This place is the worst for straight perm! Beware of the damage that will be done to your hair!
I have a slight wave to my hair. It’s not major but for the sake of saving extra minute in my morning, I wanted to get a straight perm done. I called and spoke to Sunny who said «Come on in!»
At the time I went, there were no customers. I was seated immediately after changing into a gown and Sunny worked on my hair with no hesitation. Halfway through applying the relaxer into my hair she asked, «Did you get highlights?» Ummm yes… I didn’t think that would be a game changer. But she continues on anyway with my hair. Plus, I thought she should have assessed the condition of my hair and asked questions PRIOR to the actual straightening process. It was too late by that point.
So 2.5 hours later Sunny straightens my hair with a straight iron and tells me not to wash my hair for at least 48 hours. I listen obediently. I washed my hair on the thIrd day and my hair is ten times worse than it was before going to this salon. All the ends of my strands are frayed, frizzy, and into split ends. The texture of my hair feels like sand paper and if straight was the look I was aiming for, it’s curvier now than before. The «highlighted» hairs have essentially wilted into a curly mess from the chemical process and now there’s a bunch of knots in my hair.
I hate this place so much! These ladies care nothing about the outcome of your hair. They were too busy twiddling their thumbs on a Saturday and when they saw their only customer walk in, they pranced at the opportunity despite knowing the risks.
Now I plan on dishing out even more money to go to a qualified hair stylist who can salvage what’s left of my hair and at least give me a stylish cut.

I just told the nail artist I wanted leopard and keep it simple. She picked out all the colors and designs. How beautiful

I love this place. The owner Nina is young, vibrant and sweet. Sunny the hair designer that cut my hair is wonderful. I love my hair. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I got magic straight at this place and they did a great job! I got magic straight for the first time a little over a year ago at another hair salon and they completely ruined my hair. However, south street beauty hair salon did a really good job reviving the quality and silkiness of my hair! It costed me a fair $ 180 for the magic straightening and trim! The hair stylists are very friendly and I’ve seen many customers come and go satisfied with their hair or nails done. Highly recommend this hair/​nail salon!

I got turned away 3 times for wanting to have a gel manicure/​pedicure here. Apparently the lady who turned me away does do nails but only for the customers that look like they have money. Girls if you want to be respected please come dressed up and appear like you have money. The lady even messed up my boyfriends haircut. Overall AVOID if possible. I wish I could leave a negative star review if possible.

So I found out about this place because Nina Cho added me on Facebook, and the 50% deals got my attention. I messaged her through Facebook and I even made an appointment.
The place itself is so cute! I love the interior!
The owner and the staff are all so sweet. Very good customer service.
Right now, Nina is the only nail worker, and she said they they are mainly open for hair. I am considering getting my hair done here, since I was very satisfied with my gel nails!

The staff were very polite and courteous. They offered refreshments right away. They made you feel comfortable and relaxed. The atmosphere was very bright which gave off a carefree and light vibe.
Sunny was my hair designer. Many stylists have tried to color my hair and I’ve always come out orange. The first thing I told Sunny was «NO orange pls» and right away she knew what to do. She knew the cut that looked good for my face and hair type. I absolutely LOVE the cut and color she gave me I almost want to post a picture of myself (almost).
I would definitely recommend this salon to a friend/​family member. See you next time Sunny!

Newly renovated and with a new owner. I bring my son here for his haircuts with Julie. She is amazing with my son (3 years old) and does a really great job with a fade. My son gets mohawks, faux hawks, fades, side designs. etc from her. She knows exactly what we want and is very patient.
It’s a little pricey for a child’s haircut but I am happy with her service and style.

I Took my 2 yr old daughter there for a haircut last weekend. My daughter hates getting her haircut at the salon near my house and I figure I’ll try a different place. My daughter absolutely loved the place! You had a lot of snacks and everyone played with her. I even had to to get a haircut next to her! It was great. This will be the family salon from now on.
