Apt Orthodontics

I don’t have Hollywood looks, but now, thanks to Dr. Apt and his staff, I have a Hollywood smile!
I never thought at my age I would have braces, but a dental extraction necessitated the use of aligners to keep my jaw and mouth properly shaped, and Dr. Apt was the hero that made it happen. Today, I wore my InvisAligns for the last time! I was fit for bonded retainers and will be coming back for nighttime retainers next week.
Dr. Apt’s entire staff deserves commendation. From Elizabeth at the front desk, to Toni, who takes the pictures, to Rachel who attached the bonded retainers, everyone is friendly, professional and highly skilled. I imagine Dr. Apt, with his penchant for perfectionism, would have it no other way! My interactions with Apt Orthodontics have always been pleasant, efficient, and satisfying. If I could give more than five stars, I would.
As a postscript, my daughter was a patient of Dr. Apt’s back when she was in high school. She just turned 34 and is a mom. I told Dr. Apt that he should be watching for my granddaughter as a patient some time down the road…
Oh, a post-​postscript: I have had some trouble connecting to Dr. Apt’s free in-​office wi-​fi network. But I’ve never had to wait to be seen long enough for it to make a difference. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My son is in the military and broke his permanent retainer while on deployment (the military does not offer orthodontic services), he lives out of town, but the staff was nice enough to fit him in. Today at his appointment with Dr. Apt, he was given a military discount… which was 100% covered! Thank you Dr. Apt for supporting our military. Not only is he a great guy, he is the best Orthodontist!

Since 2006 my family and I have been patients of Dr. Apt. Each family member’s treatment plan has been different from the other, whether that involves traditional metal braces, Invisalign, palatal expanders or ceramic braces. Dr. Apt accommodated my post-​operative recovery of multiple spinal surgeries and a lower jaw surgery, which had a big impact on my original treatment plan. The Ashburn office space is new, modern, well-​equipped and comfortable. The Treatment Coordinator, Patty is wonderful along with the technicians who are courteous and friendly.
Dr. Apt has partnerships in place with VA Dental Solutions and Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. When I had lower jaw surgery, or when my son required emergency care, the coordination among the practices was excellent as nothing fell through the cracks.
I’ve known Dr. Apt (Kolman) for ten years now and consider him a friend. Nonetheless I want to recognize him for his leadership and devotion in an emergency, after hour’s situation. My 14 year old son suffered severe trauma to four of his front teeth during an evening HS basketball game. Since he is currently a patient of Dr. Apt’s, we immediately called for advice. Less than an hour later we met Dr. Apt at his office in Herndon. To my surprise there was also a senior Dentist, Dr Martinez, from VA Dental Solutions waiting for us (full disclosure: Dr Martinez is my Dentist). Unbeknownst to us, Dr. Apt had arranged for Dr Martinez to assist with the emergency. The Drs. immediately went to work on my son, turning around a very unpleasant and delicate situation. Dr Apt personally briefed/​coordinated with Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to ensure that my son would be seen the following day (day before Thanksgiving). The Oral Surgeon concluded that Dr. Apt’s quick response and skill likely saved three out of four teeth and gave the fourth tooth a fighting chance to survive. As a parent it’s hard to express my gratitude for the care of my son.
As a former patron myself, parent of a current adolescent patient, and husband of a former patient, I highly recommend Apt Orthodontics.

We highly recommend Dr Apt and his team! Our son had an extremely difficult challenge with 3 extra teeth, twisted teeth and large overbite. He was in braces for several years, but the end result could not have been better. What a transformation Dr Apt has made, and it shows in his spectacular smile!
Throughout the process, Dr Apt and his team were very flexible with Appointments, ready to answer any question, and guide the parents and patient with expectations. We had complete trust and confidence with Dr Apt!

Unilocal is right when you click the five stars, this Orthodontist is as good as it gets. We will forever be grateful for his expertise in correcting another orthodontist mistakes on our son’s teeth. What the other orthodontist said could not be done and was ready to take off our son’s braces, Dr. Apt said could be done and did it. You can be fooled like we were the first time and lose thousands of dollars like we did for choosing an orthodontist, who is charismatic and a good sales guy with a super fancy office high above Brambleton Town Center or you can choose Dr. Apt for honest Orthodontics work with true results. Learn from our mistakes and save money by choosing Dr. Apt the first time. Dr. Apt is the best Orthodontist in Northern VA!

Both of my children received treatment from Apt Orthodontics. Excellent work! Dr. Apt and his staff are professional, punctual and really care about the patient in the chair. My experience with this office has been an absolute pleasure. From the front desk juggling appointments with school and sports schedules, the finance office finding a plan that would work for us and the medical team that held hands with and encouraged my children all the way through. Beautiful «smiling results» from all of us!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Kolman Apt. — Ashburn. The office is VERY well organized, clean w/​the latest technology. Reasonable w/​payment options, too. He is a very classy professional and strives for perfection! At an early age he pointed out that her mouth was going to be too small to allow for her teeth to even have a chance of coming in correctly. We did a roof retainer/​expander put in and her teeth have all come in beautifully. I’m a patient, too… Invisalign. BTW… I never have problems getting an appt. — not sure what that precious review was talking about. Not to mention that they didn’t just a new office. Both the Ashburn and Herndon office have been open for YEARS!!!

Great orthodontist. Dr. Apt and his Staff are friendly, professional, and provide excellent care and support for their patients. Their Ashburn Office is conveniently located off Waxpool and Farmwell with plenty of parking around their office.
