Easom Property Management

I have been trying to see ANY place that they have for rent for over two months. They put me on «lists» and then never got back to me about any of them. So I started calling every other day on the only property they had left on the website. They said they would call the tenants and call me right back so I would call them two days later and they would say no one called but they would call the tenants now and call me right back and, you guessed it, nothing! This went on for TWO WEEKS! Eventually I drove by the house (I was in town from Portland) and saw that the tenants were moved out. I called and left several messages asking if I could look at it that day and got no call back. I honestly can’t imagine ever renting from this company. What would it be like to get ahold of them if something went wrong?! They were very nice when I did get ahold of them but just gave me the run around so much. I eventually found a different place from a different person. PLEASE TRY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF POSSIBLE! There are other people and places renting, keep your chin up and don’t settle for this company.

Wish i could give them zero stars! This company is awful and have NO regard for the law. A family member of mine lives in one of their rental properties, has for many many years. This person has recently become disabled and can no longer make it to the apartment due to some stairs outside. I have written them several letters asking Easom for «reasonable modification» of the outside to allow a small ramp to be put in. They have repeatedly denied my requests, which is completely illegal. They apparently have no compassion for others, and no regard for the Fair Housing Act. Sadly for them, this fight is FAR from over.

The absolute worst property management company I have ever rented from. I have been renting for eleven years now, all over the country, probably about 6 different management companies but they are the worst. They don’t cash checks for about 15 days after you pay, which really messes up your checking balance. They like to ignore your request for work that needs to be done to the apartment and when you call them back they act like they never talk to you. They are just unpleasant to work with, they make you feel like they are your customer like they are doing you a favor for renting from them. I really hope another property management company comes to town so people have a option rather than being stuck with this terrible, unprofessional company. It not the workers so much but the owners. They will nickel and dime you. They took $ 120 out of my security deposit for cleaning after I left them a house that was better than I received it. They even tried to deduct for issues with the house before I even rent it. When I called to discuss this with them Kent Easom would not return my phone calls, I left multiple messages. I hope you guys read this especially coasties they are just out to get every penny than can from you go with someone else. And people of Astoria stop using them as your property managers be your own landlord or find someone that actually cares because they will probably try to screw you also.

We were looking for a rental property with Easom as they had a lot of good homes for rent. But they seem completely unwilling to work with you. Tried being very polite and considerate but that was only met with snarky rebuttals. I understand that they have some things they cannot ‘budge’ on but there is no excuse for the way they handled our calls/​inquiries as we are actively looking to rent out properties of theirs. I cannot stress enough that were TRYING to give them our money but they refused without even listening to our story.
Much rather work with Sowins or Craigslist home owners as it seems they are a lot more organized and welcoming than this ‘company’.

We attempted to use Easom Property Management to manage our property since we move out of state and it was a train wreck. We weren’t happy and the tenants weren’t happy so we ended up firing them. On top of the 10% monthly management fee they also mark up any extra repairs on top of that by 10%. We had some flooring redone at the cost of $ 3000 and they charged us 10% ($ 300) for making the phone call and ensuring the carpet was put in. Talk about criminal. I would highly recommend not using Easom for your property management needs or renting any property from Easom, unless you want them to rob you blind.

We were charged for repairs and yard care that we never signed for, but when the siding blew off the house in a wind storm the took no action. Must not have been profitable in their eyes.
