I didn’t know that there was such a thing as an honest real estate broker in Astoria until I met Paul Halvatzis at Amorelli. He wasn’t even my broker, he was the seller’s broker, but he helped me all the way through my transaction to buy my house. Since then, he has helped me to find a contractor and numerous other service people and even reviewed the contractor’s bid for me — line by excruciating line — to make sure I was getting a fair price.
I want to respond to Cindy C.‘s review because I was the person who bought the house that she is talking about. It was an incredibly complicated transaction that went through months of uncertainty in the probate court. From the time the seller accepted my offer until the close was about 9 months!!! To Paul and Christina’s credit, they could have easily strung me along and sold me out for a higher offer at any time. At the very end, I had been approved for a mortgage, and then the appraisal came in insanely low. Low enough that the appraiser ended up getting fired over how she mishandled the entire thing. In the meantime, I had to apply for a new loan all over again, which made me late on the closing. Again, Paul could have easily screwed me over and didn’t. But he also took excellent care of the seller. I really can’t say enough good things about Paul, Christina and the whole team at Amorelli. Cindy, I am sorry that my great experience was at the expense of yours. But it sounds like everything that Paul told you was true.

Had a great experience dealing with Amorelli. Dealt with wonderful people who were very responsive and showed that they actually cared. (The type of treatment you receive only when dealing with a family owned business) Look forward to dealing with them in regards to any of my future real estate ventures. Highly recommend.

1 star because they are friendly in-​person, and that is about it.
I saw a place in the neighborhood for sale. Called up the number. The real estate agent, Christina, showed the place to me and my husband.
We placed a bid the next day, and submitted all of our paperwork. She received it and said would get back to us and never did. We waited a few days and called her back, she asked if we could do a larger down payment. Long story short, there was some back and forth, but it was us following up with them, they never called us back. Even to this day, they never told us whether our bid was accepted or rejected. They told us that there was another previous potential buyer (before we even saw it) who offered a larger down payment, but then the money never came through. However, for some reason, they couldn’t sell it to us yet because of some sort of binding with that previous potential buyer. It dragged on and on. Basically, they were stringing us along. It really left a bad impression, and we would not recommend doing business with these guys. I don’t like to write bad reviews but the truth must be told.

can you give no stars? these people are rude. ironic when their web site says they’re family owned and all their agents are courteous!

This is crap! I called the guy yesterday and he suggested I meet him at 9:00 AM earlier today. Well, I waited in front of his office for 15 minutes and no one showed up. Not worth the trek.
