Lee Grooming

The first time my moms dog was groomed it was great. This time he is completely cut up and in pain. He was groomed at 9 am and threw up twice from pain. He did not move from his spot and he is a young and mobile puppy typically. He also has spent 3 days in complete pain hobbling around and hating his walks. Would never put my dog through this kind of pain again!

The first time I had an appointment and they switched the days around… okay I can accept that, it’s cold outside and everyone makes the occasional mistake. We rescheduled and they were apologetic.
Tonight I had a 530pm appointment, they picked the time, I picked the day.
Right now it’s 7:04pm and no call no show.
I called and left a message and emailed and nothing. This is a very very disappointing way to spend my Friday night.

From beginning to end, the whole process couldn’t have been more convenient! I called and made an appointment, I received a text reminder a couple of days before the appointment, and Libby promptly arrived at my front door.
I have a golden retriever who does okay with the bath, but does not really like sitting still for the grooming or drying. I have had bad experiences in the past when I took my dog into the groomer (they would keep her for 5+ hours telling me they needed more time), so I switched to a mobile grooming service. I found a great one in California and was nervous when we moved to NoVA because I had to find a new service. I found Lee Grooming and read through their reviews and decided to give them a try — I’m so glad I found them!
I always feel bad for my groomer since I know my dog is not always the easiest. I even told Libby not to worry if she couldn’t get my dog 100% dry. She took my dog out and brought her back clean, trimmed, and 100% dry in less than an hour. I was amazed how quickly she was able to take care of my dog and I am definitely going to use Lee Grooming again. They are worth every penny. Thanks John and Libby!

I used Lee Grooming for the first time at the end of January, in fact I had to reschedule and they were extremely accomodating. I have a 2 year old Golden Retriever with epilepsy and this was Remington’s first grooming appointment after being diagnosed. Libby was right on time and she did a great job and Remi came back in the house looking quite handsome and smelling great. I have told all my friends about Lee Grooming, do not hesitate to use them. Remington will definitely be back.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the service at Lee Grooming. I have a shih tzu mix who is severely fear-​aggressive. All of the major grooming chains turn him away immediately and have told me my only option was to put him under general anesthesia at a vet’s office. I had been searching for a vet to provide this service, but no one in the area would. During my google search I somehow stumbled upon Lee Grooming. Since they weren’t a corporate chain, I decided to give them a call. John answered the phone immediately (impressive considering I was calling on New Years Day) and talked to me for a good long while. He was interested in helping us and said they would give it a shot. My dog is severely matted and the other groomers said it would take a minimum of 4 hours, not to mention a large upcharge for his aggression and mats. Libby came this morning and was able to muzzle him (something I can’t even do!) and got him completely groomed with his nails clipped in 30 minutes out in my driveway! Unfortunately she was not able to finish his head, but through no fault of her own. He could not be calmed and she was concerned about cutting his eye. I can’t tell you how happy I was with Libby. I could have hugged her! My dog has been in so much pain and he is so comfortable. I will be recommending Lee Grooming to everyone and will definitely be using them again and again. They are probably the kindest people with the best price in town.

Libby came by (right on time btw) to groom our Yorkshire Terrier and did a great job with him. He can be a little sensitive about having his teeth brushed, but she got them brushed without issue which hasn’t happened before. Libby was also very friendly and we definitely won’t hesitate to use Lee Grooming again.

I just used Lee Grooming for the first time today and they were awesome! John was kind and gentle with my 3 dogs! They look and smell fabulous! and best of all he does not nickel and dime you on the cost, everything was included– nails clipped, de shedding etc. I will be using them from now on and referring my clients to them as well!

