Virginia Tire & Auto of Ashburn-Dulles

My friend had a nail stuck in one of her tires and we took it to the One Loudoun location prior to taking it here. The OL location filled up her tire with air but then told us they didn’t have time to fix the hole, so they referred us to this location. We showed up 45 minutes before closing and the staff member that worked with us was very accommodating. We felt bad for showing up so late, but nonetheless, they patched up the hole in about 35 minutes. He even told us it was okay to make a Target run as long as we weren’t too late passed closing time. Very nice of him. Overall, great experience!

I brought in my car for a regular conventional oil change with an 8 dollar coupon. I was very disappointed with all the extra fees they added onto my bill for no reason. They charged me $ 40.00 and that’s with my 8 dollar off coupon. I came home puzzled and after talking with my husband, we decided to give them a call to discuss the price. A lady stated that since my car holds 6.4 quarts, they had to charged me extra. Okay, never heard of a place charging me extra for that, but that’s fine– I asked her how much the extra fee was and she said about $ 2… Okay. So where are the extra fees coming come?! She said they do a service part fee, oil filter, vacuuming, etc. First off, I asked for a simple oil change. Second, I recently moved here from Leesburg and I always got charged $ 24-​$ 35 (at the most) and this place is charging me $ 48 for a regular oil change for my car? Thank goodness I brought my coupon although it was still expensive. I even asked the lady over the phone what the «service part» fee was and lady said it was hard to explain… Well, that’s great that I have to pay for something that’s hard to explain. Also, they didn’t vacuum my car. The only thing good about this place is that the facility was clean but other than that, this place is way too overpriced. Also, they should change the prices of their oil changes on their website and in-​stores because it’s not accurate.

Long wait for inspection which I don’t mind but the gentleman at the desk was quite rude and dismissive when I asked a simple question. I’ll find another place to do this next year.

Horrible customer service. Called for a tire & was given quote of $ 13_​_​but when I got to the shop, invoice was $ 143. The person who took the order was in cal center.
Rep (Maj) @ front counter told me to call the callcenter even though I requested to speak to the service manager. Spent about 20 minutes over the phone only to find the call center manager can’t help me.
All of this over a few bucks. In the meantime, I am told that there is no shuttle service although I was originally told the shuttle would accommodate me. Most other va tire places are not like this.

Excellent service from the guys here at Virginia Tire and Auto! I came here tonight to have my vehicle inspected, and without me knowing a lot about the process the guys were professional, efficient, and most importantly honest. The entire inspection was completed in a timely fashion and they even explained all of the findings with me during the checkout process. I will absolutely be returning here for future business. Job well done!

This is the location where they will take your last minute inspection at a later hour than others in Ashburn! I went to three others because they were closer but this one is one that they took customers until 7 that night! Definitely will be coming back!

Awful customer service. I called at 4pm and spoke to Kelly. I asked if it was possible to drop my car off for an oil change, tire rotation and inspection. I told her I was interested in leaving the car over night and would need a ride home from their shuttle van. She assured me this would not be a problem as long as I arrived no later than 7:15pm. I arrive at 7pm and stood at the counter for 5 minutes before anyone even noticed. The gentleman a the counter said he was too busy to even have an employee take me home and asked me to come back tomorrow at 7am. Definitely will not be coming back.

Great service and prices compared to a dealership. They’re pretty quick, have great customer service and frequently send out coupons for their services provided. They have free coffee and apples while you wait. Bringing the kids win you? No problem, they have an play area to keep the kids entertained, it’s small but still fun.

I’ve been going to this location for five years. Amazing service every time. They will match competitors coupons. Most important though is that you can trust them.

Being new to the area, vehicle inspection seemed a little overwhelming. I called VA Tire and they walked me through the process.
When I showed up, they took care of me promptly. The waiting room was comfortable with free wifi, coffee and a comfortable place to wait. While there, several technicians not associated with my work asked if I needed help.
They were polite and got my work done quickly!
Besides that, they have a free air hose on the side to provide a quick tire fill up instead of charging a dollar!!!

