Update from ²⁄₂₄ — I don’t know how a patient can get better service than this: 2/​24, saw Dr. Ramirez and had blood work done; 2/​25, rec’d call from her office saying they are sending me a prescription for a bone density scan; 2/​29, rec’d that prescription AND a call from her office saying blood work all fine, available on portal. I say, please mail results to me; rec’d ³⁄₂. Once I have the scan and Dr. Ramirez gets the results, I go see her to set up a plan.
I kept track of the dates in case things went downhill after the initial visit, as they did for other people posting here. As you can see, in my case, at least, this practice definitely rates four stars.

I have never been so disappointed in a dr’s office before. This is beyond ridiculous! I have been seeing a dr for 4 years now, and when I need an appointment I have to wait 3 – 4 months just to receive a «check-​up». I ran out of my medication during he time waiting for my appointment and called my pharmacy to get me a refill, the gentleman that was working on my file was extremely RUDE, and had no respect to my pharmacists nor the patient (me). He denied the prescription, and I’m supposed to wait 2 months without medication because you just decided to deny it, because the dosage was wrong, fix it! That’s what you’re there for! Never ever have I been disappointed in a dr’s office so much! RIDICULOUS.

They have a policy that you can only see the doctor every fourth visit. All other times you see the PA. The PA has NO personality or bedside manner. I felt as if she never listened to me or take my concerns seriously. They believe in treating the numbers and not the whole individual.

Can you give negative stars? I wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time and money. Horrendous experience! First of all if you don’t get there early parking is horrible and you pay for it. Second, they tell you to come early only to have you wait for over an hour to be seen by someone with the personality of a brick wall which is not fair to compare to the brick wall because at least it has a purpose. My first clue should have been when the person who recommended them stopped going there. I guess I don’t rate seeing a PhD because on my first visit I saw one doctor (couldn’t pick her out of a lineup if you paid me) for about 3 minutes. She seemed nice but I couldn’t get an accurate read. The ladies in reception are nice but that really doesn’t matter to me. The knucklehead I saw was supposed to send a prescription to the pharmacy a week ago and when I try calling them they have a «service» that if they aren’t open or on lunch they don’t take messages. My time is important too and I feel their care is subpar. Don’t go.

Tried to schedule an appointment as a new patient as their site said they were accepting new patients. Ha! Waited on hold for 30 minutes until a very sassy, disrespectful woman answered to tell me they were not accepting new patients and had nowhere else to refer me. Waste of time.

Do you want a doctor you can’t get an appointment with for 3 – 4 months ?
Do you want a doctor who is perpetually late for appointment ?
Do you want a doctor who won’t review your test results for weeks after they’re done ?
Do you want a doctor who won’t call you back when they promise to ?
Do you want a doctor with a medical staff that doesn’t pass along messages to your doctor?
If you answered Yes to any of these questions then please call Th Endocrinology Group PLLC. Dissatisfaction Guaranteed! (The only reason I have given them one start is because there isn’t an option for Zero stars)

I love Wendy, the NP. I appreciate it that she’s really accessible… when i was ill and taking meds from my primary that really screwed up my blood sugars, she quickly responded to my email with helpful suggestions. She’s very matter-​of-​fact, which i find helpful. She’s not overly friendly or chatty, spends more time at the computer typing than looking at me during a visit, but she’s careful about updating my records and looking for changes and trends. The practice maintains a referral network of specialists and support services that has been really useful.
I love their patient portal! i can easily schedule an appointment online, check in early and do that pre-​appointment paperwork the day before an appointment, send in questions, change any pertinent medication or other information, review summaries of all of my past visits and lab results. Wendy writes up a short summary right after each visit, as well as a note summarizing the lab results as soon as she gets them. I get an email at home whenever my record is updated; i got a note on my lab results from her today… a Sunday!
I’ve seen several local endos in the area (been fired from a couple of the more rigid of them), and have been most pleased with this practice. My diabetes is under better control today than it has been since i was diagnosed 20 years ago!

I have hypothyroid disease and am pregnant, which can be a complicated thing to manage. However, this doctor had no urgency with treating me. In my appointment she read my lab work and made a diagnosis based on just a piece of paper and without talking to me or examining me. She should be ashamed.
The worst part is that I need lab work done monthly. In order to get my results and updated prescription, I must email via the portal multiple times and also call the office several times. The office is closed from 12 — 1:15 daily, which is unreal! The entire experience has been horrible — not to mention you have to pay $ 5 to park in the garage every time you need to come in.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone — STAY AWAY

Worst service I have ever experienced. As a 11 year diabetic, I can honestly say this was the worst group I’ve ever chosen. The receptionists were always rude, always gave attitude and we’re just very sassy. Whenever I called to reschedule appointments, ask questions or request something, the people who answered the office phone were so RUDE. I have never felt so disrespected calling my own Dr’s office. The receptionists/​assistants/​whoever works for the Endocrinology Group need a few classes in professionalism. It came to the point where I DREADED calling because I knew what I was going to get on the other line.

