I had a wonderful experience at insight shooting range, the first time I came with my cousin. Then i invited my friend after I brought my brother then I brought my niece, it was her first time shooting. After my niece and I left she ask me if we could celebrate her birthday here instead of having a birthday party that made me happy because I knew she had a good time. A big thank you to all the staff every time I’ve gone they been very helpful.

So much fun, it was my first time shooting and I’m glad I came here. It felt like a safe environment and I know I’ll be back here soon.

Great place to take your friends if you’re in the area and want to go shooting! The store is pretty big and they have plenty of lanes to rent. If you want to have your guns cleaned they can do that as long as you’re willing to wait a day or two and come back to pick them up. Just be cautious of the surrounding area, there were some sketchy people around.

I’ve been here many a times and never had an issue. I recently picked up my CZ75SP-01 and brought it here to shoot. Brought in my own ammo(lane rental is $ 3 more if you bring your own ammo). Gets really busy on the weekends but I didn’t have to wait for a lane. Shot about 150 rounds and left. Great indoor range to shoot. I haven’t had any issues or hassles coming here. Just don’t bring your .223s or .308s. You have to buy their ammo and that could quickly get expensive. Also, they only allow these rifles on certain days.

Decided that my 24th birthday was as good a time as ever to have some fun exercising our 2nd Amendment rights… _____________ + Tucked away in an industrial-looking sort of corridor in Artesia, Insight is an excellent, no-fuss choice for both novices & more veteran shooters alike. We strolled right in and had no problem with setting up a lane for ourselves with no wait time whatsoever. + We were assisted by Vincent, who was both highly informative and very patient(thankfully) in terms of providing us with all the info we could possibly ask for(and there was plenty). Per his recommendation, we selected a Glock 9 as our firearm for the day — easy to manage, low-caliber, minimal fuss. Vincent gave us a quick but comprehensive refresher as far as how to properly handle & fire the weapon, along with a run-through of the range’s safety practices. He even threw in a bit of unexpectedly hilarious dry humor, just for the hell of it. + My GF’s only fired a weapon a handful of times before, and it had been a pretty long time since I had been out at the range, as well. I had to shake off a bit of rust in terms of my stance & technique, but I quickly found the muscle memory kicking in after firing off a few rounds. From there, Vincent provided both of us with minor tweaks and critiques as needed — but I definitely noticed the difference after we incorporated his suggestions. For two shooters sharing 50 rounds + renting the Glock itself, our total came out to approximately $ 60& some change. Not the most cost-effective means of stress relief out there, but well worth every penny! Insight is a professionally-run operation, and the range’s staff knows just what to do to make sure that you have a fun, seamless, and informative experience.

I came here about a month and a half ago with a friend as first time shooters. The guys were extremely helpful and answered all of our questions — they even repeated the gun handling procedures for us. I’ve read some of the other Unilocal reviews here about them being rude and to be honest, they are far from it. They don’t always have smiles on their faces, true, and can be a bit intimidating, but if you approach them with a question, or simple request, they are spot on. If they are inside the range with you they even come by and help you correct your form. I have been coming here for a couple of weeks now after work and the staff here has been great. Jake, Russell, Mario, and Vincent are all extremely helpful and curteous. I see their interactions with other guests and have not seen anything that would cause a redflag. I work in the customer service field and I wouldn’t come here, or recommend this place, if they had poor service. Just last week I brought 10 people in for my best friends birthday — all first time shooters– and the the guys working took care of everyone. Vincent made everyone laugh, and didn’t get annoyed with the fact that he kept having to repeat himself with all of us. Love this place! One of these days I am going to gain the courage to pick up a shot gun!

Very disappointed with this range. I’ve been a customer here for over a year… training with my instructor and the only time I can shoot at the range is during the WEEKEND. Well tonight the owner«arbitrarily» made it clear we cannot come during the weekend to train. We are very respectful of all their rules and we have higher standards for safety and are better shooters than the rest of the people that come in from the streets; shooting for the first time and not knowing the rules. It just didn’t make any sense. Anyway, I feel he didn’t value his customers so he’ll be LOSING a returning customer for life.

