save your money and go to I don’t know maybe any big pizza places around or hell! QT or 7 – 11 at least you know they will take you C/C and get you food under 25mins

If your from the Chi you gotta show this joint major love. Definitely the most authentic food I’ve had since living here. Italian beef was good made to Chicago perfection(dipped). My wife had the maxwell(jew-town) polish she liked it but didn’t love it she felt the onions should have been grilled more and the polish was a little spicy to her. The fries are some of the best we’ve had in a very long time, they cut their own potatoes fresh. Very good size portions for the price. If you live DFW, N. Dallas or S. Dallas area you gotta make that drive you won’t be disappointed.

My boyfriend & I just moved from Bedford, across town to Arlington and wanted to try a little spot to go to for something different. And since I read reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give it a try and see what tasted good. We placed a carryout order and the guy that took the order was really helpful, and he was telling me how they didnt carry a few items that I was looking at on the website. Which was good to know for future orders they dont carry I guess wings, seafood, soup and I think a few other things. Which didn’t make or break my trip on going because I wanted something Chicago’e. But since we just had pizza we ordered The Italian Beef sandwich & the kids chicken parm, which was perfect for me. Overall it was good, only reason I gave it a 4⁄5 rating was because he said it was CASHONLY!.. And for me and I’m sure a lot of you out there don’t have cash on you regularly. So the food was great, and it’s always good to support your local restaurants am I right?! :)

We had heard good things about this place and decided to give a go on an otherwise lazy Saturday afternoon. This establishment is literally in the corner of a small strip mall. Staff was very friendly. No alcohol is sold here, it’s BYOB. Luckily there’s a small convenience store just a few doors down which sells a variety of beer and wine. We ordered a medium meat lovers deep dish pizza(despite the server’s recommendation to get a small for 2 people) and boy were we surprised by the size of this thing. We each were essentially full after one slice but felt obligated to eat another to at least justify the visit! The crust is on the thin side but was delicious. Sauce was tasty and the cheese was plenty. They somewhat skimped on the toppings, or maybe I just didn’t notice it because of the massive amount of cheese. Bill came out to about $ 26 for a medium deep dish and 2 sodas. The medium is enough to feed 4 hungry men. We will be making a return visit, and next time I want to try the italian beef sandwich which looks awesome. They also have $ 4.99 lunch specials which include a pasta, bread and salad(can’t beat that). Be prepared to wait for your pizza though, like any good Chicago style pizza it takes about 45 minutes in the oven.

Deep dish pizza is worth the wait(30 – 45 minutes): thin crust, lots of ingredients(pick up to four), a small can easily feed two big hungry guys, or six women(yes, it has six slices). To help us wait, we ordered two Great Vienna Beef brand Chicago style hot dog, with unholy green relish on a poppy seed bun. I should have had two by myself. The place is old and Divey and in a funky ‘hood, but these folks are friendly and genuinely care about their food. BYOB too.

I cant believe I didnt review this spot. My hometown has really stepped their food game up in the last 10 – 12 years and this place is a bright spot. Everything so far has been really good. I had the pizza, it was excellent, thin crisp and super tasty. Ive had the deep dish which also kicks ass. Its the real deal and I could only finish about a piece and a half. They also have Chicago style hot dogs… I mean who orders hot dogs when they go out to eat? I DO when I’m here. So amazing with the crunch and flavor. The real dill(hehehehe) and I promise it will make you like me. Order a friggn hot dog for dinner. In Texas thats a shake your head moment. My favorite is the Italian Beef loaded with hot sweet peppers. If you suddenly find your head smacking against the floor its because your body has broken out into doing the worm. Its make a granny break dance good. They dip the whole thing in au jus… HOLYSHIT. Just go eat here. Plus BYOB and very reasonable… The deep dish isnt cheap but everything else is…

