This is one of my go to places. I live and work mostly on the west side so it is very convenient for me. There is almost never a wait time for a table and your food/drinks come quickly as well. Their specials are always amazing! Great service and atmosphere.

We had the big burger and the quesadilla. They were both delicious! I would suggest the sweet potato tater tots. I will come back again if I am in the area.

Great place, gives you a great American foodie vibe with an industrial look. The service is excellent and the food even beyond that. The beer selection on draft and bottle is great. Was traveling through North Carolina and I’d come back here my next time through.

Must must go. We drove in for lunch to find it was brunch only on Sunday’s until 3. The food was better than the Grove Parks flagship restaurant we just visited. We ordered another round. Of entrees. Steak and eggs and Eggs Florentine were the stars. There was cumin in both which I in fact do not like but it was just enough to give them both an interesting edge. They did not last long. I can’t WAIT to visit again.

Yum! I was desperately seeking a non-chain option near our hotel and found this gem. Great tacos, cheap beer, friendly staff. And some gourmet options if you want them. Makes me wish we lived closer!

We found this spot while on a family vacation after reading good reviews and loved it! What great food! I had the veggie burger, which consisted of a homemade bean pattie and a blend of delicious flavors that I wasn’t expecting. Paired it with sautéed kale and sweet potato tots, both fabulous. My son had the cheeseburger and I’ve never seen him eat so much! They had a good selection of local drafts and a laid back atmosphere. Would definitely come back with friends, family, or grab a spot at the bar by myself for a beer.

While I was torn between the tempeh street tacos, a few of the salads, nachos, and avocado tempeh melt, henceforth referred to as ATM, I can attest that the ATM was one of the most spectacular things I’ve ever crammed into my gullet. My only complaint is that I take«served open faced» to mean that I will be presented with two halves of a sandwich, not the one that I received. Steep for $ 8.50 but a great deal if you finagle an entire sandwich.

Not a bad little place. Nice décor, good music good food and good beer. A refreshing stop after the crowded madness of the Biltmore estate!

All I need in life is Taco Tuesday, sweet potato tots, and 2 $ PBR. Tacos are pretty small but still hella cheap. Recommend if you’re looking for a quick sit down meal with fast service. We went with a group of 25, pretty much each of us getting 2 – 3 different types of tacos(sorry Walk, we can’t help ourselves. It’s taco freaking Tuesday) and still got our food in a timely manner. The waiter was really attentive and super amazing with remembering all of our orders without messing them up. That guy really deserves an applause. Parking is limited so watch out. Overall, Walk was a great place to just go chill with my classmates and not have an over the top meal. Good food, good environment, good service. Would go back to have a casual taco again :)

I would give it 4 ½ if I could! Great food, great service… Local beers and ales. You got to try the blackened chicken sandwich! It was delish! Totally with it! The parking options are horrible though!

Asheville is always expanding with new restaurants. This was MYFAVORITE new restaurant since I moved from Asheville. I got the chicken sandwich with local West End Bakery bread(I traded out for this bread instead of brioche or ciabatta). They had two things I love the most in this meal too: avocado and sweet potato tater tots! I believe it was the best meal of my life. Thanks Asheville and WALK for making avocado an automatic part of this sandwich.

We have been into finding new places to go for lunch. WALK is not new, but it is new to us so we gave it a whirl. Had not problem parking which was an initial concern of mine, but we were off the street and in within minutes. We just happened to walk into Taco Tuuesday, which seems to be somewhat of a fad around town these days. I was not in the mood for a taco, so checked out that looked like a very yummy menu. This place is rustic! I love rustic! Tables, booths, a bar… lots to choose from. We got a table in the front window for optimum WAVL watching. Prompt service with a smile…$ 2PRB? I believe I will, thank you! I had a hankering for a burger and they had 2 options on the menu… BIG and SMALL. Now I know what BIG burger means in AVL… it means BIGASYOURHEAD! So having also spotted mac and cheese on the menu(who can resist), I order the SMALL burger and a side of mac and cheese. The burger was moist and delicious and comblned with mac and cheese to die for, it was the perfect amount of food. The wife ordered a couple of fish tacos that she seemed to really enjoy… did I say $ 2PBR(again!). Overall, a very enjoyable lunch in a clean, well lit place(to quote Hemmingway) and very affordable.

This is a must stop in Asheville. The staff was very nice and the food was on point. I can’t say enough about the staff. They went out of there way to help us and multiple staff members displayed top notch service. There’s lots to see and do at Walk.

Unfortunately, the Walk is never my first restaurant choice. I never suggest it as a place to get an actual meal because my only experiences here have been with friends that have invited me to come watch sports with them. So, in a way, I see it as more of a sports bar where I go to hang out and snack rather than to just dine. That’s not to say the Walk isn’t a good restaurant. Their food is good(ranging from burgers to tacos, I love their sweet potato tots), the building has a nice atmosphere(high ceilings, open floor plan, cool décor), and it’s in a great West Asheville location. They do also serve local beers from their ever-changing rotating taps. But really it’s just another restaurant in my book, there’s not much that really makes it special to me. They do have taco Tuesdays, which is definitely a plus! ~2/taco is a yummy deal. I will keep going here for hang out sessions! Maybe I’ve missed something about it that I’ll catch next time. I do need to try more on their menu to fully get the experience, I think. Edit || I forgot to mention our bad service we get most of the time here. Remembering this, I had to knock the rating down a star. The multiple times I have been here it took forever for anyone to notice our table and greet us. Also, we’ve maybe once been greeted or treated enthusiastically. They have lacked in personality and energy. Food is also super slow unless I order tacos. I don’t suggest The Walk for a fast meal otherwise.

