They no longer have buffet. It is now turo-turo or combo plates.

Pretty good Filipino buffet. Quality meat pieces and choices for a budget buffet. Usually budget buffets skimp on meat pieces and choices. Definately worth the price.

Every time I come here the food is always cold :/Yes, cheap for a buffet($ 7), but I think I’d rather go to Pinoy Grill and just get a combo plate. If you have never tried Filipino food this is a good way to try their cuisine, but just keep in mind home made is always better! They have different items made with beef, pork, goat and even tripe and tendon! The flavors are very bold in Filipino cuisine. I always notice that their meat is quite fatty, I am always having to cut the fat off. Overall, passable food at a cheap price.

Come for breakfast! My initial impression wasn’t so great. Came with my mom and ordered take out. Great prices but the kare kare lacked tripe and the dinuguan was their saving grace. Lechon Kawali was good but I’d rather hit up Pinoy/Pinay for that. My second experience was to try the buffet and I was quite impressed. The variety at Nanay Gloria’s is amazing! And for $ 6.99 [FILIPINO] breakfast BUFFET, why not?! During breakfast there’s about 20 — 22 different dishes to choose from. My favorites are the adobo fried rice, the eggs fried hard, the Taiwanese sausage(not longanisa, boo), the spam, the beef tapa, the Ligo sardines, and the tocino! The breakfast buffet spills over to lunch items also. They probably have everything imaginable! They offer sisig, kare kare, adobong manok and pork, beef caldereta, pancit(no vegetables so it tastes a little bland), pusit, and so much more! It’s like a family party without the preparation! Personally, I love Magic Wok for breakfast and I love that it’s available all day but for the same price, you can hit up Nanay Gloria’s and have so much more!

Having tried NE Buffet in Torrance, CA I was sceptical to try another filipino buffet, but for the price why not? I say that for $ 6.99 this place isnt so bad. I was surprise that the food was good, but of course nothing like my mom’s cooking. They had quite a selection and it didnt seem as if it had been sitting there all day long. The restaurant looked clean inside even though on the outside it was not so appealing. Some of the selections included sisig, kare kare, fried chicken skin, beef steak, adobo, lechon kawali and pinkabet. I was craving filipino food so having filipino was a buffet. I was quite happy after this. I really liked the sisig and kare kare some of my favorite foods. They had a dessert area but it was filled with fruits. I was hoping they had some filipino desserts. Hopefully next time they do. I will probably be back again when i’m near the area and craving filipino food.

I never understood why there aren’t more Filipino Buffets, especially in the Southern CA area where there are so many Filipinos. The lack of Filipino buffets confuses for me two main reasons: 1) Filipinos LOVE buffets. If you don’t believe me, just go to any Chinese buffet like Todai or Hokkaido or QQ, and you will see a TON of Filipinos. 2) Filipinos love Filipino food. I know most Filipinos will swear by the cooking of their moms, aunties, and lolas, but that doesn’t stop them from going to Filipino restaurants like Max’s, Salo Salo, Magic Wok, Barrio Fiesta, etc. So if Filipinos love both buffets and Filipino food, why are there not more Filipino buffets??? I really don’t get it. Anyways, a few Filipino places in the area are starting to offer a buffet option. I know Josephine’s on 183rd near Thai Bbq has a lunch one and Goldilocks in the South & Gridley Plaza has one during the day(I think). Nanay Gloria’s is the first though to become exclusively a buffet for the entire day. I believe it was a point point joint before but now for $ 7, you can eat all the Filipino food you want! I went during the lunch hour a few weeks ago and there were about 10 – 12 selections to choose from. This included: Beef Tapa, Kare Kare, CHicken Adobo, Beef Kaldaretta, Lechon Kawali, Pinakbet, and a few others. The food was good but not amazing. I think by the time I got there, the food had been sitting out for awhile and it was starting to lose its freshness. It wasn’t bad at all, but I’ve had way more tender Kare Kare and Tapa. I think the secret is to come early right when the lunch items are served or when Breakfast is served. I really want to come for breakfast so I can get the true Filipino Breakfast: Garlic Fried Rice, Tapa, Pork Tocino and a fried egg or two. They also serve Longanisa and I think spam too. Overall, I’m glad to see that there is finally a Filipino Buffet in the area. I hope next time I can come earlier for Breakfast and if it’s lunch that they serve some sisig. Quick Tip: Don’t set yourself up for all you can eat Filipino desserts. They only serve fresh fruit here for dessert here, but honestly after all that oily and greasy Filipino food, you should probably be eating some fruits!

