My boyfriend’s sister recommended Bastian Salon to me recently. I’ve been burned by other stylists in the past but Gina did a wonderful job! The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming, I’m definitely coming back soon!

We found this place on Saturday afternoon on Unilocal they have excellent reviews so we called to set an appointment. Gina did such an amazing job, and stop there the salon itself is so clean and welcoming with ample selection of drinks and magazines that we ended up staying for four hours because we were so comfortable.
I definitely recommend this salon to all.

Jessica is amazing! At this point in my life I wouldn’t trust any other colorist with my hair. When the salon I used to visit shut down abruptly, I lost track of Jessica. Then one day while looking at all the salons on Unilocal,I found her almost a YEAR later and I’m so happy!
My hair hadn’t been trimmed, dyed, highlighted or deep conditioned since I last went to see Jessica. I’m serious when I say no one else touches my hair. I immediately made an appointment and sure enough, it was her! When I stopped in two weeks ago she added gorgeous red highlights to my hair and gave me a much needed haircut to blend in some shorter parts, chop off dry ends and give my hair some shape after being so overgrown.
When I first met Jessica she was recommended to me by my previous stylist who was making a career change. At that point my hair was badly damaged because I didn’t follow his advice to properly care for my hair and when constant bleaching is involved, that’s a major mistake.
Step in Jessica! From the very first time I made an appointment with her she has been honest, thorough and very helpful. She advised me how to better care for my hair because I wanted to grow it out. It was shoulder length at the time, my roots were grown out and pieces at the crown of my head had started to break off in chunks. It was a nightmare! She shaped my hair and was able to match my bleach blonde to my natural brown and recommend products to care for my hair. Now it’s just reaching my shoulder blades and the previous breakage has grown to become short face framing layers. I really credit Jessica that I have hair right now. I probably would have gone somewhere else and told them to bleach my roots and they would have done it, but Jessica had the courage to advise against what I wanted because she had the experience and forethought to know it would end badly. She is still helping me to rehabilitate my hair, but I highly recommend her if you need some serious hair rehab. She is excellent.

Ugh, I am so bummed to leave this review because I do actually really like this salon. I have gone here before and got my hair cut short and ombré and Vanessa totally nailed it. This time around I had Jessica and she did not listen to my direction at all.
I wanted to do a short bob with a blonde ombré, but somehow I ended up with dark brown highlights! I told her point blank «I HATE HIGHLIGHTS, I DO NOT WANT HIGHLIGHTS, I WANT AN OMBRE.» And yet, I walked out the salon with dark brown highlights on my already black hair. I understand that my hair was black and damaged, but that was the same condition that Vanessa worked with and Vanessa was able to deliver.
I really wanted to give this new hairdo a shot, but after two weeks of looking at it, I am just not happy. It is DEFINITELY not what I wanted and I feel like I absolutely wasted $ 200. This is the second worst salon result I’ve ever experienced. I am SUPER bummed. Ugh. Never again, NEVER again.

First, I want to start off by saying that my rating mainly reflects the manner of customer service and business I experienced when I came in two weeks ago for a haircut. This business is still fairly new and that was apparent to me.
I called in on a Monday because I was interested in getting a haircut and noticed that their website does not display any prices for cut, color, or any salon treatment. When calling in, I spoke with Bastian, who was very courteous and explained that their website was still under renovations. He advised that prices for a haircut are around $ 30 and clients usually have «consultation» before their hair treatment. I made an appointment to come in to have a consultation with Jessica the next day. When I came in the next day, I met with her and told her about the type of cut that I wanted. She was only under the impression that I was there for a consultation and not actual treatment. I told her that after speaking with Bastian, it was not explained to me that a consultation is a completely separate timeframe from my appointment. I also just assumed that consultation occurs right before any hair treatment. Jessica brought her manager out and she said that I was only put down for a consultation and that it completely separate from a haircut. I didn’t understand why I would have to come another day after a consultation just for a haircut. So, I asked if I could be accommodated the same day for a haircut as I noticed there were two other people in the salon with another stylist available. The manager said that they would accommodate me for a haircut with Jessica after she finished with another client. Along with the miscommunication, I was expecting to be offered something to drink (noted from the previous Unilocal reviews) and I was not offered anything, maybe the staff just forgot.
Despite all of that, the hair treatment I received was done well. Lily shampooed and conditioned my hair and she was gentle in handling my hair and friendly as well. She did a good job. The only thing was that resting my neck in the washbowl was really uncomfortable. I felt very tense when getting my hair washed.
Jessica, the stylist who cut my hair got what I wanted in my haircut. Her technique in layers and cutting was great and she had told me she had only been there for a month. I am quite pleased with how my hair turned out! But I think they could work on their customer service skills. I would consider going back.

