Tortilleria La Nueva de Zacatecas

I’ve been coming here for years. Small home spun joint serving the finest in homemade chips and fresh salsas.
They also sell Mexican cheeses, of which I have sampled most, all delicious. They sell fresh made tortillas, always the best.
They also sell lunch trays, but I haven’t sampled the fresh cooking.
No real sit down room, all intended to be take out.
I tell you what, their salsas are about the hottest and finest I’ve ever had. I’ve lived all over Texas in my 51 years and travelled through New Mexico extensively. I’ve never had hotter or better salsa.
Ever.
I make a long special trips anytime I want the finest HOT sauces. Always worth the trip.
I give them a five star for consistently offering something no one else has managed to corner: the hot hot homemade salsa market.

Even though the food is good– fresh and homemade, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff is always beyond rude and unprofessional.
Tip: if you order to go, check your order before you leave, I made the mistake of not doing so and I had some items missing even though they charged me for it, when I called the lady answering the phone was rude and said it was my fault…
At the end, the food might be good but the service is so bad you might wanna reconsider and get your Mexican food fix elsewhere.

Me and my buddy stopped in for lunch at this place. He said he never ate the food, but often gets the homemade tortillas to take home. We both ordered tacos, and they were seriously on point. Super legit. The homemade tortillas are amazing as well. Don’t expect to have a great dine-​in experience here because they only have three stools to sit at. There are fresh sauces and other stuff in a cooler for take out purchasing. This place is great! Highly recommend it.