I came here for taco tuesday, and the unofficial Unilocal event, and my overall impression of the place was very, very favorable. I had a few different kinds of tacos(they were 1.50 a piece, so go nuts). By a long shot, my favorite was the crispy«gringo» style taco, which is totally true-to-form 1980’s birthday party food. Ground beef, some shredded iceberg, diced tomatoes, a few shreds of Jack cheese. Beautiful, nostalgic, simplicity in a crunchy shell. Then I had a bite of my brother’s wings, which was awesomesauce. I mean seriously, the Sauce was Awesome, and the wings were cooked perfectly – the best I’ve had in Asheville. No joke. Also, Dales Pale Ale on tap(hallelujah), and Noble Hard Cider for the freaks among you who drink that sort of thing(you know who you are). The ambiance was lovely. Not overdone, but just nice comfortable space that felt spacious and intimate all at once, decently clean bathrooms, college basketball playing on flat screens over the bar, plenty of room for a crowd, but good acoustics so you could hear the person next to you without anyone having to shout. Service was excellent. Parking was kind of rough, but all-in-all, a solidly comfortable and relaxing space to enjoy excellent beers and some good bar food with friends. There weren’t any children I could see there, but I got the feeling this place would be fun for the whole family.

The WALK is a great spot in West Asheville to gather with friends and share an awesome evening. It’s not a restaurant, it’s not a bar, it’s more of a modern day public house. It’s spacious and has ginormous ceilings. There’s ample seating for tons of people, even on crowded nights like Taco Tuesday. I got together with a few fellow Unilocalers here last night and was pleased that we chose this place for our meet up. We found a table to share nearly immediately, and our server, Stevie, greeted us as soon as we were settled. The Walk has an ample selection of delicious local brews, and Noble Cider, something I didn’t try until last night. I’m not typically a fan of cider, but I had no problem sucking down a Noble in record time. It’ll be a fun diversion from my typical hop and malt based beverages. But I digress. The food was super affordable and quite tasty. I have only eaten at The WALK once before and I was, sadly, disappointed by that meal. The good news is, I obviously ordered the wrong thing. Last night was much better, a really accurate view into that which they did well. Hard shell tacos fro $ 1.50? How often do you get hard shell tacos somewhere other than Taco Bell? It’s like being a kid in the 80’s. Other winners were the sweet potato tater tots, and the wings. The wings were actually super awesome. Not battered, fried to perfection, I got the super hot sauce and mild sauce mixed together to adorn them, and it was still face tinglingly exciting. We hung out for around three hours, and there was never a point where I felt as though we were being rushed, or creating an inconvenience for our server or the bar. In fact, I can’t recall a time where we had to request a refill or another round. Stevie was awesome, and ever present when needed. We had a fairly large group, and I was buying beers for people, but Stevie had no problem separating our checks in delivering them to the correct parties the first time. Super Kudos.

Street tacos very good but meat was a tad dry this evening Beef tacos were awesome great flavor Restaurant deco has a very asheville industrial feel which is really cool. Beer selection is great Wait staff is very friendly and never had to ask for a refill which is big in my book Will eat here multiple times over and is a great place to hang out with friends! Had a fabulous time at the Unilocal event with our new AWESOME Unilocal ambassador. Congrats Kipper!!!

We went back to WALK for a bite and a bit to drink, and to watch the Ducks beat the Buckeyes. The Ducks disappointed us, but for what it is WALK was good — good service, good drinks, good prices. By game time, WALK was pretty much full, with a laid-back West Asheville crowd, mostly Ohio State fans and do-not-carers. Personally, I think the reason Oregon lost was those depressing, ugly gray Nike uniforms. The food — we had some wings and the 2 oz. burgers, one with regular fries and one with sweet potato tots — was about what you’d expect from bar food. We weren’t up for the regular 6 oz. Hickory Nut Farm burgers, but I’d say 2 oz. is a bit TOO small. Ours came out pretty dry and overdone. I’d suggest boosting the small burgers to maybe 3 or 4 oz. — that would be about right. With one appetizer, two mini-entrees with a side each, a total of two cocktails(ginger and bourbon, $ 6) and three beers(two local drafts and a bottle of PBR, $ 2 to $ 4.50) our tab came to about $ 55 including tax and tip. Fairly reasonable. Sometimes parking can be an issue on this part of Haywood Road, but this night we lucked out with a space just across the street from WALK. The projection TV screen isn’t as big as I had remembered, but it’s still pretty good. WALK just turned it on when the game started. Would probably go here more frequently if we live in West Asheville.