Owner operated! John just came out to groom our two german shepherds and it was awesome. First of all, the luxury of having someone come to your home and for such a reasonable price is reason enough to call them.
My older GSD has terrible skin issues and they were not only equipped to handle them but also knowledgeable about what would work for him. My dogs look and smell fantastic and I think they’re feeling good about themselves, too! John mentioned he would pop by my house just to trim my GSDs nails so I am planning to do that. I could tell just from the first phone call how much they love dogs but it was very obvious when John came out — he was super friendly and spent a few minutes chatting and playing with my dogs. This is obviously something they are very passionate about and that really came thru with how much care they took from answering every last question I had on the phone to the actual grooming.
I have definitely found our groomers and my dogs and I are looking forward to seeing them more!
**Just a side note — they are NOT afraid of «bully» breeds as they have some of their own. So for all the other GSD/​Pit bull/​etc owners out there who have had trouble finding someone who would groom their dogs without muzzling them based on breed, definitely give John and his wife a call!!**

I had Lee Grooming come by at the end of May for a trim and clean up of my yellow lab. Although he does just fine with his baths, I don’t have the skills to trim his hair which is why we call in the groomer. Since the sweetest dog in the world becomes a raging Cujo when around other big dogs, we have no choice but to have a mobile groomer for his haircuts. We thought for summer it would help with the shedding which results in big puffs of lab hair balling up all over the house. …although, really, do labs EVER stop shedding even if its not summer? I don’t think even in the dead of winter my pup ever stops shedding.
So, we had Libby from Lee Grooming come back 2 more times over the summer to get him trimmed. He knows now as soon as she walks in, what’s in store for him over the next hour, but he’ll jump in her van regardless. He comes out all pretty, and proud of himself so he must enjoy her «treatments» somewhat.
We’ll be using Lee Grooming with no question each time we need a groomer!

LOVE THEM! Not one bad review, really says a lot!

I used to hate taking my dog to the groomer. He would get so stressed and I felt awful leaving him there for 3 or 4 hours. I decided to try mobile grooming and it was the best thing for my dog. Now, I just have to bring my dog right outside and he’s done in about an hour. John is great too with my dog. My dog is still stressed about grooming but I know John will be as quick as possible and get him looking great.

I’m writing this long beginning not to complain about other grooming facilities but to explain why I decided to use mobile dog grooming. I adopted my first dog 2 ½ years ago (she was 3 years old) and had first tried a local groomer in Centreville. He did alright with her, but she was my first dog and I was still learning as to what good grooming was for her. But what distressed me was after the 3^rd time taking her she was just freaking out trying to get away from the groomer when I was leaving. To this day I kick myself because I didn’t trust my instincts and just take her home and thankfully she was fine after the grooming. But it was clear in retrospect that I needed to find another place. I couldn’t stand a normally sweet and excited dog being so scared like that. Next I took her to Petsmart who a lot of my neighbors use. She didn’t seem too upset afterwards, but the grooming was ok. So back in March I adopted my second dog who is much younger and nervous rescue. I chose to send them to Petsmart for a joint appointment so that he wouldn’t be as nervous. Not only did they not call me when they were done, but they only used one groomer instead of scheduling them with two groomers to be worked on at the same time as I’d requested. 4 ½ hours later I called to find out what was going on and I was told that they were done (not sure when they were going to call). I was so thankful to pick them up and I was struggling so hard with two excited big dogs (5 yr old 85 lb and 1 yr old 55 lb) that I didn’t take a clear look at the job they did and after really looking at them at home I’m kicking myself that I tipped so much. One of the biggest things was that I felt that they didn’t even take off their collars because the hair underneath didn’t feel washed.
So I finally decided I needed to look at other options and looked into mobile dog grooming. It’s such a stress on the dogs and myself to try to get them to the groomers. And they’re only getting personal care so much as they’re fit in between other animals and there’s too much potential for confusion and error. For me it was getting too frustrating. So I did a lot of research to find a mobile grooming facility and I actually had a hard time finding one that would come to Centreville. But after finding and contacting a few I decided on Lee Grooming. They were very accommodating and easy to schedule which is very important to me. It drives me nuts when facilities say I can schedule an appointment by email and then they call me back to schedule. That’s not really by email is it? Anyway, so I loved that I could schedule as I wanted to. And while most mobile grooming companies quoted rates that were much higher than a grooming facility like Petsmart (sometimes $ 50 to $ 60 higher), I actually think that Lee Grooming is incredibly comparable even with coming to my house as a bonus.
I’ve used them twice now, and John has groomed my precious beasts beautifully. I honestly believe that no groomer is going to do everything perfectly that you expect every time. It’s like how you feel about your own hair stylist. But I think that he’s done just as well if not better than the other groomers that I’ve used. And on top of that, and more importantly to me, my dogs don’t seem completely stressed by the process (and myself as well). He comes to my house and parks out front. I can sit on my couch and work or do whatever and know that if there is any issue he can come and get me in a second. Plus it’s a much faster process using mobile grooming. Regardless of the drive time, standard groomers just seem to take longer. But, he did everything they did in less time and my dogs are pretty dry from his super duty blow dryer. I was also happy to see that this second time, the dogs were actually excited to see him. After only one time, they remembered him and weren’t shying away or scared as if they had a bad experience. And I’ve never seen my older dog react that way in any grooming experience. My younger dog is a new and nervous rescue, so it’s expected that he will have some issues during the grooming process. But I feel like John is really understanding about that and when I get my boy back I don’t feel like any grooming corners were cut because of it and he totally recovers in an instant which means that he’s not traumatized.
Long story made longer, if you’re going to choose between a grooming facility or a mobile groomer in this area then I think the rates are comparable enough to consider using Lee Grooming and reduce the amount of stress for everyone in sending your dog away to a facility for a few hours. I think it’s worth trying them out first given the convenience factor alone.
Plus, I love that I’m writing this surrounded by two very freshly groomed, lovely smelling (for now), very fluffy sleeping dogs and none of us were stressed out at all by the grooming experience as it should be.