I’ve been coming here for years. My first visit was years ago to get my HSC(handgun safety certification) and that was a great overall experience. Throughout the years I’ve come here to shoot. I always bring my own guns and ammo. I never have rented and I find the range ammo prices to be rather high for reloads, but pretty much on par with other indoor ranges. The range isn’t the fanciest, but it gets the job done. Recently they started allowing .223 rounds, but only on certain days and you have to use range ammo. So I don’t really think it’s worth it. The range is on the smaller side. On the bright side since ft3 opened the lines aren’t nearly as bad here and on the days you know ft3 will be packed out the door this is the place to come. The staff has always been friendly and the range masters have always been there when needed. Overall it’s a solid indoor range, but sadly now a days it’s being shadowed by ft3 which by all means is the Ferrari of indoor shooting in SoCal.

Took the twins out the other night for some trigger time since I heard they recently allowed AR-15s. The rumor is true, however with restrictions. You can only shoot .223 caliber rifles Monday-Thursday and must buy their ammo, even if you bring in your own AR. They charge $ 10 for a bag of 20 .223 rounds. It’s great that we have another indoor range in the OC area that allows ARs, just wish there weren’t any restrictions like FT3.

Not bad for when I can’t make the venture out to my go-to outdoor shooting range. I really don’t like the whole brass only casings rule, but I get it.

It is insanely busy but pretty cool place. Overall a great experience, especially for a first timer but I deducted two stars for two reasons. 1. Customer service was«eh». The two gentlemen working the counter were not the most friendly. The main gentleman I was working with was stern and didn’t know how to smile. I want firearms to be taken seriously but couldn’t a little smile or personality go into the briefing. He was very monotone and sounded like a robot. The second gentleman I did not interact with too much. But I did ask him a question at the end about the glock 9 mm. I was thinking of buying but the glock jammed every few rounds. The beretta was great but the glock was crap. I asked if that is common for glock or just that pistol. He said, «it is probably the way you are loading it». Sure, I am new but I loaded several firearms that day and the glock was my only issue. 2. Pricing is confusing. I will post a screen shot from their website. It says $ 10 for rentals, $ 5 more if you want a long gun. They say it is a flat fee. I was charged $ 20 to rent two pistols, a rifle and a shotgun. Is it an extra $ 5 each time you shoot a long gun??? I thought it is a flat fee. I was charged $ 20 but should be no more than $ 15. This is, of course, after my wife had asked if there is an additional charge to change firearms. Anyhow it was intimidating but fun. What is more intimidating is putting newbies like us in between seasoned pros! We didn’t want to embarrass ourselves so we had some guards up hahaha I will be back but minor things can turn this place into a 5 star spot!

Super sick spot, it was my first time at a shooting range so I didn’t know what to expect. For all those going for the first time expect the following… When you get into the shooting room don’t go directly to you’re shooting booth, hold on a second and watch over people, let you’re ears & brain get adjusted to the noise around you. When you’re in you’re shooting booth & the person on the next booth shoots ITWILLSCAREYOUATTIMES! Even when you Are there for 20 minutes and you think you’ve gotten used to the noise. Have fun and

Shooting at a range has gotten pretty damn expensive, and this place is no different. This is your typical shooting range. Nothing to rave about. Pros: — Lots of staff to help you out. — Lots of lanes. — They process you pretty quickly as far as checking in. — Range is well ventilated. — Local gun range Cons: — Small parking lot, but there is street parking available.

First time here tonight. Saturday night. Kinda busy. Waited 30mins to get a lane. … But it was ok since I got to watch people. Everyone working there was very helpful and nice. We will for sure be back.

