Martinizing Dry Cleaning

If I could give it less than one star I would. I’ve always had some sort of problem when I brought items in — I was either overcharged, cleaned sweaters had shrunk and they couldn’t explain how it happened or know how to correct the problem. When I asked for a manager or store owner I was told that the manager was never there and that the store owner hadn’t been there in 6 months.
My previous experience will be my last. I took a total of 8 items in for dry cleaning and was told they would be ready the next day. When I went back late the next day, all of my items were bundled together and so I could not tell if all 8 were there. I was missing 2 wool sweaters but I didn’t realize it until after the store had closed. I had to wait until they opened Monday morning to see what had happened and the very rude employee (manager) brought my 2 uncleaned sweaters out to me. She said they weren’t sure how to clean them and wanted me to take responsibility if they had a problem cleaning them. I said no, I’ll take them with me and she seemed surprised that I didn’t want to leave them. I asked why they didn’t call me to ask about the sweaters to begin with and she said «Why would we?» Really? They have a D rating with the BBB, for what it’s worth but I hope that based on all of these bad reviews, customers stop giving them their business. They are overpriced and have this sense of entitlement that if you don’t like it, too bad, we still have plenty of business. If you value your clothes enough to have them dry-​cleaned, go somewhere else that appreciates your business and treats you with respect.

This place sucks… I dropped off my clothes on Monday, and was told they would be ready Tuesday. When I tried to pick them up Tuesday, I was told some of the machines had been broken for a few days, and my clothes were not ready – they had been taken off site to their other location. They promised to get me at least one shirt by Wednesday morning, because I had to take photos for my website, but failed to do this as well. So, a week later and three trips to pick up my stuff, I was offered at whopping 10% discount.
With all the bad reviews of this place, it is clear the owners don’t care that they lost a customer over $ 30.

I used Martinizing for awhile. Though higher priced than other places in the area, I thought they did a generally good job, and the front-​desk staff were friendly and professional. Then, they destroyed 2 pairs of VERY expensive trousers. The owner refused to reimburse more than about half of what it cost to replace the trousers. I should’ve found a different cleaners then, but for some reason, decided to give them another shot.
Just recently, I walked in to pick up my order, about the time another customer was in, pointing out that they had ruined 4 of the 5 shirts he’d left in their care. Checked my own order, and sure enough, one of my shirts was damaged in the same way. The clerk apologized, said they’d have it mended. Oh, and not all of my order was done. Not a big deal; came back the next night, and everything else was done (no damage, thankfully). However, they’d contacted the owner, who claimed that the damage to my shirt was a defect, not his fault. Makes me wonder what he must have told the other guy about his four shirts, that were all damaged THE SAME WAY. A rash of manufacturing defects, in different garments from different manufacturers, very likely made at different times? That would be quite a coincidence.
The owner hires staff who are still professional and friendly. The owner, himself, won’t return phone calls, and apparently won’t keep his equipment maintained, either. If he worked as hard to provide high-​quality service as he does deflecting responsibility for the damage that seems to happen in his shop more often than it should, then I would be writing a very different review. That was twice for me. I’ll be finding different dry cleaner.

When this cleaners first opened they did a very nice job and the staff was very professional. In the last year service has been terrible. They are changing their ‘system’ they said. Yesterday, I went in to pick up my normal order of shirts. First, they had a difficult time finding the shirts and then proceeded to question me about the previous weeks order, claiming they had no record of me paying for the order?!
They then charged my credit card for both orders only giving me receipt for one, claiming the old system couldn’t print receipts anymore?! I asked for a hand written receipt. The clerk then told me if in my records I found that they double charged me bring proof in and they would reimburse… gee thanks I thought. I went home and found the old receipt proving that I’d already paid, and immediately returned to the store with my «proof». The manager says «oh hmmm, well what the hell?» Really, that’s the best she could do?! They wouldn’t reimburse me just gave me credit on the system, by the way with no receipt. I wasted at least 45 minutes with this mess and frustration. I’ll return to pick up my last cleaning order, hopefully use my credit and NEVER RETURN!!!