Our two dogs adore Libby. They were rescues and are very particular about people (vet, groomer, walker etc…).
When our previous service sent us another groomer, though they were nice, they did not do nearly as great a job as Libby. When we found Libby again, she was able to fix the mistake’s in our dog’s groom and made him look like a million bucks!

We used to always request John when he worked at another company, because of how well he worked with our very anxious dog. We were sad when he left, but recently heard through the grapevine that he was back with his own business! We got to meet his wife Libby and the two of them did an awesome job. They showed up right on time and were able to get us a convenient appointment time without a three week wait. We will be using them again, and are so happy they are back!!!

Lee Grooming IS as good as it gets! I used to take Minty to Top Dog in Leesburg until they sold — I then tried another groomer but Minty was stressed out having to spend hours there and it was actually affecting her health. I decided to try a mobile company and Libby and Lee Grooming was love at first site!!! Minty is SO happy to see Libby in the morning and is still kissing her when she comes back in the house — PLUS I don’t miss anytime off from work! I wouldn’t use anyone else!!!

Our family has 8 golden retrievers and we have been using John and Libby Lee for all of their grooming needs. It is very refreshing to find a groomer who actually cares about your pets and know what they are doing. They don’t «man handle» your pets. You can watch they groom and they are gentle and kind to our animals. It is an every 6 week occurrence when Libby and John come to our home and groom our goldens. They know all the dogs by name and which ones go «willingly» and which ones need gentle persuasion. They are great at what they do and the dogs know they look good. John and Libby are new small business owners and I hope you will give them a try. They have a great deal of experience groom and have now decided they need to work for themselves so they can control the quality of their grooming and the excellent care they give the dogs. WE have known John and Libby for over two years, when we met them as our dog walkers. I know you will see the difference in good grooming, excellent customer service and appreciate the gentle care and pride in their work they show all of their customers. They treat your pets as if they were their pets. Their prices are reasonable, actually inexpensive, considering the quality of their work. They are full service and the «mess» remains outside in their mobile grooming truck. YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER GROOMERS THAN JOHN AND LIBBY LEE!!!

John Lee is excellent.
I used to take my dog to Petco for grooming. After the 2^nd consecutive hot spot that appeared immediately after the cut, I decided to go another direction.
I called several mobile grooming services and decided on using Lee after talking with them. The Lee’s have taken care of pets for several years. They love animals and it shows. It is more than a business for the Lee’s…it’s a passion. I used them when they were with Wolfies and will continue to stay with Lee.
Molly loves John and is always excited to go to the van. She receives excellent care. I used to drop off the dog for several hours… now John comes by, takes Molly outside for about an hour, and she returns happy, and is always very proud of her new look, prancing around for a couple of hours.
