Wok Box – Arlington

What a dissapointment! I ordered the firecracker and my son ordered the orange chicken. Both tasted like «la Choy» meets raw vegetables. A very poor representation of same good Asian recipes. Best thing was the noodles. I was expecting a bigger meal for what we paid too. Portion control was ridiculous.
The spring rolls were another huge dissapointment. As generic as they come and obviously not hand made. Save your money. There are too many good little places around that will totally kill this joint!

Was looking for lunch places close to UTA and saw this. Looked really compelling and I wasn’t disappointed! Love the different choices, but since this was our first time, went with Singapore Cashew Chicken. Awesome flavor and generous portion. Also tried the spring rolls (okay) and the Bang Bang Shrimp (crunchy and flavorful!). Very friendly staff. I don’t get to Arlington often, but when I do, this will be my ‘go to’ option for lunch! I’m looking forward to trying some of the other options. Ask for military discount if you’re eligible; includes retired military. I think they also have a student discount.

Great little place recently opened in Arlington! Fresh Asian! They have some specific, well chosen combinations on their menu, but you can also build your own bowl for about the same price. I had the cashew beef from the set up menu. It was really good. More of a Thai taste, I thought with the Thai basil and it was wonderful. Next time I’ll probably dos build-​your-​own and get ALMOST the same thing, but I’ll sub peanuts for the cashews and rice instead of the noodles. We also order the bang-​bang shrimp. FABULOUS! This will be our go-​to place when we are in the area. It’s about time we got something like this here! This is a new chain with only about 6 locations open at this time, but probably about a dozen more scheduled to open throughput the US. I wish them all the luck in the world!

Farewell, Wok Box. Tonight is my final visit here and nothing you say shall change my mind :(
Didn’t care much for the service tonight. Was not greeted with smiles and the cashier tried to be helpful… butnotreally. He asked us if we wanted to make all our orders into a fountain drink for a $ 0.35 more in order to get two free «spring rolls» aka veggie egg rolls. And we told him that one order was fine but he still charged us for all three, so I had to get a fountain drink even though I wanted water. Next up, my mom ordered fried rice but when her order came out, it was Jasmine rice and she was super salty the entire time about it. I offered to tell the waiter for her, but she didn’t want to complain about it. It would’ve been semi-​fine if this wrong order of food was up to par, but it wasn’t. The veggies weren’t even fried and everything was raw. I noticed it placed in the bowl wrapped in a clear plastic bag while we were still ordering and it looked the exact same when it was served with the rice. Fried rice that ended up not being fried with pork and shrimp but there was barely any shrimp in there. My brother and I didn’t see shrimp but my mom said she ate one that tasted like it was only cooked on one side and uncooked on the other half, so I’m assuming there was one shrimp in there. K.
I ordered the orange chicken again because everything else seemed unreliable so I stuck with that, and it’s the same old. Rice is super bland, tasted like cardboard flavored saliva, the only thing which made it edible is the orange chicken. I eat it just to have something to eat and that’s not a way to enjoy food at all. I don’t like their Asian Street Tacos, so my brother ordered that just to see what’s wrong and he said it was pretty good so maybe they improved on that. I don’t know. I didn’t feel like giving it another go to compare it with my first visit. Their butter chicken was pretty good when I tried it last time, so if you’re gonna ignore my review and eat here to see for yourself, then you should probably order that. My mom said the food wasn’t worth the price and that for $ 34 for the three of us, we could’ve gone to a buffet instead. Anyways, my family and I can live without Wok Box in our lives, so I wish you well. This third time wasn’t a charm for me. Goodbye.

Décor (⁵⁄₅): Very roomy! Lots of tables and overall very spacious with lots of windows. Pretty modern looking as well.
Service (⁵⁄₅): Me and my boyfriend went here for the first time and I’m guessing by the confused look on our face, someone kindly came up and explained to us what the different options are and was very helpful. He even said we can try the sauces before we ordered. The lady at the register was also very polite as well and let us try some different sauces without rushing us and was just very patient.
Food (⁴⁄₅): I really enjoyed the food. I ended up getting the «build your own box» option and although it was a bit on the pricier side since I added things on that charged me a dollar more, you get your money’s worth because the proportion is quite large. I took one point off because I asked for a mix of the ginger garlic and Dan dan sauce and asked to go light on the Dan dan but it was a bit too spicy for my liking. But I would still go here again cause the food was yummy :)

I absolutely LOVE this place! It has a great atmosphere and the food is amazing. I crave wok box all the time. I go pick up food from there at least once a week. The staff are all very friendly and happy to be there.

Food was great, staff was wonderful and very helpful. Had the noodle salad was different but we’ll flavored for something served cold. If you do not like cold noodles I would recommend a create you own noodle bowl the pork was tender and sweet.

I’ve been here 3 times, and I put off writing a review for it for awhile now just because I always hope my next return will be better. Unfortunately I’m coming to the realization that maybe this restaurant is just subpar. I usually get the build your own box, similar to a Chipotle where you get to choose everything in your bowl (noodles, protein, veggies, sauce). You have to pay extra for some of their add-​ons though, so beware, one of which is the caramelized egg (they’re always out). For $ 9, the serving size was good, but it’s nowhere worth the money. It took me at least 10 minutes to get my food, so it’s not considered fast food either.
The food itself lacked in content. It was a lot of noodles and few veggies and meat. If I’m paying $ 9, I expect it to have a decent amount of goodies in there. I’m left regretting my decision everytime. But yet I always come back. I guess I’m a sucker for the noodles. They’re good, it’s just overpriced. I don’t think I’ll be making the return anymore though.