Plenty of food choices, especially meat. Lots of space and tables/seating. The employees also don’t bother me when I eat, which I like. Filipino channel plays on the television. Wish they had spaghetti though.

6.99 For Buffet? Really Now… Filipino Buffet?! YES! This place is from decent to above decent in food choices and flavor. They had sisig, fried chicken skin, kare kare, coconut beef, and more. This place was not busy when we went. It had alot of tables and seating. The people were helpful and kind. They didn’t eye us everytime we went to get more food. The drink selection was okay… bottle drinks. I tried this calamansi drink from a pouch and was SUPERSWEET. I would come here again if I’m ever very hungry and craving some filipino food. Give this place a try, and you won’t be dissapointed. Trust me. one of the better filipino buffets out there. And I’ve tried many.

Buffet = 3.5 Stars Today my family and I went to Nanay Gloria’s to feast on the AYCE buffet. The restaurant is located in an old strip mall on Artesia Blvd., right across the street from Cho Dang Tofu Restaurant. We arrived at 11:30 am, and started to walk towards the front entrance when I saw the«B», as in Better luck next time, food rating. I started to have doubts until I saw the other sign that states the buffet is $ 6.99. Only $ 6.99? It’s a no-brainer and we enter the restaurant where one of the servers tells us to sit anywhere. The restaurant is your typical no frills Filipino point — point joint with lots of tables. However, instead of pointing to the item you wish to purchase, you just scoop(as much as you want) the buffet dishes onto your plate… sweet. As we started our journey down the buffet line, I noticed there were no name labels for the numerous dishes. So, as I walked down the buffet line, all I hear from my son and hubby is, «What is that? … Is that chicken, beef, or pork? … What kind of sauce is that? … Is there shrimp in that? … Will I like that?» OMG, just put«that» on your plate and just TRYIT already! The AYCE dishes begins with the breakfast items such as garlic fried rice, longanisa, tocino, beef tapa, 2 kinds of dried fish, and corned beef hash. I sampled the longanisa and hash and both were ok. The remaining buffet dishes I had included: (1) Pancit Bihon w/Shrimp & Veges — Stir-fried rice noodles with shrimp, meat, and vegetables. Tasted fresh and was nicely cooked and seasoned. 3 Stars (2) Adobong Pusit — Baby whole squid in adobo sauce. The squid was very tender and delish. Just be warned that the transparent ribs of the squid are not removed before cooking. 3 Stars (3) Kare Kare — Chunks of tender beef(no oxtail), eggplant, and string beans stewed in a peanut butter sauce. This was my buffet fav dish because I luv the veges and could get as much as I wanted. Don’t forget your bogoong located at the end of the buffet line. The kare kare was tasty but the sauce could had been more savory. 3 Stars (4) Pinakbet — Veges(squash, eggplant, sitwa(long string beans) stew w/shrimp paste. Delicious! 3 Stars (5) Sisig — Chopped pork seasoned with kalamansi and chili peppers. Tasty but my sisig got buried under all of my other food selections, so it got a lil soggy… lesson learned. 3 Stars (6) Chicken Adobo — Cut chicken pieces(including the bones) stewed in a soy and vinegar sauce. 3 Stars (7) Deep Fried Salmon Slices — I was on my 2nd plate when one of the customers told me to try the fried salmon. The salmon just came out of the fryer so it was hot, lightly battered, salty, and bursting with flavor. 4 Stars (8) Maja Blanca — Filipino coconut & corn pudding. Creamy and yummy. 3 Stars (9) Steamed White Rice — Filipino Staple The other dishes I didn’t try but were included in the AYCE buffet: Creamed Gulay(Spinach), Pork Binagoongan, Ginataang Mungo, Ampalaya — Bitter Melon, Beef Mechado, Filipino Menudo, Fish Sinigang, Cantaloupe, Grapes, Honey Dew, Watermelon, and Orange Slices. Nanay Gloria’s offered 14 buffet dishes plus dessert(maja blanca & fruit) for $ 6.99. The total price for our lunch was $ 26.31 for 3 buffets and 3 sodas. A GREAT deal! Yes, the service can be friendlier and someone could pick up your dirty plates before you leave. Yes, the food temperature can be a lil hotter(umm, «B» — remember?). Yes, you will be scooping your ice cubes out of a cooler next to the water dispenser. Yes, you will be watching WOWOWEE and hear the clanking of everyone’s spoons and forks during your meal. However, it’s all bearable when you consider the $ 6.99 price. So, if you haven’t been invited to a Filipino party and have an appetite for Filipino food, go to Nanay Gloria’s and have your own party. The only thing missing will be the lechon, hard liquor, and your drunken uncle. The food earns 3 Stars but the price and numerous buffet selections adds an extra .5 Stars = 3.5 Stars

