Bought a groupon — Fish therapy with a pedicure. Arrived after two ladies that were there already and I was done before same ladies that bought the same groupon as Me. I didn’t get a pedicure. All I got was «a fish therapy «LOL (Yes, it’s a joke) and a nail polish application. For 43 $ I could have get super fancy pedicure with a massage, nails cut and filled,…

The fish were the best part of the experience. The lack of customers service make wonder how the place remains open. Don’t expect anything remotely close to a spa like experience.

Nice people… horrible job. The only thing this place has going for them is that they are the only ones with the fish pedicures and that is at most a one time experience. I brought my cousins there because they wanted to do the fish pedicure and since I’ve already done it before… I figured I’d just bring them there and get a gel mani/​pedi done. I was a bit hesitant since the reviews were pretty bad… but I had some time to kill so why not?!? It was $ 65 for a gel mani/​pedi and the lady who did my nails were nice but she didn’t do a good job… not even an average job… I don’t know if it was because she was so preoccupied with using the phone (both her own cell phone and the store’s phone) or if she just lacked the skills. I would never go back there… it’s just not worth it to pay 65 for a bad bad job…
**Also, out of the 3 of us, only I was offered a drink and my cousins were not.**
One of my cousins wanted to get gel polish on her toes as well… so we paid a total of 90 even though I already had bought two livingsocial deals for the fish pedicure… I don’t know how the total even came to be… but I was just glad to be out of there.

I bought a Groupon fish pedicure for a decent price. The fish are called Dr. Fish and they don’t have teeth. When you first put your feet in the water it feels odd. Imagine someone sucking on your feet, you get used to it, however the first few minutes are a bit uncomfortable. The place is large, but it does not have that relaxing spa like feeling. I enjoyed the fish experience, however my feet did not feel softer. The service itself isn’t bad, it just isn’t what I would consider great. To me it feels like more like the motel of nail service instead of a high end experience. Also, please note they have a $ 15 credit card minimum so make sure you bring some extra cash and call ahead for an appointment.

The fish cannot be sanitized in between clients & may transmit disease to include HIV, staph infections, nail fungus etc. People with diabetes are especially at risk.

I went here because I desperately needed a pedicure and manicure. I asked how much a pedicure and gel manicure was and I was told $ 65. Then when I was in the pedicure I was asked if I wanted the spa pedicure which apparently is $ 25 more than the regular pedicure. the regular pedicure apparently doesn’t include anything that normal salons include in their regular pedicure.
For my gel manicure, the work was very sloppy and I can still see the gel polish from my last gel manicure through the new polish.
My verdict: not worth $ 90 for pedicure and gel manicure. I will only go back because I got a $ 10 off coupon for the fishy cure pedicure.

I just moved here from Vegas and was looking for a nice place to get my nails done, which is hard to do in a town you don’t know. Kim was very nice and she did an excellent job on my mani/​pedi. The prices were reasonable, the salon was nicely appointed, and it was easy to find and park (which is a big deal for someone from out of town). I will certainly be back.

We came here because we saw the fish therapy on groupon. The website is not very helpful but the place was easy to find. We got seated after I picked out my nail color and my boyfriend had to sit in the chair with the two year old fish since there was another couple occupying the small fish tubs. We came late in the afternoon so the fish were not hungry. We only did the fish therapy for 20 minutes and I don’t think that was enough time. It was super ticklish and not painful at all.
Next we went for our pedicure and they told us that if they added 25 dollars each than we can upgrade to a spa pedicure.
My sweet boyfriend agreed and while I was sitting in the massage chair, I looked up on my phone what it would cost to upgrade and it wasn’t an additional 25 dollars on top of our groupon price. They definitely overcharged us a little bit but both our technicians really took care of us.
They offer wine, beer or water when you sit down and begin with the regular pedicure procedures. The spa pedicure was nice as they used many products. They spent a lot of time on us and my technician was a great masseuse! Unfortunately, she only painted my toes one coat and didn’t bother to use a top coat so it didn’t last very long. They have a good variety of nail polish colors. I might come back if they offered another groupon.

Don’t expect a resort like spa, expect a unique experience and something you can share with someone you care with.

