Was drunk off my ass, but still managed to be offended that a perfectly nice chicken kebab had generic sysco barbecue sauce all over it… and this also cost me $ 6. Would have rather had halal cart.

Beef is lean, and oh, so tender! Opens 7 days, till around 4am. Friendly people, service is quick.

This is my go to cart on THIS side of Astoria. Souvlaki lady will always hold my heart, but now I live over here and this guy is a close second. The meat has a crisp to it in the right places, sauces are on point — cheap and quick. What else can you ask for? I’m a bit picky when it comes to my meat on a stick(ha) but this guy has never failed me. Drunk, sober, hung over or just plain hungry.

Best spot for both chicken and beef! Tried many places but this place is the best hands down. Willing to drive out of the way after a good night out or even after a good workout

Quite possibly the WORST street food cart in NYC. There is nothing to like about this cart. The ‘food’ is terrible. The meat is overcooked with a consistency close to rubber and taste not unlike shoe leather. The cart itself is disgusting. Leaking fluids and inexplicable brownish accumulation coat the surfaces and surrounding sidewalk. I hope you like cigarette ash on your food. Last but not least, the awful attitude of the guys who run the cart. Although if I hated everybody this is the kind of ‘food’ I would serve them. With so many great places within acouple of blocks, it makes not sense why anybody should go near this place. One Star is one star too many.

In my apartment, we have a change jar labeled ‘souvlaki fund’ dedicated to this cart. My bf and I also use it as leverage/punishment in fights — «Oh, you don’t want to wash the dishes? Fine. I’ll just get a souvlaki later. WITHOUTYOU.» I love and dream about the beef stick. It’s so consistently tender, and they give just the right amount of meat, bread, and sauce to entertain me the rest of the walk home and stave off hunger for a few hours. I have tried to recreate the experience in my kitchen, telling myself it should be simple — lemon, bbq, hot sauce, stick of meat, grill — but my end result falls sooo short that it must be a testament to the magicalness coming from this cart(as opposed to say, my cooking ability). The cart is unfortunately located for me though. Unfortunate in the sense that I have to pass it 4 times a day to go to work, home, and gym. That kind of temptation can really suck a souvlaki fund dry.

It’s 3am. You’re the designated driver of your knuckleheaded drunken friends. Do you hit a late drive through to sate your hunger? Hell no my friends! You come here!!! As far as I know, they never close. The souvlaki(don’t EVER say kebab to Greeks) are always fresh tasting and meaty, rather than fatty. Do yourself a favor. Don’t do as my aforementioned knuckleheaded friends and slather your skewers in sauces. Simple lemon, oregano and a LITTLE salt will do just fine.

Excellent choice for a snack(or meal) if you’re in the area. King of Falafel down the block gets all the love but there’s no question that this cart serves superior chicken. At $ 2.75 for a skewer consisting of four to five sizable pieces, it’s not exactly cheap, but it’s fairly priced considering the amount of meat provided. Two to three skewers should do as a hearty meal for most, each coming with a soft slice of baguette. I would recommend accepting all of the suggested sauces(which have been barbeque, lemon, and hot sauce the times that I’ve gone). You can also get your skewers as part of a platter, with lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Each piece of chicken or beef is plump, juicy, and has a pleasant smokiness. The gentlemen who work this cart are friendly and the quality of the meat itself is fairly high for a street cart. As I like to say: This souvlaki is the second best thing that can happen to a guy at 4am.

These guys definitely don’t sleep. I’ve gotten stuff from them at 3am(after waiting in a surprising line given the hour) and seen them cooking at 10am. Simple and delicious. Beef on a stick– best ever. Have to admit– part of me was tempted to say they require a jacket and tie… but I restrained myself.

Not sure if these guys sleep, because no matter what time of day(or night) I pass by, they’re open(and have folks ordering food, too). Besides keeping 7-Eleven type hours, this cart has the best chicken souvlaki, bar none. I usually get two, one in the pita with everything and the other on a stick with lemon and BBQ sauce. Plenty of grub for a «good eater» like me. Always delicious and always cheap. Even if you don’t live in Astoria(and I don’t), it would be worth your time to go here. What are you waiting for?! Go now! THEY’REOPEN!!!

I don’t believe these guys don’t have a Unilocal page yet! They are hands down the best Chicken Souvlaki street vendor in all of Astoria!!! People talk about the guys on 31st St and Steinway, but these guys are WAYYYY better! The chicken is super moist and tender and their pitas are amazing! What I get is the chicken Souvlaki on a stick(lemon, hot sauce, &BBQ) with pita on the side and dip everything into the Tzatziki sauce! Its the perfect snack or a small meal! Street food doesn’t get any better!
