Quest Studio

My son has recently expressed interest in performing. Raised in Cerritos, I felt Quest can train him in hip hop at the level I expected. I have continued to be IMPRESSED! He has only taken 3 classes with Ervin and we love it. He reminds them when to incorporate their own style/​swag. He shares what his mentors have taught him, in ways the kids understand. He teaches that this isn’t just about choreography, it’s about hearing the music, feeling it inside, and expressing it. I appreciate his enthusiasm for the music and craft.
Signing up for classes is really convenient. We do it online and pay with scrip because they accept Spafinder (and we get school credit ;) My son signs in w a small quest card on their little iPad… and mama gets to snack in the café or watch the class.
It’s been a great addition to our weekly schedule. Looking forward to exploring more of what Quest has to offer.

My 13 year old girl who has no previous dance experience told me about Quest Studio close to two years ago. She found out about Quest Studio from her school via her school dance team director. She had no other extra curricular interests except for the usual summer swimming classes and no matter how many times I offered to enroll her in other extra curricular activities, she would decline. So I was unbelievably surprised to see her enthusiasm to volunteer to take dance classes at Quest Studio. It has been close to two years now that she has been taking dance classes as well as the Summer Intensive Dance Workshops at Quest and the same enthusiasm is there. The studio is located on the first floor of the Quest Learning Center Building, where they have their own parking lot with ample parking space. There are three dance studios and all are very clean and well ventilated. They offer a variety of dance classes and my daughter has been taking hip hop as well as contemporary and jazz. The instructors are knowledgeable and experienced in their respective dance genres, are very capable of sharing and teaching as instructors as well as being very friendly and accommodating. My daughter has developed so much self confidence! Also wanted to add, that I actually took one of the hip hop classes and very much enjoyed it and looking forward to taking their new Cardio Hip Hop class.

Awesome experience! As a San Diego resident, I’m now in search for a studio that will live up to Quest! We first heard of Quest through family members who had participated in one or more of their classes. As we are often visiting family who live in the area, we’ve had the opportunity to watch a few of their productions. So, when we heard that Quest was hosting a summer dance camp, we made plans to visit family for the same week and enrolled her! My daughter participated in the Quest Summer Intensive program which is a 4-​day camp offering students their choice of classes in several genres of dance. As a beginning hip-​hop student, she chose to follow the hip hop track — she was exposed not only to so many facets of the genre but to its history as well. My daughter is considerably shy but the studio directors (Lauren and Loretta), the instructors, along with their «regulars» truly went out of their way to make her experience so memorable. I was amazed at her enthusiasm for class and the instructors’ abilities to gently coax her to challenge herself. She received Most Improved for the week and it truly showed in her participation at the camp’s culminating performance. She left camp feeling proud, inspired, and hungry for more.
After being a member of her current dance studio for the last 10 months, my daughter has asked us to find a dance studio just like Quest here in San Diego. I’m in awe that she wants to leave what’s comfortable for something different — but better. In her own words, she said she wants to grow and be challenged by instructors that really know hip hop.
Located on a corner off of Artesia and Elaine Ave., Quest is conveniently located, parking is easy (the lot always had openings but there is also street parking on the side), rates are reasonable, the studio rooms are maintained well, and the staff is phenomenal!

After doing much research on various dance studios in the area for my 13 year old daughter, I decided to try Quest. This is due to my interaction with the director and co-​owner Lauren Reyes. I had a million questions and she answered every one promptly. She is a sweetheart! Many other studios didn’t even return my call. My daughter, Madison, attended the Summer Dance Intensives this week from 9 – 3 pm. She had an amazing experience! All of the instructors she had were excellent. It was a lot of work but she made new friends and had so much fun! She signed up for beginning Jazz/​Contemporary. However, she was encouraged to try something new at the end of each day and she tried Hip-​Hop! She said she really appreciated this encouragement because it was lots of fun! There is even a café on the premises that serves delicious food! We highly recommend Quest Studio!

OMG!!! My children just finished a four day, Summer Intensive Program at Quest Dance Studio. I enrolled my son for the complete four days and my daughter for two, because she was out-​of-​town. First, the Summer Intensive was reasonably priced. Many dance studios offer summer intensives for over twice the amount that I paid! Not to mention, the classes were in contemporary, jazz, and various styles of hip hop. The kids had such an awesome time and learned so much!
Next week, they will be having auditions for their dance teams. My kids are sure to participate! They love this place!

I wanted to prepare a meaningful number for my mom’s 70^th birthday so I sought out local dance studios/​instruction and came across this one by word of mouth. It was perfect. At first I thought it was just an education center but the place was filled with dance floors galore. They had a small room, (blue room) medium room, (green room) and large ballroom. Since it was my boyfriend and I only, we rehearsed mainly in the blue and green rooms. Our instructors, Lauren and David were very professional and patient. With their extensive experience in dance, I trusted them every step of the way. I hadn’t danced in years and they took their time with us. The price for instruction was reasonable. The rooms all had nice flooring, air conditioning, and wall-​to-​wall mirrors big enough to see my flaws. :) If you should get thirsty there is a café on the premise to quench your thirst and ample parking on the property. Also if you need to rent the studio to practice or have a social event, the studio could cater to your needs. Lastly my dance number needed a few dancers to make us dazzle even more, I hired dancers from this studio to perform with us and it was perfect. Mom loved it and I will highly recommend this studio out to my friends and family. Thank you Quest Studio!!! xoxoxoxo