We have been going here for over 10 years and couldn’t be happier. Once again, they did an excellent job in discussing what was need with the vehicle and answering my many questions. A big thank you to Turk — he is so patient and deserve kudos!

This is the worst place I have ever went to. We leave our car here and explain what we need and they say it will be done by noon of that day. We get a call saying it’s going to take till the next day. We wait and walk to pick up our car and find out they didn’t even fix our tires or our wind shield. They go out to check our car and end up looking at a different car. Then tell the wrong lady about our car. This was the worst experience of my life. If u need your car fixed, don’t come here.

We’lp it was that time of the year folks – inspection sticker time. My hubby took my car to this location in morning and came home to tell me I failed inspection. Grrr anyway got the items I needed fixed and went back. I went at the time they open 7 am and was the first customer to arrive (no on else seem to come in until 7:30 when I was leaving) and they were still opening their registers. After waiting a couple minutes they were finally able to assist me. They told me they just needed my keys and had to reassess my car. After waiting 20 minutes, they came back with good results and I got my inspection sticker. The waiting area is nice and clean. The offer coffee and green apples while you wait and had the tv on the news. I’m not sure about any other services but I was satisfied with my brief visit.

I went in for a simple oil change and had some difficulty getting the Unilocal coupon code. I paid with out using the coupon code. Then contacted the management and now my next oil change is free. It’s nice to be appreciated as a customer.

Quick & no hassle! Dropped of my car before work for insp, the line was very long and they said would be ready about 12 – 1230, to my surprise they called at 915 saying it was finished! I waited until lunch to pick up, but was in and out in less than 5 minutes! Quick service with friendly personnel, we go here all the time!

So I brought these guys four new wheels and tires that I wanted to have mounted on my vehicle. It was a pretty simple request– remove the wheels and tires currently on the car, then put these wheels and tires on. I normally would do it myself, but I was in a time pinch, and I had lent my jack and jack stands to a friend that is notorious for consuming my belongings like a ravenous black hole. If I could review him as a friend on Unilocal,I would give him a 1. Anyway, back to the story.
After I explained to the service advisor what I wanted done, I told him that they had to be careful with these wheels, namely because they were aftermarket wheels with a finish that can be grinded off if the wrong impact gun bit was used. He assured me that they had the proper tools to do this, and that my wheels would be safe.
Flash forward 30 minutes, and I’m outside looking at the new wheels and tires on the car. Wouldn’t you know – the technician did NOT use the correct tools, and 3 of the 4 wheels had been noticeably damaged, i.e. the black finish had been grinded off the wheels in the mounting holes. This moved me into a whole new world of pissed off I hadn’t visited in quite some time. I’m pretty sure I saw a red fire breathing dragon and an enraged goat man with a spear.
I was then told that they could fix the wheels. Their proposed suggestion? Oh, we’ll just get some black paint and paint them. Really? You’re going to match the paint perfectly, then ensure that the paint never flakes off? I think not. I wouldn’t trust these fools to paint anything, even if they resurrected Michelangelo and Leonardo Di Vinci, slapped VA Tire & Auto hats on their heads, then commissioned them to work on my wheels.
Needless to say, I recommend anyone who really loves their car to stay away. If you view your car as just a means to get around, you’ll probably be fine here.

I recently went to have the oil changed in my most recent purchase and with 2 cars in front of me, it only took 40 minutes.
Price for a standard oil change was competitive with other «quick change» oil places around.
I have been to this place a lot for both my cars and my wife’s cars. Sometimes it’s pleasant experience and sometimes not, just depends on the luck of the draw.
I’d recommend them based on their convenience and seeming ability to handle most vehicle related stuff but it can sometimes be slow and pricey.