Came here for my first time shooting this morning! My boyfriend and I got there a few minutes before opening(11am), and they were already open. The guy at the front was helpful. He asked if it was my first time explained how to load the gun and all of that. We went with the smallest gun first, but switched to two different other bigger guns later on. It got crowded fast. My boyfriend went to switch the guns for us and said the guy explained the gun each time. They had someone cleaning up the shell casings and also a guy making sure people weren’t shooting too fast(one shot per second) which made me feel a little better. I was pretty anxious going in to all of this. We used three guns, two targets, and three packs of bullets and it came out to about $ 64. I would def recommend this place bc they are first timer friendly, but would def suggest early arrival!

* Lane rental: $ 15 per person & $ 10 for 2nd person sharing the same lane * Pistol Rental: $ 10(allow to switch out guns) & $ 16 for 50 rounds of 9 mm bullets * Shooting target sheet: $ 0.85 * Experience: Priceless As a first timer, I will say that it is such an intense and eye-opening experience. The shooting range is located near the somewhat shady dairy processing factory. Once our group walked in, the staff was able to tell that we were complete noobs and immediately went over rental prices. Before we stepped into the shooting room, the staff initially gave us a verbal tutorial on how to load a pistol magazine and push down the safety lever. After the quick tutorial, we figured out the rest by ourselves while we were in the shooting room; however, you can always ask the staff if you have any additional questions. We ultimately rented Glock 17(9 mm) because the staff said this one has the least recoil and I believe it is also the most commonly used gun for law enforcement agencies. Since it was my first time, the recoil was actually a lot stronger than I anticipated. I initially had some problems loading and unloading a pistol magazine, but I eventually realized that I had to press a button on the side of the hand grip to eject the magazine. Once magazine was loaded with bullets, I had to push down on the safety lever right above the magazine eject button before I can pull the trigger. The staff recommended not to load more than 5 bullets at a time for beginners. In addition, rapid fire is not allowed(firing more than 1 round per second) and everyone must wears eye and ear protection(the shooting room can get REALLYLOUD). At the end of the day, my hands were weak and I still had some issues dealing with gun recoils — I guess it will take some practices or lessons to get used to recoils. Definitely a very unique experience and ask tons of questions to maximize your experience here(and for your safety too). P. S. — Our group was assigned to lane 12, but we took the wrong lane(lane 16); however, the staff was cool about it.

My review is probably going to be biased because I come from Pennsylvania where I can shoot any gun with a license cheaper than it costs to come to this place.(Obviously in the woods with no other people in the way of harm or registered deer hunting areas) It’s a cute idea for first timers I guess. Or people who don’t go to other states. But the price is ridiculous. You’ll get a much better experience buying a cheap economy ticket to PA, registering for a license, and going deer hunting, I promise. Then you can shoot all the bullets you want(which cost cheaply at the stores), even supervised if you want to take a class for fun.. They have archery too. I wouldn’t come here but don’t take my biased review too personally.

Super fun experience! It’s a good deal if you bring your own equipment, ammo, and earplugs/goggles, though. :D There should be some kind of barrier behind the shooters so that the casings don’t hit/burn the people seated behind.

Hmm. This is probably the fourth time I’ve been here! So I finally decided to write a review. The staff was nice and friendly. I have nothing much to say about them. They seemed relaxed and helpful. Anyways, this shooting range is fun. It’s nice to get a little practice here and there. Plus it’s exciting! Who doesn’t wanna blow off some steam? Or just to take their mind of things? P. S. It can get a little expensive. So spend wisely!

Took Chinese New Year day off and decided to come to Insight Indoor Shooting Range to beat up some paper. I needed to test out my new guns and get back into the groove with my trusty Sig 40cal. This is my go to range even though it is not the closest to my house. There is plenty of parking, it has a nice lobby and the lanes are newer and cleaner. They do have a lot of rules regarding what kind of ammo you can use so make sure you bring the right kind or buy their range ammo. Next time? Soon, new guns testing part 2.
