PLEASEREAD first before ever going here!!! I refuse to ever support this business and hope this leads to others doing the same. I am a Military veteran diagnosed with a medical condition and have a service dog. By law my dog is allowed to go with me into any business regardless of the owners discretion protected by the Federal American Disability Act. The ADA requires these businesses to allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals onto business premises in whatever area customers are generally allowed. My medical condition does not require me to carry my papers on me and my dog is not required to have any because of the condition I have. I was first approached by the waitress to confirm he was a service dog and I told her my dog was. She asked for papers for proof which I did not have on me or carry because by federal law I do not need to. In a few minutes the waitress came back and said I’m sorry the bartender is giving me a lot of trouble for you being here. I explained the law to her and she said ok. She came back and said the owner is asking that I leave. I asked to speak to the owner in which she said he refused to speak to me. The bartender came over and explained laws are different state to state which is true but the Federal law states I am allowed in any business regardless as I have already mentioned. Even though I could have continued to fight the issue because by law they are not allowed to ask me to leave. I chose to leave because of how rude I was treated and the disrespect shown. I have never felt so mistreated in my entire life. I have never written a review on here but hope that others take into consideration not supporting a business like this that chooses to segregate people with disabilities like mine and are legally allowed to take their service dog into any business.

If you are looking for brunch don’t look anywhere else! This place brunch it’s so delicious! We found this place by mistake since we parked so far away from the other restaurant, the price was very appealing for brunch. We entered and of course it’s a pub we weren’t expecting fancy food until we ordered our food. I ordered the plate with pancakes, eggs, potatoes and bacon and my husband the egg sandwich with the pulled pork. The bacon was delicious sweet and smoky and the potatoes well I can’t even described how good it was! My husbands egg sandwich was very fulfilling. We will be back for brunch! Great Customer Service and fast service.

Great atmosphere and reasonable prices However we went there for New Years and the cover was 12 bucks per person… about the most expensive cover in Asheville Will probably avoid during any holidays or events in future.

Enjoyed a quick meal here on Friday night. They had been closed for a little while due toms fire. So glad they have finally reopened. I ordered the west side Cuban with Fried pickles. Don’t expect a traditional Cuban sandwich. It was a delicious version of this sandwich. My husband ordered the fried fish tacos which he said was great. I enjoyed a couple of their draft specials and my husband had a mixed drink. They were both enjoyed and the price point was great. With 2 meals and 7 drinks between us we spent just over $ 50. There was a good crowd there but the lighting was a bit dark.

The menu is very diverse which I appreciate, but the fryer oil was old. I could tell the food would have been better with fresh oil. The beer selection was good and featured local companies. The interior is rather dark with natural light on either end. Customers were enjoying a game on TV.

I really like the Westville as a neighborhood bar and like the pours and drafts they have there. Food is typical bar food and the sriracha honey wings are really good. This review is based on the fact that I’m looking for a good cheesesteak in Asheville as I’m originally from philly and often dream about them. I heard the ones here were some of the best in town. If this is supposed to be a decent cheesesteak I’m scared to try any others elsewhere. I got a 4 inch hoagie on a «roll» that was dry and crumby. This steak at best was sirloin(key to cheesesteaks is RIBEYE!). dry and overly seasoned with very little meat for $ 9.50!!! I cooked cheesesteaks for five years in philly and am always happy to get behind a grill and show someone how to do it. Fun place, decent crowd usually with more hippies than hipsters which is rare in west asheville, so if you like that kinda thing this is the place for you. Just skip the cheesesteak!

They don’t even deserve 1 star it pains me to give it to them. Amazing drinks but pathetic and ridiculously rude service destroyed my respect for them.

I was exploring West Asheville on a Sunday and had heard some things about this place. Two of my friends love to come and play pool here when they are in town. Someone at a place across the street said this is a real dive where all the locals go. Sounded interesting to me. I sat at the bar and noticed that had a great selection of local beers. 1 point for that! The front window opens and you can sit there and watch the people and cars go by. There’s a patio out back. There are 2 pool tables, a foosball game and a shuffleboard game in the next room. So it has all the makings of a good pub! I ordered 1 beer and then switched to bloody marys after that. They make great bloody marys. Best I’ve had in a while, especially the spicy ones! The staff was friendly. I didn’t really think this was a dive as mentioned above but I did think this is a great neighborhood watering hole — unpretentious, a good place to just hang out and chill.

