Please be warned! My husband needed to have a tooth extracted and this place was running a special to have it done for $ 87 total. The consultation was pleasant enough (though my husband is wary of dentists and thought the Dr. he spoke with seemed a little «spacey»). Regardless of his apprehension they moved forward with the procedure. –Obviously, we are working with very little money or we wouldn’t have needed the $ 87 deal. The only time they could get him in was Tuesday which caused me to lose 7 paycheck hours to drive him around and watch our 5 year old.– After several hours the Dr. asked me to come back. Nightmare! She pulled part of the tooth out and left the other part worried it would puncture his sinuses. They told us that a dental surgeon would see him for a consult that night. A consult?! Seriously? He was supposed to have half a tooth hang out of his mouth until the next day because the dental «professional» couldn’t do her job? They were also very careful not to mention how much the situation they were forcing me to deal with was going to cost us now. The dental surgeon did remove the other half a tooth working for about half an hour. $ 295 bill! The audacity of Dr. Willoughby’s staff to charge us $ 75 for the experience is beyond reason. Remember, the special was supposed to be $ 87. Where did this $ 75 charge come from? Especially considering they failed to remove the tooth completely… Including the needed antibiotics and pain medicine the whole experience cost us $ 400. If you would prefer not to chance having $ 0 for groceries or gas for a week I suggest you find another dentist!

Dr. Willoughby’s practice is just what I was after when I looked for a dentist for my family after moving to Asheville.
She’s an excellent professional and the practice runs well from the patient’s perspective. The front desk people are helpful and speedy. The hygienists are excellent and comforting.
My son has liked coming to the dentist ever since we switched from one of those «child dentistry» practices where they condescend to kids and don’t listen to them. This is one of the reasons I will stay with Dr. Willoughby and also why I recommend her to anyone who brings up the word «dentist.»
One warning, though, and this isn’t uncommon with medical and dental practices today. You have to pay in full at the time of service. They don’t accept insurance, but rather file your claim on your behalf immediately. That means you have to have the dough on hand, which can be a challenge if you’re getting much work done. I think they offer some form of financing.
Overall, I don’t know that you could do better.