I took a formal dress here to be cleaned for a new-​years party. It has a sparkly, rhinestone diamond broach on the front, and is made of black satin. I dropped it off on a Tuesday the week before I needed it. They swore they’d have it done by Friday, but I wasn’t too concerned as I didn’t need it until the following Wednesday. I went to pick the dress up on Monday, and the lady said «oh, was the broach broken when you brought it in?». Uh, no, of course not. But they hadn’t bothered to call me to tell me it had been damaged. Good thing I came in early to pick it up.
The lady said she’d have the manager call me. The manager never called, so I called them. They said they’d fix the dress that day (Monday). Tuesday evening I called and asked if they had made the repairs. They hadn’t even started, so I just went to pick up the dress. They said they’d reimburse me for the replacement broach, but even though I produced the recipe for the replacement on the spot, they never did.
I was really surprised to see that the broach had broken, it really isn’t delicate at all; it’s made of metal. I’ve had it dry cleaned several other times at other places and never had an issue. They must have pressed or otherwise exhibited quite a bit of force on it to break. The satin on the dress had also been snagged in several places when the metal broke. In general the dress is pretty much ruined.
There are several other dry cleaners in the area that have much better service, quality and prices. Please save your clothes and don’t bother with this place.

$ 15.99 for ONE winter jacket to be dry cleaned?
The pricing is ridiculous and the jacket still had lint all over and didn’t smell good like it did from my last cleaners.
The prices alone are enough to keep me away.

Took my jacket in to get a new zipper put in. It keeps coming back from where they are sending it with the original zipper, and even the new pull they tried to put on falls off. The FOURTH time it has come back broke, they had sent it back before I got there, but I have just asked they get my jacket back so I can take it somewhere to get it fixed before winter is over…
I also took in a 1 pair of pants and 1 shirt, which came to right under $ 10. Way over priced for dry cleaners!
Way over priced, and terrible work. Pass!

My current dry cleaner does a great job but is off the beaten path. My wife saw these guys and recommended that I stop by since it is on my way.
Terrible.
Went to the website to see what pricing was, you have to email for a price list. Dropped of some clothes to be mended, asked for a price list, no dice. Pick up my slacks and they are about 40−50% more than down the street and poorly done. Had pants lengthened, stitches were still in it. Sloppy work.
Seriously horrible work. When I called to get them fixed, it took a day but still was poorly done. When I called to get resolve, I got passed around to the manage who did nothing.
Unprofessional and shocked they are still in business.

I took several shirts, a sweater and a pair of brand new slacks there for cleaning. The slacks I had not yet worn because I needed them hemmed. After paying $ 60 to have 5 things dry cleaned and 1 pair of pants hemmed I was told they would be done Tuesday. Tuesday they were not done, I came back Wednesday– not done. I was told that the seamstress only works on the weekends so it would be next week. All done it took two and a half weeks and when I got my $ 100 slacks back the hem was crooked. I asked them to fix it and they had it ready the next day, however in removing the hem they damaged the pants. There are now multiple frayed holes from the original hem. I was so frustrated I just left– and won’t go back.

Let me say I have always had a good experience with my dry cleaning; that being said, not such a good experience with alterations. Because I had started using the dry cleaning service I wanted to also use them for minor alterations — as I had at my last dry cleaners. My husband has a 35″ inseam. We buy his pants with a 36″ inseam and when they start to wear on the bottom I have the cleaners turn up the hem 1″ to get a 35″ inseam. This has never been a big deal at previous places and I was told no problem by the sweet girl that took the order.
When I picked up the pants they had been cut and had an odd ¼’ hem. Really strange. I said that was odd and not what I was expecting or had asked for. I was told they could be redone and they would call upon completion. Nobody ever called. I picked up the pants for the second time and it was still an odd hem and the pants were then too short to be worn. I asked for the owner to contact me because I would like to be refunded the alteration and the dry cleaning charge ($ 22 per pair). Again nobody called. So, I had to replace two pair of pants and was out $ 44 and my time of three trips to the cleaners.
For a company that says they are all about customer service I would say — not so much.