Well, this is my second time coming here for safety inspections. The fiancé ‘forgot’ to get his safety sticker updated and got caught for the ‘ahem’ second time. So, I graciously offered to take his car in for him so he didn’t get called on it for the third time. My experience is only for the safety inspections so I don’t know how they handle other issues. The first time, wasn’t great. I brought my car in and waited… and waited… and waited while my car sat outside and they were «waiting» on the paperwork. Turns out, after going up to the desk multiple times, the paperwork was there the whole time. Grr…
This time, because I’m right around the corner, I had a coworker bring me back to work while I waited for the inspection. It was done in about an hour so it was easy breezy covergirl.
But, because they don’t take appointments for safety inspections I can see how this can be extremely annoying if you have to wait and there just happens to be a line that day. Since I have the luxury of having someone drop me off, I’m sure this will be my go-​to place for safety inspections strictly for the convenience factor.

The Mister accidentally had his SUV towed here after it died yesterday. To be fair, the tow company screwed up by taking the vehicle to the wrong shop, but the shop managed to take it up a level from there.
When we finally got a call back about the repair, they were calling about the WRONG vehicle. Same make, different model, and different year by 15yrs. When we tried to straighten this out, we had such a hard time talking to the guy who called us, I had to call back and get a manager. When we talked to him, we found out no one had written down all of the information we’d provided hours previous. The manager promised he’d call us back ‘right away’ to get that straightened out.
Two hours later, still no call. (Btw, for those of you at home, this was a ridiculously easy repair, something we could have done ourselves but didn’t want to spend the time.) I called, requested the manager, and it was difficult to figure out what on earth he was talking about. We physically went to the location, which was FULL of pissed off customers. Turns out the car had been done for ages. Thaaaaaanks.
We finally got our vehicle and, so far, so good. However, the screwup and lack of communication do not encourage us to return.

Overall rating for this place is 3.5 stars out of 5.
First off I want to say that I’ve read most of the reviews about this place and I do agree with a lot of the other Unilocal reviewers and I do believe they are justified in there reviews.
Now I’ll explain why I understand why I agree with a lot of the other Unilocal reviews of this place.
Let me begin by saying that this place is absolutely ‘hit’ or ‘miss’. The reason I say that is because I’ve gone to this on multiple occasions for different services to be performed on my car and each time was different experience. I mean this place just lacks consistency. I mean one day you can go in there and be out in 15 — 30 minutes and on the other hand you can in here and not be out for hours.
Also I’ve come in this place a few times where lines are long, and I see few blue shirt employees standing behind the counter in front of a computer like they are doing something but there is only one person actually helping people in the line. I have absolutely no idea what the other employees are doing, one would think they are helping a customer but sometimes you see absolutely no one in front of them, so I’m not sure what that whole ordeal is about. So I can also feel the frustration and pain of the Unilocaler’s review of this place.
Now I’ll explain why I feel that for me they deserved 3.5 stars.
First off I want to say that I get off of work quite late (Which a lot of us hardworking Unilocalers do). So if you live in the Ashburn area there aren’t too many service shops that stay open past 5pm (Which sucks for me because 5pm is around the time I typically get off work). The plus for this place is that it stays open until about 8pm Monday — Friday. This works out in my favor because the weekends I’m typically busy and during the week I don’t want to leave work early because I will have to make up that time or use my vacation and that’s no bueno.
The other reason why I’m giving this place the rating that I did is that because when I went here on 05÷13÷13 things were a lot smoother then some of my past visits and I think that may be do to the fact that I was working closely with one of the employees (I believe her name is Maria). I mean she was ‘GREAT’. I say that because I went in for a simple oil change and to get one of my tires check because it was leaking air and when my car was rolled into the service area she continually checked on the status of the car with the tech and gave me updates. I mean that is the kind of service I’m looking for when you’ve been sitting in a place for over an hour.
In her final status update it was determined that my TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) was damaged and needed to be replaced. So because they didn’t have that part in the store, Maria actually had someone go out and pick it up to install on my car. I mean this particular time I wasn’t dissatisfied with the service just unhappy that I had to drop some extra money for them to install TPMS on my car.
In the end, I wanted to give them 4 stars but I was hesitant because this place is still a bit inconsistent. However, as I continue to go here for the different services and the consistency has picked up I will be more than happy to update my review and star rating.
