Simply Sitters of Ashland

We have used this service during two 5 day trips to OSF at Ashland. It’s mostly used by locals by it’s also perfect for the visiting theater goer. The rates are very good considering most of the time we have gotten daycare workers. We have some experience with
so this approach to finding a sitter was familiar. I really appreciate how Danya, the owner, does her best to schedule the same sitter for all our booking requests.
The process — You fill out a form describing your kid’s needs and your expectations and when you need a sitter. We basically booked during each play we saw. There’s a booking fee per day charged through paypal. Several days before the first session you get a confirmation with bios of the sitters. The sitters show up about five minutes before start time in the hotel lobby. When you get back after your event you pay cash.

This was the first time we ever tried to find a baby sitter on the internet. We were looking for a sitter for 2 very active grade schoolers and we got one. The sitter David took the kids to the park and fed them and basically wore them out, which is hard to do! We received a bio and picture of him beforehand, and that was also helpful to ease the kids into the situation.
Danya was very good at communicating with me, although there was an initial user glitch where I failed to fill the application out correctly and didn’t realize it. My bad, but I followed up with an email and got an immediate response. The rates seemed very reasonable, and she treated us like a local group rather than 2 separate families, which was appreciated (another service quoted $ 10 per hour per family, $ 20 total per hour, whereas our price was clearly on the website.) The only thing that could stand improvement is the confirmation process. I like to have confirmation details before I leave; Danya assured me we were good to go and would receive confirmation closer to the date, but that didn’t happen until the day before the sitting. That made me a bit nervous, but it was all good in the end.
We’re looking forward to trying this again next summer, and this time seeing more than one play without the younglings!

We’ve used this at-​home service several times now and Danya, the owner, is just the best. She’s very friendly and responsive. They are very accommodating and work around your needs and schedule. We’ve had a few different sitters and all of them are have been great and good with kids. My son looks forward to when we have a sitter, which is quite a nice surprise. This service was perfect for us when we first moved here because we didn’t really know anyone who could refer us to a sitter. All the sitters have been prescreened and Simply Sitters will provide you with a picture and bio of the sitter when you’re confirmed. I would highly recommend them.
