I took a snowshoe trip through Aspen Alpine Guides in March 2016. The trip took us up the west side of Buttermilk and into the bowl between Buttermilk and Snowmass. It was gorgeous and peaceful, and we didn’t see another soul. My guide was Buzz Patten, who was great — having lived in Aspen for 40+ years, he had a tremendous amount of local knowledge. He was good company on the hike and followed up after the trip with suggestions for my next trip to Colorado. I would strongly recommend this trip and Buzz in particular for anyone who’s looking for something a little different to do in Aspen during the winter.

One of the two main guiding/adventure tour companies in Aspen. We worked with two guides Mary(for both hiking and climbing) and Derek(joined for the climb). Both were friendly, patient, caring and skilled. Mary has a ton of experience doing the most extreme things imaginable. This company can set you up with a guided trip doing just about anything… overnight backpacking, ice climbing, rock climbing, pick your poison. I’d definitely go out with them again, everyone was all smiles on both trips.