I don’t know if it’s 5 stars just because it’s the only Filipino buffet I know or 5 stars because it’s REALLYTHATGOOD, but benefit of the doubt wins in this case. At the very least though, there has always been fresh hot food everytime I’ve been here and a wide variety of food. Plus they have filtered water available at hand(a water cooler which I actually prefer so I can get as much water as I want — hey, it IS a buffet!), all the bagoong, vinegar and assorted sauces you’ll require, and a nice selection of fruit. They always have at least two choices of soup, and the tinola is delicious. The beefsteak has a nice spicy kick to it. No kare-kare when I went there today though, which one would’ve thought would be a Filipino buffet staple.

Filipino Buffet for $ 6.99 Friendly staff, no A/C, just a bunch of ceiling fans to keep the room cool, Bamboo decorations. The filipino channel is playing on TV. Food was good, kind of greasy. There’s about 10+ selections you can choose from. No desserts, just a fruit cart. Free water. They sell soda and the cantaloupe juice for $ 2.20(its good and refreshing!) I’m not sure if the menus are different for lunch and dinner. Overall, it was okay. I ate like 2 – 3 plates of food :)

The only reason I’m not giving this place a one star is due to the all-you-can eat or as the Pinoy’s say eat-all-you can! ;-) The buffet for $ 6.99 is a good price for the budget conscious. Now to the food, the heat lamps are far too close to the food! You literally will have to get there right when they are serving the newly cooked batch of food. Or else you’ll be having a variety of dried out adobo, apritada, etc. So in my opinion I think Nanay Gloria’s luto is laos na!

I have been here two times and each time it has been a pleasure. The first time I was blessed to have AYCE sisig which was made right and devoured instantly. The second time was AYCE beef steak with onion. I ate all of these dishes with tons of white rice and sabaw, ummmmmm, extra sabaw please, haha. QUALITYFOODFOR A GREATPRICE, you can’t beat that.

As I have mentioned in my other reviews, I am a picky eater. I dislike most Filipino food because of the ingredients. For example, I can not eat Kare-Kare because of the peanut sauce base. I also don’t eat Dinuguan because it’s made of pork blood. Nor do I eat Sisig or Papaitan. I avoid anything that has Bagoong(fish paste) in it and I don’t understand why some people like it so much. I think it smells nasty. Anyway, enough with the dislike. I like this place because they serve enough of the dishes that I actually like. First off the line would be Pansit. There are different varities of Pansit based on the ingredients and sauce used. I like Pansit Palabok the most and they sometimes have it. I know that it spoils easily and the other type of Pansit is more suitable for a buffet. If you get there early in the day, they will have an assortment of processed meat that Filipino breakfast staples. This includes spam, longganisa(sausage), tapa(thin beef slices), and tocino(cured pork). Of course, breakfast would not be complete without fried rice and egg. Lunch and dinner dishes are a bit different. You still eat them with rice, or not. Your choice, but the Pinoy way to do it is with lots and lots of steamed white rice. I like any of their veggie dishes except those that have Bagoong. I also like any of the dishes that have tomato sauce as base ie. Menudo, Mechado, and Afritado. Please note the Menudo served here is unlike those served in Mexican restaurants. The Filipino version uses lean meat and may include raisins. I would have given this place a 4-star but they have recently been rated down to a «B» Still wondering what their violations are. hmm. A note of caution, it might be inevitable for those who are not used to this kind of cooking to spend some time in restroom within hour(s) of eating from here. It has happened to almost every other non-Filipino guest that I bring here :(

