The Home Depot

In response to Home Depot, I honestly can’t tell you the names of the 3 salesmen and one saleswoman. I never notice name tags, wish I could tell you.

I’m a contractor out of this area and the Home Depot at this location has been my home store. Since the renovation this store has made huge changes for the better. I just want to thank the staff for making each experience a smooth and easy transition. Also there is one special person I’d like to call out for being a huge help with my projects. If you need something look for Araceli. Thank you again staff and the whole Home Depot team!

Really baaaaaad. it took some time to find someone to cut carpet for me. I had to help the guy because he can not operate the cutting machine by himself and when I got home the carpet was one foot short. Likely I measured extra so it still fit. But imagine if it didn’t. I would have to go back to the store return it and get another one. Waste of easily 3 or 4 hours.
Get it right home depot people please. If you font like the job quit don’t make it hard on customers

I used the «$ 19 for 75 minutes!!» truck rental. Lie. It was more like $ 28 for an hour. First of all, when I arrived, there was ONE man in line ahead of me. As I waited (and waited and waited and waited), many other men appeared. Once the first man finished up, the fellows who arrived behind me were helped. When I finally asked if perhaps my gender was a problem, I was given a snarky answer, «I don’t even work this department!» (Really? Gee, I’m sorry I don’t know your work schedule, and I’m really sorry I didn’t make department assignments this morning, but, um, oh, that’s right!, I’m a customer!) To get things moving in the right direction, I apologized for giving the guy a hard time. He just did not care and proceeded to treat me as disrespectfully as possible, which is ALWAYS a good way to treat customers who just apologized for being treated with disrespect by an employee in the first place.
After finally securing the truck, I ran over to the greenhouse area and had a very sweet couple of Home Depot guys load up the truck by simply lifting a palette of mulch directly into the back of the truck. I got home, offloaded all my mulch, then returned the truck with 20 minutes to spare. The same tool (rental guy) checked me back in, and dressed me down for leaving «trash» in the truck (the palette that was beneath the mulch), and not having a gas receipt. (I live less than one mile away. I used about a quart of gasoline.) I was charged, apparently, $ 9 for a gallon of gas. Sweet guy that he is, I wasn’t charged a fee for the trash in the back (a perfectly good, reusable palette that, as far as I knew, was property of the Home Depot). Of course, no mention was made of the piles of rocks, sand, concrete chips and other debris that was strewn pretty thick in the bed that *I* had to sweep up so that my bags of mulch weren’t shredded.
But I guess the rules are different for girls.
So ladies, to sum up, the tool rental guys are the real tools, and the pricing seems to be variable based on gender and appearance. It may be safer, easier, and less abusive to find a friend with a truck to borrow instead of renting one of these. And by the way, the truck was fine, and the rest of the store experience was fine, but the rental department was awful, sexist, trashy, and extremely disrespectful.

What a well run establishment. Super helpful employees constantly approaching customers in store offering to assist and help them find items they may be looking for. Huge selection of any sort of item you may need garden selection beyond anything you can imagine, any sort of tile you could need, huge range of anything electric. I only have a four start for two reasons, they had tons of grills and huge selection of gas grills but charcoal grill selection was somewhat limited. Not sure why. I love that smell of the coals cooking. Also, my two year old daughter love those carts that have the seat with the steering wheel for her but this location didn’t seem to have any. Asked at entrance and they said they are at exit but asked at exit they said at entrance, everyone was super nice but didn’t seem to know. Some my cute adorable 2 year old child said Daddy daddy drive carts all gone! Great place to shop if you need adult carts and non charcoal grill.

I will give this place 2 stars because there was one man at the cash register who was a sweet heart. He stayed open a few min after turning off his light to take his dinner break. He was incredibly pleasant and I’m sorry I didn’t get his name.
I wasn’t happy with this Home Depot at all. Not one person was helpful besides the cashier I mentioned earlier. They had security guards walking around and that makes things uncomfortable. Makes you feel like a thief.
Then we go outside to load up the truck and are approached by a man with a very strong accent. His car was stuck in the parking lot and he needed a jump start. He offered us $ 20 to give him a jump start. Now that’s sad that he would think to have to pay someone to show a little kindness. He told us he was from Milan Italy and has never experienced this type of behavior. He said in Milan people will jump at the chance to help you. Before approaching us he went into this Home Depot and asked them for help. They told him they will not help him and will have his truck towed if he doesn’t get it started with in half an hour. He wasn’t hindering traffic. He was parked in a parking space at the top of the parking lot (in an empty lot) not blocking anything. I am speechless. Is this what people here have become?

This is about telephone and customer service; I have never physically visited the store, so I can’t comment on it. I can warn against trying to work with these folks by phone or email. I have been trying to place an order with this store (for pick up) for a week now. It’s not a complicated order and «Tom» has had a written list of what I need for five days. Each day, I call and speak with (or try to speak with) him. He assures me he’s almost done and will call me in 30 minutes or an hour or later that afternoon. He doesn’t. I have now been on hold for over 20 minutes and, again, can’t get anyone to help me. If I didn’t already have shipments on their way to this store, I’d just go elsewhere. I’m stuck this time, but there will not be a next time.

