This is what eggs Benedict is supposed to taste like! Everything else was good too. Server was friendly and in top of things. Great coffee.

Let me save you some time: skip this one. The service was good and friendly, but the food was sad, sad, sad. It’s not vile, it’s just plain not good. I was excited for a place that focuses on local/homemade/organic, but this place doesn’t do it well. Few items on the menu are actually local and organic, if you ask. And bland seems to be the name of the game. The house-made sausage, which the waitress recommended, is dry and unseasoned(seriously, no salt in sausage???). The biscuits are very soft and taste of nothing but baking soda, and the same goes for the pancakes. Apparently, baking soda is the preferred seasoning of Rise’n’Shine. The omelette I ordered was thick, dry, and mediocre. The hashbrowns were burnt. I’m from the North, and I like crispy hashbrowns, but there’s a difference. There was not a single aspect of our meal that was well executed. To top it off, it’s awfully expensive for what you get. We spent $ 40 for two adults and a toddler, and didn’t get anything outside of a normal breakfast with coffee. I’ve worked in food service for a long time, so I’m not typically one to complain. I know that places have off-days. But I had heard other local families recommend this place, so I expected a decent breakfast and I was pretty disappointed. Their kitchen/menu-execution would need a complete overhaul to make this place worth trying again. We won’t be back.

If you’re in a hurry, this isn’t the place for you. It’s got the vibe of a short order cook situation, but the food says otherwise. The potato bowl was excellent. Some of the best eggs I’ve ever had. So slow down and enjoy this little treasure.

Great breakfast place! They were very accommodating and pleasant! The Potato Bowl was yummy… Wish I had added the crumbles.

Disappointing — milk curdled in the coffee, eggs & potatoes dry & overlooked, floors really dirty & our table was near the back & we could smell the bathroom through our stay. Staff nice but service really slow — took 55 minutes to get our food from when we arrived & it wasn’t full. Sadly will not return.

Look no further than Rise N’ Shine for your Asheville brunch. Seriously. This place does THE best breakfast/brunch in Asheville and I’ve been to ALL the«hot» brunch spots. Best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. I come here nearly every weekend and they’ve never failed to deliver a tasty, tasty meal.

After a long night with long time friends I woke up needing some fuel! So many choices to order coffee & eggs but I decided to come back to rise and shine! Simple breakfast sandwich went down so quick I couldn’t post a photo for my review … So there ya go! I like it an I’ll be back !! Have to say the location is good too — not far from downtown Asheville and Lots of parking ! I wish the grits came smothered in maple syrup but hey all I had to do was ask! :)

Honestly, I should be rating this far less due to the fact that I left paying for my friend’s bill which was a good $ 7 – 10 dollars more expensive. I would’ve put the blame on one individual for this whole horrible experience but collectively Rise n’ Shine pitched in ruin an already mundane morning. The only good point to my morning was their PB& J smoothie. Other than that the service and the food were something to be desired.

Had breakfast here. Greeted by the biggest smile on earth by waitress. Gotta admit the décor was pretty far out. When the food came out, it wasn’t big on portion but man it hits you with flavor. We still miss this place

Stopped by for breakfast this morning, ordered an omelette with mushrooms, onions, spinach and cheddar cheese. Wheat toast and potatoes. The omelette was cooked like a pancake and folded over. The cheese sprinkled on the bottom and burnt. very strange! Potatoes were fine. The restaurant it self was dirty. Crumbs and dirt under every table, floors looked as if not been mopped in weeks. Service was fine. Would not go back.

We went here because we had a coupon, but we probably won’t be going back. They’re just nothing special.

We had a pretty decent breakfast — we both had the eggs Benedict, and it was very good, but the service was just ok. My meal came with a side of potatoes, and I asked if I could have a pancake in place of it and the waitress said ok. I got the pancake, no potatoes, but they charged me for the pancake. When I asked about it she just blankly said«sorry we don’t do substitutions»(that would have been nice to know when I asked instead of after the meal). I would recommend this place to friends, but would be sure to let them know you can’t do substitutions regardless of what you’re waitress tells you.

Disappointing… bad service with no refills and on a $ 2.50 cup of coffee??? No thanks! Staff was friendly enough but didn’t seem to have any customer service at all. They were slow like I said above and then when they told me they were out of an avocado spread, I asked if they could just mash up and avocado and they said no. Also, as other people have said the portions don’t go along with the pricing. My BLT was tasty but had 2 ½ slices of bacon and two small tomato slices. Then at the end of the meal, I gave my form of payment which they ran and it went through and charged me but then they came and brought it back to me and said they don’t actually accept American Express so they voided the charge and asked for another card. So they could take it but chose not too which is irritating. I won’t be back. Which is unfortunate because I live so close…

I’ve been coming here since forever, they have killer flapjacks and I love their fruit bowl. Good prices and feels very comfortable for a nice, chill brunch.

This is a nice local breakfast joint that satisfies my morning appetite every time. It’s more of an old fashioned grill and the food is good.

Nifty little breakfast restaurant with a unique Asheville flare. Definitely better for the days when making breakfast is just out of the question. It’s not better than grandma’s cooking, but when you were brought up on grandma’s cooking, can you really compare? Nah, 5⁄5 guys! Keep up the good work!

Solid breakfast/brunch food. It’s definitely one of Asheville’s best kept secrets because(unlike most brunch places) it’s never too crowded and is definitely underrated. Staff is always friendly and the food is always delicious. Interior is a bit bland but overall an amazing place to get a quick brunch on a weekend.

Staff was ok. Not bad, just not overly on it as far as refills or checking on customers. Food was ok, the portions vs the price were unbalanced. Hash brown portion was sad especially considering the price couldve bought a bag of spuds. My family went here because we forgot why we had avoided for the last 2 years. Shoulda waited for a table at Early Girl or Overeasy. Would’ve spent less and at least gotten full.

Absolutely embarrassing!!! We went in for breakfast at 10:30am. Asked to sit outside, which was okay ed by the server. She then came out and said we couldn’t sit at the table we chose, which was weird. But whatever. We ordered food around 10:40 and by 11:30 had still not recieved our breakfast. I am very understanding to being busy because I am in the food service industry, it happens. We decided that we would just pay for our coffe and leave but they let us know our food was coming out next. So we agreed to pay for it and asked for it to be made to-go. We waited another 10 minutes and finally received our order. We got it home and it was the most pathetic looking food I have ever seen. The omelette was brown and crusty dry. There was maybe 1oz of shredded hashbrowns in each box and maybe an ounce of gravy in a 12ounce to-go cup, We decided to return the order. They refunded our money and gave excuses about scheduling issues. The worst part for me was looking into the kitchen and seeing the cook in yoga pants, wearing a tank-top with no apron or chef coat and a baby siiting in their stroller about 4 feet from the grill. Kinda gross. I hate to give bad reviews but this is unexceptable in a town that has so many other high performing breakfast kitchens. Too bad!!! At least there is an Awesome popcorn shop upstairs called Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn.

The food was good, average good. The atmosphere is way lame. And, I get it you’re selling homemade jam, but cant we also have a traditional option? Not everyone is crazy about pumpkin jam. No soda? Fine, but you don’t have to be rude about it. With so many other great breakfasts options in Asheville, this will be a first/last visit.
