On a recent trip to Ashland, my parents picked up a box of chocolates from Zorba’s. They returned home, and two of the chocolates were eaten, but four were remaining. They passed them along to me since I’m vegan, explaining that they didn’t care too much for the taste. So I tried one. And it was, well, OK. Not extraordinary or mind-blowing. Just OK. That doesn’t mean I didn’t eat the rest of them, but they left a little something extra — that kick — to be desired. Now I have a friend who has made raw vegan chocolate truffles from scratch in the past, so I know just how time-consuming and difficult they are to make. However, I also know just how good they can taste. These ones though? They just didn’t quite cut it. And at a price tag of $ 15 for a box of six chocolates, I feel they should have.