Omg! Okay, I went in on a Saturday looking to go lighter on my naturally dark brown hair and there was a bit of a misunderstanding on what I wanted. I was freaking out because my hair didn’t exactly come out the way I had hoped and I noticed it was closed on Sunday’s and I had work Monday so I didn’t know how I was gonna try and fix it or whatever, & the owners contacted me Sunday morning and let me know I could go in to see what we could do.
First off, quality and professionalism goes a long way, and woah was I impressed. What salons now a days, are willing to help with something you are not liking?
And secondly, after contacting me they actually Opened the store for Me when they were Closed! It was so nice of the Managers/​owners to go out of their way for a customer like that.
After consulting with them they fixed the issue and I left extremely happy with my new hair color.
Their professionalism and kindness definitely shows they know what there doing.
I absolutely recommend this place and I know I plan to return with any hair related stuff I need done!

I made an appointment for today with stylist Jessica for a color and cut. My blue hair was looking faded and dull but Jessica made it look vivid and awesome! (I’m glad that this salon carries pravana colors!) I’m very happy with the haircut as well.
The salon looks very nice, clean, and chic. The environment was very relaxed and everyone seemed very friendly and professional. So far one of the best salon experiences I’ve had.

Super love my new hairstylist, LILLY!!! She did an amazing job. After lots of bad salon experiences in the past, now i found my place… Special thanks to Lilly and Bastian, the owner. Highly recommended! Will definitely go back!!!

I just pulled out Jazmin’s business card when I realized I had nit Unilocaled a review yet (although I did post one to LivingSocial). I appreciate the fact that Jazmin took me at a late hour and did not rush me through at all. She nearly lulled me to sleep while washing my hair! Then, she got my hair sooo straight (my hair is wiry curly, sort of like Rae Dawn Chong) that my boyfriend thought I’d bought a wig! Lol!
And the bonus of Bastian’s is that Bryan, who used to work at another salon, is also there. Bryan is super fast and gives you that Miss Clairol bouncin’ and behavin’ hair!

This is my finance’s regular hair salon !
We found it for him for our engagement and got hooked ever since! (More than a year now)…he always likes to go to «Pany”(spelling?)
She is a very nice and honest person. I once wanted to have her cut my hair short (boy cut), but she told me in all honesty that she doesn’t know how to do it quite well enlighten so she directed me to another stylist (Bastian himself)…which I really appreciated.

Lily did my hair and she did a good job baylaging orange tone to blonde. She quoted the cost before, total came out to 200ish but under 300. Took about 4hrs and she even recommended places to eat bc I was hungry and even picked up food for me. She was super nice and service was thumbs up. No complaints. Will be back for full highlights in a couple of months.

Pawne did ombré highlight on my hair for prepping the hair. The experience is good and the color she picked for me should have been good.
Well after a day or two, the color piece in the front left side looks like burnt and dried. It’s a large piece. Can’t say I really like that. :(I think just too much paint on the front.
Other than that, it’s ok mostly.

Wow, what a disappointment!
I called for a one-​color process. The only person available on that Saturday was Vanessa. I thought ok cool, at least I can use my 20% off coupon advertised on Unilocal.Wrong! The guy on the other line said the coupon only applied to walkin! Ok, no where along the Unilocal ad does it mention that, but whatever. My hair looks like a mess and I need it colored anyway.
So I came in on Saturday 4:30pm and was greeted by a friendly young man at the front desk. He ended up being the only saving grace of Bastian Salon. Otherwise, I’d give the salon one star.
Anyways, Vanessa and I looked through the color wheel and I pointed out to her that I wanted brown hair. I don’t want black hair because it’ll look way too fake on my skin. So we agreed to a medium brown with warm undertones, that way it would cover up all my highlights.
So after the coloring process, and then the nice gentleman washed and dried my hair, Vanessa proceeded to blow dry my hair and I’m pretty disappointed at this time. My hair is blacker than ever. God, this is exactly what I didn’t want. It looks straight up like a box dye job. If I wanted black hair, I would have saved $ 70 and bought Clairol from Walmart instead.
And more importantly, this girl can talk! I mean, nonstop talk. The entire two hours I was there I had to listen to her talk about her partying and drinking. Man, why did I come here??? It was anything but relaxing. I usually come to salons to destress and make myself feel better. She should have gotten my body language the moment I walked in. When the customer is subdued and not chatty, that means don’t bother her!
I entertained her and politely listened to her the entire time, but, it was one of the worst salon experiences ever. Not only does their service suck but their stylists can’t deliver either.

My fave salon by far! They are all so friendly and Bastian did an amazing job on my hair! I totally thought it was hopeless after all the coloring I did to my hair, but he made it happen! I’m so happy with my gray/​silver/​blonde hair! I finally found a salon I can call my home. Definitely will be back again.