Woohoo for a $ 6.99 buffet and a @filipinofood $ 6.99 buffet too. I discovered the place on the way home from Vegas. We went around 10:30 am and there were already a bunch of items for lunch. They had plenty of food! Among the items were kare-kare(filipino meat dish with peanut butter broth), picadillo(ground beef with quail egg), tocino(sweet pork), longanisa(sweet sausage), pork adobo, chicken in coconut milk, fried chicken skin, garlic rice, pancit(noodles) and much more. I’m not used to seeing a Filipino buffet with so much food. It was really awesome. There was so much selection to choose from. The only thing is they don’t offer any Filipino desserts. Off to the side they do have a fruit cart filled with ice. Unfortunately because we were early, the didn’t have the fruit ready yet. I also loved the overall décor of the place too. It was very Filipinana. They had bamboo decorations and a bright yellow wall. The place is decently sized and very clean. Another couple stars for that :). I really enjoyed my first time at this restaurant. I’ve actually tried there branch in Vegas(that one is also pretty good) but I found this place to not only have more food offerings. The Cerritos branch also seemed to be bigger and cleaner. I can see myself coming back here. The buffet is really a good deal for $ 6.99. You will leave happy, full and content.

If you are in the Artesia area, there are many Filipino restaurants to choose from, but if you want to try a place where you don’t have to worry about the wait, then go to Nanay Gloria’s for traditional Filipino food. I suggest getting the lechon and don’t forget to ask for the dipping sauce. For 2 combos which consisted of 2 entrees with 2 scoops of rice, it cost just under $ 10. The parking lot is small, but surprisingly, I have never seen this shopping center full. The 91FWY is conveniently located close by on Norwalk Blvd. So if you’re like me and would prefer to get Filipino food as a takeout order, then go to a place where the line is not too long, Nanay Gloria’s off of Artesia Blvd. and Norwalk Blvd.

When it comes to dining out, I always enjoy the company of others. Okay, you got me, I can’t eat out alone! It’s part fear, embarrassment, or bad luck, something of that sort. However on one faithful day I ventured to eat here, by myself. I don’t know if it was to prove that I could eat out alone or driven by hunger, maybe a little of both. It was around 5 p.m. and I just got off work. I had eaten here previously already, but that was on a to-go order, and I remember it was a good meal. The place was empty when I entered, not a customer in sight. I guess I was early for dinner, So I paid for my meal, waiting further instructions. None. The lady just took my money and started watching the news program on the T.V. So I asked her if I should just start eating. She said yes and continued watching and chatting with some other voice coming from the back of kitchen. Minus one star … So I found where they had the plates, and proceed to the rice. Yes, rice, the staple of every asian /pacific islander’s meal. It was under a heat lamp so I thought, umm. warm. nice… eegggghh wrong! Heat lamp + rice + an hour or two = hard stale rice. tisk tisk… minus one star. I continued to fill my plate with all the various pork related dishes. Pork that, Pork this. Yum. It reminded me of going to my relatives parties were they have a buffet of Filipino food and you serve yourself. I stayed away from the fish though, since I’m not that big a fan of fish. Yes, I’ll eat, and I enjoy fish sometimes, but when the decision comes down between fish and meat. well… meat always wins. The freshness of the items were in question, because I’m pretty sure they have been out just as long as the rice. However, I find that Filipino food tends to taste better if it sits out a little, so all the«ulam»(main dishes) were still tasty. So eating alone is not bad, however, is not as enjoyable, without the conversation and laughter. Eating became a task instead of an enjoyable activity. Lesson learned, check. I must warn however, as another reviewer stated, Filipino food is greasy!!! This thought didn’t occur to me until I finished my third helping and my stomach felt queasy. My bad. I also noticed that I was full, but freaking thirsty. That was probably because no one bothered to offer me a drink or even were the water was. Needless to say, I didn’t tip, because there was no service to tip for. So recap, great for take-out, buffet no go, unless you don’t need service or don’t eat rice. And never eat out alone.

You really can’t beat the price for an all-you-can-eat Filipino buffet. Their sabaw(soup) is delicious. Their fried fish is perfection. We took a HUGE party here(60 people) and they were able to accomodate us. They also have sweet pastries available. It’s really worth a try if you’d like to try authentic Filipino food. Sorry but I had to –1 star, visited this place last week for lunch and the food was cold. Ew.
