Paul is very knowledgable and affable. I used his services to file an individual tax return. He informed me of the materials I needed to bring and took the time to review my prior tax return. When I ended up owing some taxes back, he explained why, and how I could mitigate that in the future if I so desired. He also provided several suggestions for lowering my tax bracket. To round it out, he packaged a nice folder with a copy of everything he filed for me. Highly recommended!

Paul is the best accountant, period. Knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. He knows the tax code in depth and even gives you concrete advice on how to lower your tax bill next year. He is very generous with his time when you are there, and he takes the time to review your case before your visit. He even did my California taxes once, after I moved from there.
I have been going there for 5 years now, and plan to keep going for as long as I’m in NYC. I would give him 10 stars if I could — highly recommended!

The owner is very helpful he even solved some questions about a delayed with my federal taxes return. Plus! You can even do it online if its your second time so you want need to go to the office (have a paypal account).- MAKE AN APPOINTMENT — dont just stop by.

Thought I’d put in that little fun fact for um… fun.
The office is small which is really 2 offices split into one space. When you walk in, you are already in office 1. Paul is in office 2.
I rather like the small setting for taxes especially with the intimate feel that it brings. No one likes to pay taxes and more so if you don’t get tax returns but the service I got was impeccable.
Paul is a friendly dude that will answer all your questions you have about taxes and what you need to do.
He makes sure you have a copy of everything filed for your keepsake and I got my tax return quite promptly.
I did have to pay back some cash which wasn’t a fun day for me but Paul made it easy to amend taxes. Speaking of which I really need to check up on even though I practically paper clipped everything except the damn envelope itself.
Ugh, taxes. April is probably the most stressful month for any person.
Cost wise it varies so I won’t jot down a number in this review. What I will say is that it is reasonable for the service you get and Paul is quite busy during tax season.
He also handles actor’s/performer’s taxes which is the main reason I trekked here to do mines.

Paul is accessible, efficient, quick and thorough. He completed my taxes for me quicker than any other place i Have been. He spent so much time trying to break down everything for me and was fine with explaining things more than once. Before our initial meeting he was more than accessible by email, he always repleid very quickly and with thorough answers. I always thought going to an accountant or anyplace besides the chain places like Liberty Tax and H and R block would run me an arm and a leg but it was actually significantly more affordable! And no surprises!
As long as I remain in the Queens area I will continue to go to Paul to do my taxes.

Another perfect turn of event my previous tax preparer is sending me emails wondering how I am doing, please that biitch, he is not doing my taxes again, he should had been watching ALDC and learn the phrase «everyone is replaceable» that’s what he gets for getting to comfortable and doing my taxes late two years in a row, shame on you the first time, shame on me the second, so after 7 years he got the boot .

I’m really blown away by the service I got from AKD.
I called a lot of other tax places in the city and most of them didn’t seem interested in answering even basic questions about my taxes unless I made an appointment to come in. I guess it’s understandable. They’re busy and they don’t wanna give away advice for free.
Then I called AKD. The guy on the phone answered every question I had, no matter how basic or mundane and was super patient and thorough in his explanations.
AKD helped me maximize my business-​related deductions and really made me feel comfortable through the whole process.