I’ve been wanting to try Wok Box. I’m glad it was Sunday night because it meant most Chinese spots where closed, that forced the choice.
I ordered the Build a Box and I liked the options and definitely the ones I picked. Think Vietnamese and it’s close to what I ended up with. Great flavors, clean herbs and veggies, good portions for fair prices. Friendly management that went out of the way to get it right. It’s a good place with fresh choices, you should try it!

Cheap, fresh, tasty food. However, sometimes depending on what you order, it doesn’t have enough flavor. The staff is really nice and will let you try the sauces if you are unsure.

Been ordering Chinese from this place for years, and it’s always great. Fairly price, quick service (about 30 – 40 min) and the food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious! And we have been ordering from this spot for years and I am pretty sure they have never messed up on an order. If your looking for great tasting delivery Chinese food this is the place!

First impressions are always important, Wok Box is good at them & friendly for sure. They greet you when you walk in the door, & ask if you have been here before. Being my first time, he showed me the menu with some recommendations. You can build your own box, & they have an easy-​to-​fill-​form on tiny clipboards, much like at Which Wich. They have a pretty good variety of Asian fusion, i.e. noodles, rice bowls, tacos. It seems to be a place for more of a quick lunch, but they do have a good deal of seating, including a patio area. The ambiance is casual, clean, & fresh. They offer a UTA discount, &, since it’s right down the street, they be sure to ask! I got the firecracker chicken to go. $ 10 seems a little pricy for the portion, but I underestimated it. It’s fresh, flavorful, & average spice level all in a healthy-​sized portion. I’m not a Panda Express or Pei Wei kinda person, but I would come here for some tasty Asian fusion, whether you’re on-​the-​go for work or chatting up over lunch with a couple of girlfriends.

The service was great. A staff came to greet me and show me the menu and their options and left it at that without making the interaction weird and awkward. I ordered the Shanghai noodles with grilled chicken and ginger garlic cane sauce. I was getting my food to go and they asked me if I wanted my sauce infused in with the noodles as they cooked or poured on top. I got the latter because I equated it like my chicken wings: tossed in sauce, not baked with the sauce. They gave it to me in a nice, cute little tidy brown paperboard box in a bag. The bag was the greatest thing because I failed to realize just HOW much sauce they had put with my noodles. By the time I had gotten my food home (15 minute drive), the sauce had soaked up the bottom of the paperboard box and was leaking into the bag. and got all over the napkins, utensils, and fortune cookie that they packed so nicely into the bag for me. :(
Despite the inadequate to-​go materials, I just shoveled my meal onto a plate and ate it that way. No big deal, although I would think that this might pose trouble for people who really need to eat it in the provided to-​go box. When I got the box, it didn’t seem like there would be that much food and I was a little disappointed at first but the box must have been a portal to another dimension because I was sure deceived by how much it truly held. The amount of food was everything I had ever dreamed of and more!
I ate my first few bites and the noodles with the sauce was great! Really flavorful and the amount of food that they gave me was quite a lot. However, I think they might have put a bit TOO much sauce because even despite how much had leaked out into the bag prior, when I got down to where I could see the plate underneath the noodles, there was a huge puddle of sauce and the noodles just seemed to swim in it. The flavor at first was nice and enjoyable but the more you ate, the more sauce there was and it just got to be a little too much for me.
Maybe next time, I’ll ask them if they can cook half the sauce into the noodles and pour the other half on afterwards so I can avoid my prior problems. Overall, I might eat here again if I’m in the mood for their huge noodles (their Shanghai noodles are like the egg noodle/​chow mein version of udon noodles with how thick they are) but the prices are a little pricier than their Panda Express competitor at $ 7.95 for a meal although you do get quite a bit more than a Panda bowl that’s like $ 6 or so. They do give UTA discounts however!

Great casual place to get fresh Asian fusion! The spice was perfect and the portions were healthy. I would come back and try different combinations every time. Great atmosphere and very relaxed. Try the tamarind sauce its was great!

I’m not very hard to please, simply acknowledge me as a customer which the staff does a phenomenal job at making sure you understand their menu and make tasteful food. How many places ask you if you’ve been there before? This place takes pride in their craft. As far as the food, I eat-​out at lunch everyday so it’s hard to find a small-​medium portion, nutritious food made fast and this place meets all my needs. Pleasant dinning area with TVs. So far I’ve had the firecracker box and the BBQ tacos and they are both very tasteful. Not sure what Asian country this food is from but it well feeds my piehole so, I’ll keep coming back.

I love this place! People are friendly and the food is so good and fresh! Highly recommend! I even take a weird route because of stupid Cooper construction.

I I went here today for dinner and got fried kimchi and cashew chicken. They were both not good at all. The cashew chicken had no taste and very disappointing. The concept is great, the place is clean and nice. I hope they will do something about the taste of the food. Also, possibly change the noodle to something else or cook it better.

I had a great time having lunch with my friends. The food was great with good ambience and staff who were helpful.

Maybe because I came in close to closing was the reason for the below par noodles. My vegetables were barely good, the sauce was very little and lacked flavor and the spring rolls were a joke. Even the tea was bad. I only gave it 2 stars because the kids who worked there were really nice. So A for customer service, F for taste.

First star for giving a UTA discount.
Another star for letting you taste the sauces before making your meals.
Last star for being really fast.
Otherwise, this place isn’t worth the money. Most of the food was frozen before it was cooked, and is very bland.
