My favorite loukoumades ever! The staff are also extremely friendly and offered me samples while I waited for my order.

The best loukoumades in the city aside from the homemade ones! They are shaped differently than the traditional ones, but taste good. They are freshly made to order, and you can have them in many different ways! Better loukoumades than any other bakery or restaurants. Go try with frappé!

Nothing like the reviews and sincerely do not comprehend the rave reviews. Got six for $ 4 worth of hollow greasy ring shaped dough that were quite tasteless. Would never even dare call these things donuts. So i highly recommend to pass on these.

literally as good as it gets. I go in the summer and stand outside at a table with a friend and eat loukoumades. I’ve never tried anything else, never get anything but cinnamon & sugar on them, never try to sit down – why ruin something perfect? loukoumades look worse in pictures than they do in person. also, they are incredibly generous here and I’ve never had them NOT give me 2 or 3 extra. bring a couple of friends!

This isn’t really a sit down café, you pretty much buy and go. It is a very Greek café. I am not familiar with Greek pastries so I asked, they can’t really explain in English what they were. Ended up just bought a sandwich and a coffee.

I hardly give 5 stars. Tonight I came by after a rough day around 6. It was pretty empty except for a few loungers in the enclosure outside the store. I was looking for dessert and this café was rated highly. Only when I came in did I understand it was a Greek café. Giovanni was the guy making stuff and came around and steered me to the Loukamades, which I guess now I know what it is. The owner is Effie, friendly, down to earth. None of that hipster shit I had to deal with in so many other neighborhood. Thank the Greek gods. I only tried the Loukamades cause I just got some delicious souvlaki from King souvlaki across the street. But oh damn hot dog you have to have some. I ate all 6 in a flash, especially cause I held the container wrong and a bunch of honey was dripping all over my clothes on my short walk home. I wasn’t even mad. Worth it. This café has a really nice and friendly vibe. One of those places where I am more than happy to tip, ya know? The café has been here for 3 years. I hope it continues to flourish.

Very cute authentic Greek café. Coffee is on the stronger side but pretty good. They have a lot of different pastries, must try. I had this cheese stuffed pasty, delicious! But be ready for a heavy meal/snack, great choice for cheese fans. Very fresh, recommended!

This tiny, unassuming Greek café has the best loukoumades. Made to order, drenched in honey, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. Eat them while they’re hot. I usually enjoy the short walk here from my apartment, but one particularly hungover morning, my roommates and I found out they deliver. Best/worst discovery ever.

Location: take N, Q and get off on Broadway station at Queens. Get heated for a 3 mins walk, and be prepared for greet donut festival. Café Boulis a carb’s heaven a dieter’s nightmare a foodie’s home a cheapmeal for every moment I was there, longing for greet donut. Here you are, 6 Loukamades for only 4 dollars and I ate you up with no mercy. But at the end, it turns out that I love you so much that I could not let you go. I think I will come back, come back for the fresh made, hot Loukamades. Astoria, a new sunday brunch spot, is in my bookmark 24/7, asking me to go, to go

Small and unassuming, this authentic Greek café is easy to overlook. I’d passed by before and noticed a lot of older looking locals gathered for coffee and conversation, giving the place a friendly feel. Their loukoumades are deliciously prepared and highly sought after, giving this quaint neighborhood fixture a gourmet flare. In addition to a great price tag(we got 12 for $ 8), these donuts are freshly made and piping hot, allowing for a superb light, fluffy texture. The traditional seasoning is a honey sauce with powdered sugar — it was kind of like eating the best funnel cakes ever. They also offer Nutella and fruit toppings which will be hard to resist the next time I’m there. I need to try their coffee. These prices are actually a little steeper than the pastry ones but the coffee looks strong and satisfying. They don’t mess around here; they specialize in coffee and café items and they do it well. Two quick words of warning: it’s often smoky right outside, as customers seem to linger there to talk and smoke cigarettes. If you’re sensitive to smoke, it can be a little overpowering as it seems to filter into the café too. Also, Café Boulis is tiny. Not a complaint but something to keep in mind if you’re hoping for a seat or are on the prowl for donuts with a group.

They have some really strong coffee at this place. I tried some with Greek milk. It was BOLD in flavor and impactful with the caffeine. I hat a cheese and pepper rolled up… Pie? Not sure but it was to right of the cashier. It was delicious. Like I mean wow! I’ll be going back to try more stuff.