I haven’t even seen these docs and they’ve already pissed me off to the point where I don’t want to see them. Last winter I made an appointment online to see them through ZocDoc — it was about two months ahead of time. When it got to be about two weeks ahead of time, I had to cancel it because my coworker was going to be out and I needed to cover for her. In the meantime, I had already scheduled a consultation with another endocrinology group. There was also an issue with duplicating my medical record and tying it to my other Privia medical account but I thought that had been solved.
Earlier this week, I thought I would try again since I need to get in and I’m having a hard time with my other endo group. I made an appointment through their new online system for about 4 weeks from now. When I put it on my calendar, I realized I have a physical scheduled at 8 AM in Vienna and while my appointment wasn’t until 9:15 that day, I didn’t want to chance driving to Arlington and missing it. I then rescheduled to another day two weeks later that I thought would be open for me, but then someone else turned in a vacation slip so I realized that I couldn’t do that either. I cancelled my appointment.
I got a voice mail message stating that because I had cancelled my appointment four different times, they weren’t going to be able to see me if I called back and cancelled another time.
I work for a medical practice — it would be one thing if I called and no showed or if I didn’t give more than 24 hours notice. I gave a minimum of two weeks, four weeks, and six weeks notice. For them to take this stance is absurd.
So, my quest for an endo continues.

Call to make a appointment — the receptionist doesn’t understand English — very frustrating to deal with. That is probably why they want patients to use their webpage portal…
Finally get in to see Dr. — Dr had no time to explain anything to me but made sure she received payment from insurance company & charged me an addition fee for simple testing of blood. All while she accused me of lying to her…
Next appointments were with the physician assistant .boy what a scam!
They are good about making sure you make a next appointment with them…

The fact that new patients can get appointments right away while exiting patients have to wait 3 – 4 months should tell you something about this place. Seriously, i called to change an apt (scheduled for 2 months from now so not a last minute change) and was told there is nothing available for another 3 months, but when I go online my Dr. has plenty of availability if i say I am an new patient. Shouldn’t an appointment be an appointment? Versus treating you poorly once they get you in the door?
They also use a messaging system to communicate and with overworked doctors this means a lot of information is often left out.

I made an appointment with their endocrinology department for a routine exam. My doctor was obviously very overworked, kept yawning during the entire exam and her grasp of the English language was fair to say the least.
It was my first time meeting with a doctor since finding out that I had a thyroid problem and it was very hard to figure out what was going on. I got my prescription but there was no after care follow up at all.
When it came to renew my meds, I ended up going with Northern Va Endocrinology even though it is 45 minutes out of the way for me and had a MUCH better and personalized experience.

Whew, Dr. Banh is brutal. I went in to talk to her about adjusting my thyroid replacement meds because they don’t seem right but that was not on her agenda. Apparently, listening to patients is not part of her approach. Warning: if your have any weight issues, be prepared for a verbal assault. She said any of my complaints (which are pretty standard on any patient forum) were not due to my thyroid meds. Go figure.

Beware… the staff need lessons on professionalism. Do yourself a favor and set up an appointment at a different endocrinologist. I feel like I should do more explaining, but all the reviews are the same… not good. Oh, and if you do decide to go bring $ 5 for the parking fee, and don’t forget to mention you needs refills. If you forget to mention this and call back later requesting refills, they will charge you $ 20 per refill they have to call in. No matter what you do, don’t bother speaking with the Kay Wallace, the office manager. She reminds me of the stuff that gets stuck on the bottom of a shoe! ;)

As soon as I get my prescription filled, I will be finding a new endo. There are always twice as many staff as patients yet you have to wait 30 min for a scheduled appointment, 20 for a blood draw, and 10 to just check out. The staff is unfriendly and rarely answers the phone, scheduling appointments is the most frustrating thing ever. The doctors are ok, but rushed me in an out and then 3 days later called me with a life changing diagnosis, I deserved a bit more than 15 minutes of review. Parking is $ 5, and the billing rates for this place are double any other institution. Definitely not worth it, more frustration than it is worth.

The practice appears to be too busy to actually give patients the focus they need. I’ve experienced several instances where they just didn’t bother informing me about my blood tests for 10 days or more. If I called with a question, it generally took a day or more for someone to get back to me.
Dr. Ramirez is very nice and conscientious, but she’s busy, and many times just doesn’t have time to get back to patients with answers to questions and concerns. When you have a patient who is not feeling well (not awful enough for the ER, but still not feeling well), you might want to make it a priority to get back to them with answers. But that just doesn’t happen.
The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was that I started feeling really bad, and exhibiting signs of thyroid problems. I called on a Monday for an appointment. Scheduled an appointment for Tuesday at 2pm. Got there on time, and was told they had no record of my appointment. The receptionist then told me I could go to the emergency room if I was feeling bad. Greeeeat. Thanks bunches! They had me get blood drawn again, and Dr. Ramirez came out and talked to me for a few seconds. She told me she couldn’t really do anything until she got lab results back and promised they would be back by the end of the week, and she would give me a call.
By Friday, I was still feeling bad, and I had gotten no call. I called and spoke to someone who told me that my lab results had come in the previous day, but no one read them. She promised Dr. Ramirez would get back to me either at my office, or my cell by the end of the day. The day came and went, and nothing. I would think if you have a patient who is feeling bad and waiting on lab results in order to get helped, a phone call for a few minutes would be a priority. Nothing.
I’d finally had it. Sent them an email telling them I was switching practices. I then got a response at 1:30am on Monday morning, informing me that my labs were normal, and that I needed to go see my family doctor!
No thanks. I’m done there.

Dr Huang seems to be a very competent endocrinologist. She explains issues very well. She does her own ultrasound procedures in the office — giving instant results without needing to go somewhere else and then have a radiologist send over the results. She is Georgetown trained which gives her solid credibility in my mind.

This place is HORRIBLE! Like all the other reviews, the staff is rude and seemingly most have English as a second language. My wife went here and all they were interested in doing was pushing pills. After over a year of asking the same questions and complaining about the same problems a 2^nd opinion from another practice, she was told the drug dosage was incorrect and in fact, most likely no longer needed to be on the drug. BEWARE!