I’ve come here a couple of times because I love the concept of fish therapy, and there is no where else in the area to go. However, beyond the fish therapy, these pedicures are not good.
On one occasion, my friend and I made reservations (4 weeks in advance!) and when we got there, there was only one nail technician. This singular nail technician then did a poor qualitiy job and even forgot to put on a base coat of polish!
On my most recent visit, the man who was doing my nails scratched my old polish off with a nail file, which actually really hurt! Then he skipped a leg/​food massage, and spent the rest of the pedicure wiping excess polish from a sloppy job off my toes with nail polish remover! I will not be coming back.

Pros: It features that unique fish pedicure. Pretty cool interior/​ambiance.
Cons: The end result of the mani/​pedi was sloppy, rushed, and almost amateur. I left with mediocre nails that looked like I did them myself. The prices are much higher than other nail salons of this level. The nail polish selection is terrible — they do not have basic polish colors that all salons should have. As far as the fish pedicure is concerned, of the few times I’ve visited this salon, I have never seen anyone use the fish pedicure. The water is murky and unpleasant, and it does not look sanitary. Since few people use that fish pedicure, I wonder how often they clean it.
Verdict: I would not return.

Horrible experience… the fishy-​cure wasn’t really my thing but the entire experience was very disappointing!!! After the 20 mins with the fish it was followed by traditional mani/​pedi. Well I sat in the pedi chair for 15 mins soaking my feet before anyone acknowledged me. Finally the girl began, she stated that she was did not like doing pedi’s, that it was a torture. Well she proved it, my 5 year old could do a better job. I will not be back to say the least.
Ps I only gave it 1 star bc it’s required. Totally would have been a goose egg!

We had a groupon and wanted to give the fish nibbling on your feet a try. Unfriendly staff, mediocre pedicure! They couldn’t turn on the massage chair for my kids, that behaved well while we got our feet done, because they didn’t get any services done?! Really? Cannot recommend and will not come back.

ive been here a couple times only bc of the convenience of the location. I ve gotten gel manicures and eyebrow wax. My eyebrows have been ok but the manicures arent very good, especially for the price they charge. they charge $ 5 to remove polish which most place dont as long as ure getting gel again, and the place is kinda dark inside so once u leave u realize that theres places missing on ur nails that did not get polish. Also the last time i went was couple days before a wedding adn ive always prided myself on length of my nails but day later 3 of the broke takng skin with them! That usually never happens but i think part of it was that the polish wasnt applied correctly to the entire nail. Never went back again

Update review: I will never go back to this place again. I had gotten the lashes like a month ago and it was okay. Then another lady did then when I went back for a re-​lash and put sooo much freaking glue that my eyes continued to burn. So I ended up searching on IG and found this girl who does them in MD and as soon as she started. She said OMG, this is a terrible job. Way too much glue. It was so painful for her to get them off because it was so much glue and crunchy. So please I advise, NEVER GET LASHSES DONE here.
Then I went back because I said, okay maybe they don’t do lashes well and got a gel manicure, pedicure, eyebrow wax, and chin wax. I walked out with them charging me $ 93! Completely outrageous considering this is not a real «Spa», and second my feet, hands look completely terrible. I have never wanted to get my hands and feet redone so bad in my life. But I think I am going to have to do it because I can’t take how bad they look. I mean I am literally going today to get them redone. It just pisses me off that they think they know what they are doing and they don’t.
I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Pics to come!

I was looking forward to my experience here after seeing friends post pictures of the fishy cure. However, my excitement quickly died as I walked through the door.
The salon was «bone dry“in all aspects. The ambiance was just not there. No one seemed warmed or welcoming. And did I mention their color selection was limited, crusty, and outdated?
This was a treat from my boyfriend and surprise so I was even more amped up. I was told to pick a color and walked to the back where they did fishycures. I was there alone, and they told me to just «get in». The fish began to nibble away at my dead skin. It tickled. But I felt deep in my heart and after reading some other Unilocal reviews that Yvonne is just a dirty place. My intuition told me as I sat there for 20 minutes that they never cleaned those fish bowls and I probably had my feet immersed in poop.

My fishycure was almost over and I began eyeing the color I picked. It was a beautiful island blue but looked like it had been thinned out with acetone. I wanted something vibrant and bold on my dark brown skin. I told my nail tech I wanted to change my color and she said «totally, this is too light for you anyway». Was it shade? Was it a cultural barrier? Was it a preconceived notion? I don’t know. I thought that was totally shady of her to say and inappropriate.
Any​way​.my mani & pedicure was LESS THAN AVERAGE.
And I had to totally sit through a bunch of Asian dialect which I think is inappropitiate when you have consumers in your business. We don’t know what you are saying and it could be perceived wrong. Every time I walked around the salon, I felt as though they were talking about either my hair (locs) or my large butt.
Do not waste your money or in my case let your boyfriend waste his money. Do not purchase the groupoun… not worth it.
I’ve seen smaller less known nail shops in urban areas get my feet together for less and they actually talk to you and want to get to know you. That is what I like.