This place is awesome. I mostly get the homemade Loukamades. 6 donuts made to order with honey, powered sugar, and cinnamon for $ 4(they usually end up giving you 8). You can’t beat it. I’ve only gotten the spinach pies and those were pretty average. Not bad though if you’re craving one. But I’d go here mostly for the Loukamades and some coffee(I haven’t tried the coffee but a lot of people are drinking them every time I come here. This place is a must stop if you have a sweet tooth in Astoria.

Food: This place is awesome for authentic Greek coffee and sweets. I had to try this place after hearing amazing things about their home made fresh Loukoumades(greek donuts) and WOW they are amazing. First we were greeted by a lovely girl who attended to us and made us feel very comfortable as she explains their coffee and loukoumades to us. Almost felt like we’re back in a small café in Greece. She then fired up her machine and made us fresh loukoumades. Total wait time about 4 minutes. You could get them with either honey or chocolate drizzled on top. I got half and half, Both very delicious. They also have other greek classics to choose from. Brew: No beer here but they do brew 100% authentic greek coffee. I suggest to hold the sugar on whatever beverage you choose because you will get sweetness from the honey and chocolate that’s on your loukoumades. Unless you get them plain. I actually asked them what pairs best and they have lots of great suggestions.

In a recent visit to an Athenian neighborhood almost on the outskirts of Greece’s largest city(about 3 million folks) I came across the tiny Café Boulis(CB). CB is a traditional neighborhood café featuring their retake on Loukoumades, deep fried dough glazed with a honey/sugar-water mixture, the greek version of donuts. two styles of spanakopitas(spinach bourek/pies) and tiropitas(chesse filled bourek/pies), respectively. I’m partial to the homemade spanakopita and the GF prefers the classic variety. We also ordered frappes the de facto national summer coffee Greek drink. Nothing like the Starbuck offering. The original Greek version is a concoction of instant coffee(specifically Nestle), ice and water. Milk and sugar are offered to taste. Most Greeks tend to enjoy their frappes with condensed milk(specifically Nounou band) and one teaspoon of sugar(to order you would ask(phonetically: «frappé, me-trio me galla). CB also offers traditional Greek sweets that should really be attributed to the Middle-East, such as baklava abd kataif. We were too stuffed to try any of these diabolically enticing goodies and thought we’d return on our next trip to Greece. Except that CB has been transplanted from the aforementioned Athenian neighborhood to Astoria, Queens, which for all common purposes is one and the same.

These fried deliciousness of joy! I’ve been wanting to come here for a while now, and I’m so glad I did. The loukomades are amazing. They are Greek donuts, almost similar to a zeppole. They are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. And, they make them right in front of you! It only takes about 5 – 10 min to make. And only 5 – 10 minutes to eat them all! My suggestion is to get the traditional loukomades. It consists of honey, cinnamon, and powered sugar. . 12 for $ 8 is an amazing deal. My boyfriend and I could barely finish all 12, because they’re pretty filling. But we finished them anyway! Definitely worth the hype!

My friend brought the loukamades from here for the first time and it was so delicious that my other friend and I came back 20 mins later for more haha. This time instead of the powdered sugar we got the Nutella loukamades and Omgosh it was amazing. it melted in my mouth it was nice and buttery. When we came in the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They loved that my friend and I came back for more when my other friend bought it 20 mins ago. Boy was the second dose of it just as wonderful! I feel like I can see the love of making the loukamades in the staff and it makes me even more excited to devour it!

Stopped in Café Boulis yesterday morning to finally try some Loukoumades(Greek donuts, similar to zeppoles) and they were just as delicious as I hoped! The Loukoumades are made fresh to order on site so we ordered 8 traditional(honey, cinnamon, and powdered sugar) and 4 with nutella. They sell 12 for $ 8 but you can opt for more or less. We waited for about 5 – 10 minutes for the loukoumades to be made and the cook was nice enough to throw us some extras! We walked out with 12 traditional and 6 nutella, ALL of which tasted amazing. This café sells a lot more than Loukoumades and their menu is separated according to sweet and salty. I’ll definitely be back to pick up some of these donuts the next time I have a house warming or party to go to. I’m excited for the warmer weather to get here so that I can enjoy the loukoumades outside the café with a cup of coffee.

The friendliness! The Loukomades! The warmth(from the staff and the loukomades)! This is a tiny little shop that will do you up am amazing custom, warm, fresh greek donut. You could get it with toppings like nutella or fruit, but why? Cinnamon and honey on a warm fresh donut(loukomades) makes my world.