This place is mighty ok. Key word ok. The staff is friendly, the TV is always playing a sports game and the atmosphere is very casual. I found the service to be slow, the prices a little high for Asheville and the level of intimacy a little off. Went there on a date and the outdoor seating was great in the back but the idea that you need to order a drink, then get a parking validation ticket is somewhat awkward. Btw any bar that offers deconstructed anything on their menu, while still offering standard bar food is trying way too hard. I think for a better experience all around hit the Brew Pump. It’s only beer but it’s a little more laid back while having a fun experience.

Fairly standard pub with your typical noise level. Seating can be scarce. Good service. If you order food, stick to the greasy spoon items like the Carolina burger and fries. Their plates are kind of a disappointment. I ordered the Jerk Chicken plate and it was good portion size, but not very good.

This place is great… if you’re a beard wearing hippie. If you aren’t, expect odd looks and snide comments from people who claim to love everyone. No judgement. Bullshit! If you happen to have a real job, and have to DRESS, these people isolate you like you’re a leper. Such a double standard. Food is good. Beer is good. No friends here. OH, VERYIMPORTANT: Don’t wear any shiny or expensive looking jewelry as you might be stalked and mugged by the crack/heroin/meth addicts that live above the pub. Thanks to the observant bartender, I was spared.

This is my go-to spot for a great lunch. Go there for well prepared pub favorites such as: burgers, spinach sliders and sriracha flavored chicken fingers/wings. The servers and bartenders are always friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.

I have tried to like westville for years, but everytime I walk away disappointed. The food is average, the wings, fries, and crab cakes are pretty damn good. The service is what I always have a bad experience with. The staff seems to be annoyed I’m there and inconvenienced by me wanting to order. I’ve learned to stick to the places that actually seem to appreciate my business.

Didn’t eat anything, but the beer selection was good(as is almost everywhere in Asheville), but they were nice to accommodate two rugby teams for a post match social. Not to mention the music was great 80/90s punk rock which I enjoyed. Enjoyed myself there! Cheers!

The food was OK. Our server, Sunny, was awesome but having to listen to the football game is obnoxious. I understand putting on the game but play music over it.

It’s ok for a neighborhood bar. The food is nothing to write home about. I had the endless breakfast. It wasn’t anything you couldn’t make at home.

We’ve been several times and enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and drinks, but this past Saturday night kinda ruined it for us. Our waitress was inattentive, and disappeared for ten to fifteen minutes at a time, and after we’d been there for more than an hour, she asked us if we wanted the cover charge added to our bill, since the band who would be playing later in the evening was beginning their sound check. I have no problem paying a cover charge as long as I’m aware of it beforehand, but after an hour? That, and the poor service left us with a bad taste in my mouth. It turned out to be a great way to entertain out of town guests.

I love Westville Pub. I’ve been a few times since moving to the area a month ago. Very hip laid back neighborhood bar. First time I was there they had a great blues/rock band playing. Shuffle board, pool, great cozy updated joint. Great craft beer on tap, full bar and delicious food for a meal or late night snacks. Don’t forget your Men Of Westville Calendar!

They’ve got good food, and a pretty decent tap beer selection. Nice thing is that since I’m here alone, I can go in and find a spot at the bar. And the bartenders are usually really good, depending on who you get. Last time I was in here, there were 2 bartenders — the one that I knew from previous visits, and one that was new to me. Thing was, though, the original bartender was hustling — he was having to take care of the whole bar because the second bartender stood there for 45 minutes just talking to a patron. And yes, it was 45 minutes(with a very rare, «Hey, how you doing?» and throwing a coaster at someone before the other bartender got them a beer). That’s not only unprofessional, but rude, too. So as long as you don’t get the second bartender, this place is pretty awesome. Oh, and this place has some of the best onion rings I’ve ever eaten!

It’s just a chill place to go. It would be fun to go for trivia or something I’m sure. but we went on a Friday and there was nothing going on. So we drank. This is a decent place for beer but they are weak on their cocktail selection. they were out of a lot of flavors. I figured out a cocktail I wanted based on their selection and it was so weak I might as well had it in a sippy cup. Ugh. Boo. The bartenders are very nice though and the crowd is definitely chill.