I recently worked with AJ in the Kitchen Design Department as part of my kitchen remodeling project and she was wonderful, hands down, one of the best! The only disappointment is when I have to call the store to follow up on my order and I never reach a human being, instead I keep getting bounced back to the switchboard time after time.

Great customer service!
I just made my bi-​annual trip to Home Depot with a long list. As I wandered through the store, I was met with very helpful staff who escorted me to the various departments to find special light bulbs, a bathroom fan, door knobs and other items. A special shout out to Marcus who patiently assisted me through checkout when I ran into a snafu.
The store is clean, well organized and staffed with diligent employees. It couldn’t be better.

Decent enough. Just like every other Home Depot, I want to buy ALL THE TOOLS!

Staff not knowledgeable or helpful. Stuff is not is stock. Store is not neat. Trying to replace a garden spigot — five employees later, I just left. Today I bought a ladder. Got up front finally and no bar code. The employee looked up the product on her phone making a guess. I said it was $ 89, she said $ 109 and I assumed it must have been under the wrong price tag. When I got home, I looked it up and sure enough she was not right but I dislike the store so much (there was an argument in the parking lot today) that I ate the twenty bucks.

This is your basic Home Depot folks! It always seems like they are ‘improving’ this store and it is super dusty/​dishelved. I don’t mind but my husband gets grossed out by the layers of dust on everything.
We placed a built in (closet maid) custom closet in out master suite and it looks great! It ran us about $ 700 for materials. This HD is where we purchased the supplies!

Worst experience ever. Customer service sucks, not enough employees to customer ratio. If you don’t want to work at Home Depot then don’t. Don’t sit there give me attitude and have that «I don’t want to assist you» face. Asked one lady for paint samples she said okay then left bc her shift was over. Waited 15minutes for another rude man to tell me that particular paint can’t be sampled. Wth. I had rude ppl. Get your ass another job bc customer service is not your thing, which is fine but don’t get me in a bad mood bc your stuck in this job.

Came here last week and was really disappointed in the customer service, not one person asked me if I needed help. Took me at least 5 min to track someone down and still got bupkis. This location is currently under construction so it made it quite difficult locating items. But today three people approached me to help. One guy Ivin walked me over to the key machine and assisted me the entire time, was friendly and chatty. Hope this type of customer service continues!!! Ivin got the 5 stars! Hope someone in corporate is listening…

This is the closest Home Depot to my house… or I wouldn’t even bother going. It is the poorest run Home Depot franchise in the area.
The staff can’t bothered to help and it’s embarrassing that a «weekend handyman» like myself knows more about the products than the employees who are selling them. «Yeah, let me go look for that for you» is Home Depot speak for «I’m never coming back». The place is so disorganized. Now they’re in the midst of an expansion. Awesome! Even MORE space to misplace products, be ignored and not helped. WIN!
And nothing is EVER in stock… even though the «Pick-​Up In Store» option will tell you there’s X amount in Bay X it’s almost never there. How do you have 48 of a product in-​stock (online), yet when I get there none can be found? NOT ONE. This, sadly, is the norm rather than the occasional misstep by this Home Depot.
The one good thing about this location is the horde of day workers that mob you at the entrance. While I’m not here to speak to their efforts to find work, or make a few dollars… it’s a little annoying to have them constantly panhandle while you wait for your turn to get onto Georgia Ave. The upside is that I’ve been able to learn conversational Spanish without having to buy the overpriced Rosetta Stone products. So, there’s that.
Home Depot — More Saving. More Doing. (if you can find someone to help you and the product is in stock)

We go to this Home Depot a lot. We’ve had some good experiences with a few «associates», but overall, the staff aren’t very knowledgeable in this particular store. They tend to direct you to the wrong place for items or just aren’t able to answer specific questions about the items in their areas.
We’ve had better experiences with staff in the Germantown and Frederick Home Depots, but this one is the closest to us, so we tend to frequent it more by default. Also, the other Home Depots tend to be cleaner and more organized.

Home Depot Fail: ordered online for pickup. At store service desk personnel are completely overwhelmed while one desk remains vacant and other employees have nothing to do. Line is tangled up so badly a customer waltzes in and gets served before the folks who’ve been waiting 30 minutes notice. I finally make it to the desk and evidently somebody took my lawn mower basket home yesterday. How does that happen?! They don’t have another in stock. Hours of time wasted and now I need to tangle with Visa to make sure I don’t get charged.

I left them such a bad review, and had such a positive recent experience, I felt obliged to update. I had a broken seal on a window I bought there 10 years ago and installed myself.
I just wanted to try to find how/​where to get a replacement. The guy there looked me up in their system (from over a decade ago), found my original invoice and ordered a new window under warranty!
You can’t ask for better service than that.
I hope it’s catching with other employees there…

Very helpful and friendly staff! I needed to find shelving to hang clothes in my closet. The staff was very knowledgeable!
I had come to Home Depot previously looking for specific measurements of Closet-​Maid shelving. This visit I finally realized that I needed the wire shelves cut to match the measurements of my closets. One staff member offered to cut them. Then escorted me to find another employee to figure out if the metal bar could be cut as well. When we found the other employee, Ron S, he explained to me that normally they only cut wood but that he could cut it for me. He used a saw and his muscle strength to cut through the metal! Because of the staff’s willingness to help, I have the closet I’ve always wanted! Thank you!!!