Went here with a couple girlfriends with a Groupon to try the «Fishycure»…I enjoyed the fishycure, but my friends were not so enthusiastic about it — the fish definitely tickle you and the first little nibble feels weird! Jon, the owner, was very pleasant and explained the fishycure to us beginning and was very patient with one of my friends who was a little nervous about the fish nibbling on her, offering assistance in getting her comfortable. There was a lady there that was not very pleasant and she dampened the mood a little bit, which is unfortunate since everyone else made our visit enjoyable. Overall it was a fun experience! I also got a manicure and pedicure with Annie… She was great and took her time to make sure that my nails were clean and the polish was done well.

I am gonna say 3.5 stars. I don’t think the service was amazing or anything but I was really there for the novelty of the fish pedicure. It was just that — novelty. It was crazy ticklish and a really fun experience. However I don’t get the feeling that it’s a very cleanly thing to do. I am not sure how you can really satisfactorily disinfect the tank in between clients. The service wasn’t great. You get the feeling that, especially with the price, they aren’t expecting you to be a return client. Truthfully I probably wouldn’t go back regardless of the price because I just wanted a one time shot novelty, so I guess they are right, it doesn’t matter much if they make you feel warm and fuzzy or not. The polish job didn’t last very long but it was ok. I guess the 4 stars are really for the fish. They made me laugh.

I’ve visited the other location and got much better service. This location employees were mean. Well it was just the one lady that did my nails. Supposedly she was the only one that did powdered or acrylic. I asked for another tech to do my nails because I wasn’t happy with how she treated me.
I got a lip wax and during that lip wax there was about four people that walked by to grab stuff. After waxing my lips she literally scraped, not wiped my skin. She also made a comment on why do I wear makeup. I will never go back to this location.

WORST PEDICURE AND MANICURE EXPERIENCE
my cousin made us appointments for the groupon doctor fish for 20 mins, pedi and mani. the staff tries to sell you so many things without even telling you that it will cost more. we figured this might happen so we said no to everything. the place is run down. the doctor fish is cool but dirty. it doesn’t seem like they clean out the water after customers. idk if you’re suppose to clean the water out but it doesn’t seem like they do. there was fish poop all over the floor in the doctor fish thing. i wish there were more fish cus honestly there were times it felt like they weren’t doing their job. haha but they are fish so that’s not the salon’s fault. however cleanliness is. before starting two staff members came to us and wiped our feet with a damp towel. then we placed our feet in the water with the fish. after the doctor fish a staff member came to both me and my cousin to dry our feet with a towel. the staff dried both our feet with the same towel. the towel looked dirty. white towel with lots of stains. yuck! he then gave us the disposable slippers to wear so we can walk to the pedicure station. after putting our feet in and getting the worst pedicure ever my person put back those slippers on my feet. those gross slippers (and i know they wiped my feet but my feet just got cleaned and yeah they prob dont wanna waste slippers. then i’d rather have walked with wet feet to the pedi area and then wouldve preferred slippers. it happened to both me and my cousin. ugh. i was annoyed. then i look at my feet and ew nail polish on my skin. okay a little i’ll let go but more than a little. it doesn’t stop here. so now i move to get a mani. worst mani. i put my hand in cool soapy water real quick. then she files my nails, later puts cuticle oil on my nails but only on my right hand. she forgets my left hand. then she gives me a quick massage with lotion. there was barely any lotion that she had to take lotion from the stick and that’s fine cus you want to save money but i think it’s unprofessional. use that lotion for yourself or figure a way to put it in a container. anyways. after that she paints my nails. i notice a bubble in my nail while she paints but she doesnt even really look while painting my nails. she missed an area and it was very sloppy. i can definitely do a better job myself. she even used a paint brush with nail polish remover to remove some of the nail polish on my skin but even then she didn’t do a good job. i felt like i was paying to go home and use my own nail polish remover and cotton swabs. i went home and erased both nail polish from my feet and hands. so disappointed. also they have bad lighting so when choosing colors my cousin and i had to walk towards the door to see what the color looked like. idk how they even paint our nails well in that lighting.