I’m from Chicago & went looking for hometown cooking. This small place is quite out of the way but really really worth hunting down! It’s literally in a corner of this strip mall so you have to get out of your car to find it. Sure enough: This is the real deal: excellent Chicago Italian immigrant cooking, typically what you’d find in the Windy City or even quaint, older Chicago suburbs. When I think of Chicago food, I think of Jewish, Italian, German, Irish and other ethnic cuisines. This is your typical Italian fare, but top-notch. We had the pasta combo which was by far the best Italian food. It included real, homemade pastas with amazing meat sauce, 3 cheeses including fresh & thick mozzarella! in DFW, fine Italian cooking is a rare find. Their home-made rolls have Italian spices on them — tasty and oven-fresh. They have so many Chicago native dishes yet to try… I can’t wait to sample the Italian beef sandwich, deep dish pizza & other menu items. The atmosphere is also Chicago, no-frills Italian immigrant style. Don’t miss this place — even if you don’t know Chicago cuisine at all… GREAT home Italian cooking for very reasonable prices.

Sadly, the original family that opened The Chicago Corner sold it. It’s not as good as it was and I’ve downgraded my rating from a 5 to a 2 star level. Prior review(no longer applicable) I was going to Palio’s up the street a lot for my pizza fix. Now I’m going to Palio’s and Chicago Corner. The pizza is fantastic and the folks are nice. They’ve got a bunch of other foods but I can’t tear myself away from ordering the pizza everytime I go in. I’ve been about a dozen times and it’s always delicious. The sauce is deliciously flavorful, the sausage is the best I’ve ever had, the thin crust is crispy, and there’s a good balance of cheese and other ingredients. Oh — and it’s BYOB. If you forget your own B, there’s a howdy doody convenience store a couple doors down in the same shopping strip and they have all kinds of options for cold beer and some wine.

Why 3 stars? Food = 5 stars(6 if they had it) Atmosphere = 1 star If you’re a fan of the big pie(deep dish) and Italian Beef sandwiches, look no further. If you’re a fan of waiting almost 2 hours to get fed, listening to verbal fights between staff and owners or having your order«lost» in the sea of orders floating around the kitchen, look no further. Overall, I would give them my money for takeout. I will never eat there again. Try it for the food, nothing else Also — don’t «Rosey» on the bill. That’s not cool

I’ve been to all the Deep Dish joints around Chicago. Gino’s East, Edwardo’s, Lou’s, etc etc. I know a good pie when I see one. I’m happy to say I can give this place my stamp of approval. Now I don’t know that it would stand up to a Gino’s pie, but when you’re getting the shakes and the only cure is more Deep Dish, this pie will get your motor runnin. I’d say it needs a bit more cheese, but overall I’m really really happy with this delicious pizza at the end of my fork! The crust is pretty dam good and the owners are straight out of the Second City. They were VERY nice, and very accommodating even when we had a slight mix up they were over joyed to spend another 40 mins cooking me a new pie on their dime. I’m looking forward to going back for an Italian Beef! They looked awesome! Give these guys a shot, good people, good food, and totally worth the 40 min drive.

My review is 5 stars for food and friendliness /attentiveness of service but I will warn you up front that it is SLOW to get a deep dish pizza. Ours took over an hour. We had a big group and appetizers to tide us over, and the pizza was WELL worth waiting for — but don’t come here when you are in a hurry unless you’re going to call your order ahead of time. Our server took good care of us — kept our drinks refilled and checked in with us frequently — but they just don’t have the oven capacity for the amount of orders they got that day including our huge one, so we were there for quite awhile. This is the authentic Chicago style pizza I’ve been looking for here in town. I’ve found it, I can now eat it contentedly. Tangy, copiously applied sauce. Generous amounts of toppings(underneath the sauce mostly), crust that doesn’t dominate the pie — this thing is heavy but it is mostly toppings and cheese, not crust. I LOVEIT! I will repeat though for emphasis — expect this to be a long, relaxed meal if you order the deep dish, and enjoy it for what it is! Patience, grasshopper!