This is beautiful salon with a great atmosphere and stylists that care.
I was a little unsure of what I wanted when I came in. I was torn between a shorter modern hair cut and letting my hair grow out. After consulting with Jazmine we found that I was looking for more control over my thick wavy hair to cut down on styling time through the growing out stage.
My hair came out great and Jazmine is a sweetheart.

My regular hairstylist has a 8 month waitlist and I wanted to lighten my hair a bit with balayage during that wait, so I Unilocaled and found Bastian Salon. Looking at the pictures, Pawnee seemed like their best colorist so I went with her.
I waited a couple days after my appointment to write this review for the colors to settle in. I’m pretty disappointed at the craftmanship of the balayage highlights, especially at $ 160+ (balayage + toner) which is more expensive than my regular stylist. The face-​framing highlights in the front are so choppy and doesn’t blend, so much that my friends commented on it. It’s easier to see in pictures than for me to describe it so I’ve attached pictures.
Her other clients’ pictures look fine so maybe it’s an isolated case? But for the price and what I got, I won’t be going back to Bastian or recommending it to anyone.

My first time here and let me tell you it was a great find. Loved my first experience with Lily. She is warm and inviting. Lily is extremely talented at doing hair, really listened to my ideas and found the perfect recommendation for my damaged hair. I can now say I trust her judgment as it relates to hair 100%.
I would recommend this hair salon to anyone. Please try it out, you will be satisfied with your experience. By the way, the music selection was outstanding.

Out with the blonde in with the dark brown. I came in with grown out brassy highlights and frail hair. I made an appt and met with Vanessa. She gave me a consultation on what colors she recommended and what she was going to mix. She was very quick and mess free during application. I’m thankful for her great personality and for keeping a conversation going.
I was truly satisfied with the outcome of the color and integrity of my hair after adding the olaplex treatment.
Shout out to the receptionist/​assistant (gentleman with the blonde) for being so funny! And knowledgable, and overall great customer service.
I came out of there less broke than I expected, plus the check in offer was a great discount.

I had an appointment at 10 AM for the one process color. The staff was friendly and my hair stylist is easy to talk to. Now, the reason why I’m giving this place only 2 stars is because I left upset.
I told them on the phone AND during the consultation that I wanted a red-​brown color (more on the red side). I was surprised at the limited colors they had… It was either red-​violet or orange-​red colors, or that’s what I was shown. I told her I wanted something that says «Oh, you dyed your hair but it’s not too in your face.» The red-​violet looked nice and she recommended it so we went with that.
I had blonde tips from outgrown balayage, so she toned it which I appreciate for $ 35. I also really enjoyed the head massage during the hair wash. Anyways, the entire process took 3 hours. At the end when she was blow drying my hair I was so disappointed. My hair looked the same!!! Keep in mind I came in with my natural, black Asian hair (except the blonde tips). She claims its dark, dark red but when I stepped outside into the sun my hair had only a tiny hint of red-​purple. It was my birthday weekend too! Nobody noticed I dyed my hair and even my boyfriend said it looked like nothing was done. My hair is darker now cuz of the toner (blonde is gone). I came in wanting red/​lighter hair not darker hair!
I paid $ 71+tip. I got 20% off with Unilocal Check-​in because my stylist’s name was on there. I should’ve seen this as a red flag because maybe she’s new so there’s a discount; seriously be careful and wary of your stylist’s name! I’m surprised they would get newbies to do new customers’ hair. I don’t mind paying a little more somewhere else if I’m happy with the results. I usually go to Regis but they’re too expensive so I tried this place out. Never coming back; not worth the time and price. Now I have to go somewhere else and pay more money to fix this!
Too bad. I think I would’ve been a regular customer if things worked out.

A bit of history prior to deciding to go Pixie
I have had magic straight prior in my earlier years. It was really convenient for my long and unruly hair so I wanted to do it again.
I found Bastian salon on Unilocal and figured I would go a more healthy approach to straightening. Yuko straight. I booked an appointment for a consult with Bastian.
Bastian informed me my hair was too damaged for yuko due to my highlight and ombré history. I was disappointed. He recommended a strand test if I really insisted. I went in a couple days later to get the strand test done. My hair did not pass and it all started to melt into mush (scary). Bastian gave me a couple options. Anti frizz as glaze would be a suitable option.
After thinking over it, I called Bastian and decided to have it all cut off. He booked the appointment for five days later and to bring photos.
I was excited and looking forward to my pixie cut. I brought him 60 digital photos and three photos of me in the past with very short hair. He customized what I liked in the photos to ensure it fit with my hair texture and face.
After two hours, all my dead hair was cut off and a healthier/​hipper more bad@ss look emerged. I am very happy with the cut and glad I do not need to spend hours on grooming.