Poor management. Just took my daughter here probably 3 times now because she likes to learn the hip hop dance. The first time I took her, the teacher was a kid, younger than my daughter, who’s 13. I watched the 50 minute dance class and wonder if this is a place to really learn hip hop dances. The kid can dance, no doubt, but the teaching, not sure. My daughter learned the dance routine because she’s quick to pick up the dances but was not pleased. Since my daughter wanted to come to this Studio, we tried it again. For first timer, the class is $ 5.00. After that, it’s $ 15 per class unless you buy the discounted group of classes. Every time, my daughter comes, it’s a different dance instructor and I’m not sure if they are student volunteers. Today, we arrived at the place and it was a bit empty. When I asked the receptionist if the intermediate hip-​hop is on, she said yes but waiting for the door to open. We waited and waited, the dance room that the intermediate dance room didn’t open. I thought I’ll just join the zumba class that will start at 6:30 pm. It was about 6:25 pm when I checked the room for the Zumba class, I noticed that there were kids starting to warm up. I went to the receptionist to ask what class it was and she said, intermediate hip-​hop. The class that suppose to start at 6:00 pm started at 6:25 pm? My daughter was waiting for this class since 5:55 pm! We left upset because I didn’t feel like paying for $ 15 a class for a 40 or 35 minute hip-​hop class. My daughter really wanted to come to this Studio and even invited friends to the class but if this is how they manage this studio, it is poor management. For the 3 times that my daughter attended the class, the class that suppose to start at 6 pm, didn’t start 10 minutes later. There are constant interruptions from regulars coming in and out of the dance room while the 6:00 pm class is going on. What a waste of our time when we have to drive 25 minutes to get to this place.
To the management of Quest Studio, please review how you run your business.

Loved the Thursday night contemporary dance class. I was the oldest one there, but it was a perfectly challenging enough class for someone like me with a little bit of a dance background but who has not really had the chance to hone her skills. Everyone was super friendly and I felt very comfortable there. I will be coming as much as I can!

Took my child here for the beginner hip hop class… Loved it!
Front desk young lady was super sweet and answered all my questions about upcoming classes. We had a rather large class that was moved into a larger room before the class started so we spent our one hour actually dancing in a room that provided space with no delay of class time.
Instructor was funny, engaging of the smaller kids, and well prepared. He let the smaller ones stay in front so they could see. His choreography wasnt too hard to pick up, yet still left them with a challenge to work on and my child was still working on it days later. Great moves and musicality was taught. There was a good mix of dance level in the class and age range as well. The youngest looked about 5 or 6 and the oldest was maybe in his late 20s.
There are some «off the menu» events not on the website like the social dancing Friday nights. It would be nice to know about these from the website to promote more potential partners for those that go.

I take Alanna’s Barre Class Mondays and Tuesdays and I absolutely love it! So much fun, with up beat music and and excellent teacher! You get such an awesome work out! And it’s super easy for beginners! I love the class more and more each time I go! Definitely recommend this class to everyone!

So uh, this is super late, but yeah. Honestly, Quest Dance Studio is much more than just another dance studio. Quest gives dancers an opportunity to share what they love and a place for people, of all ages, to come and take classes and just have fun. There have been so many prestigious people come through the Quest studio and its a shame that some people haven’t even heard about it.
Truly a place worth checking out and taking classes at :)

This is my fourth home now, after my real home and my best friend’s houses. Honestly I wish i started hanging out at Quest earlier cause I have met some of the coolest and most awesome people there as well as the greatest dancers around the area who teach and share with you their talents. I just began learning to dance and the only reason i did was because the atmosphere there just draws you into it and you can’t help but to try a little bit and before you know it you’re taking class and learning things you’d never know you’d be willing to try before.

Quest is super dope and has amazing classes!

Oh man… where to start? This place is literally my 2^nd home in the summer, and its DEFINITELY not your average dance studio. Basically what happens is that there are classes for many different forms of dance (jazz, ballet, and many different hip-​hop styles like popping, house… I could swear they even have a k-​pop class at some point). I’ve been coming here since I first got in to hip-​hop dancing, and if it wasn’t for this studio and its classes, I would’ve never discovered something I love doing.
Classes are well-​priced, considering what you’re getting. 10 bucks for 1hr-​2hrs of learning something AND being around some very notable dancers? Not only that, but everyone is there to help you get better. Also, its flexible because you don’t have to commit to a whole summer camp idea… So if you need to miss a class, you can always go to a different class that same week, because there’s literally something or the other happening EVERY DAY. Every time I take a quest class, I come out a better dancer than I was before.
What sets Quest studio apart from most dance studios is that everyone is so willing to help you out. Often times, I walk up to the instructor after class and ask them «what can i do to improve?» I once asked a teacher how i could get better at controlling my movements, and it led to a half-​an-​hour long conversation in which I learned so many new things.
Also, after a hard day’s work of choreography or taking class, you can always just walk over to the café which is literally 5 steps away from the studio, and grab a Boba to quench your thirst.
How do you know if I’m reliable? Well, I used to be a dancer for this studio’s junior team: Q-​Minor, and as I mentioned before, I’ve been taking classes here since the summer of 2010.
