Was passing by with my friend after gym, in a mood for some middle eastern food.
Entered randomly and that was the best surprise!
So authentic and homie taste, enjoyed every single bite, and I think I’ve tried all their dishes;)
Definitely coming back here !

Love their shawarma on a late night on Steinway. Their hours can vary greatly day to day but the shawarma is great and low-​key. It’s pretty cheap too! Some places charge and upward of $ 15 for shawarma which is just way too much for a quick affordable bite.

Horrible service. We were paid no attention to. Did not get any napkins. Food took forever to come. Pretty much felt we were being kicked out.

The food was OK (nothing to write home about), but the service was absolutely terrible. The waitress made fun of our initial choice — my wife and I were thinking of having the pigeon, an Egyptian specialty which we hadn’t tried before — saying it was too small to be shared, and looking shocked that anyone would even think of having that. We thought there was perhaps something wrong with the pigeon, so we played it safe, ordering instead a chicken kabab platter and a serving of hummus with falafel. Again, the waitress seemed disappointed by our wanting to share an entrée, and tried to convince us to order something more expensive. This time we stayed with our choice. We also asked for some water — by which *any* waiter in the US should understand *tap water*, unless explicitly qualified — but instead were brought water bottles that we had to pay for. Later we were berated for not having finished our food. It also took the waitress forever to clear our table and bring us the check. And when the check came we discovered that a 15% «service charge» had already been added to our bill. We found this odd, given that we’d only seen this done for large groups before. But this wasn’t the end of it: the waitress insisted that the service charge *wasn’t* the tip, but something «for the kitchen», making it thus clear that we were also expected to leave the standard 18−20% tip on top of that.
All in all, a complete ripoff and one of the worst customer experiences we’ve had in NY.

I was very disappointed by what they have given my mom and I. We picked up 2 kashawan and 2 oregano pies. The pies were molding. Disgusting!

This Resturant is so dirty food I been stomach from them bad food, not only this service team are not good no respect attitude or good service they speak to you like you eat for free, I really knowing most Arabian food and how it’s good but this Resturant nothing looks good

Glad I made a pit stop in Astoria, I’ve been told for a while now that Astoria is the new foodie experience.
I thought of laughed it off, apparently I was wrong especially if you enjoy middle eastern food.
30^th ave can be a great place to start, my friend recommended this particular place.
The restaurant has a variety mix of food shwarma and other middle eastern food.

It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great either. The shawarma was very good but it was pretty tiny. The sandwich itself seemed kind of lackluster but the meat was good. Portions are very generous though.

I’m giving this place 4-​stars only because of the phenomenal cold guava, mango, strawberry (?) drink. This drink is layered and absolutely amazing, so memorable.
Their food is satisfactory. Average at best. But this drink. This drink makes this place.

This place has tasty food that never disappoints. We usually order Shawarma or falafels and eat it sitting in front of the store, on the three chairs they place up front. Nice and relaxing on a wonderful spring or summer day!

U can eat real, tasty shawarma here, it is my second time, first time i chose it randomly and i couldn’t remember it’s name, by experiencing around shop finally we found it.

this place is prob not the finest joint in all of steinway, but good god can they make shwarma. i lived in the middle east as a child and no other place has ever come close to shwarma in pita sandwiches. the white sauce is KEY! i wish you could ask them to put some french fries in it cos that would totally seal the deal, but we just add those bad boys ourselves. it’s a great time. also their cheeseburger is great for like a quick halal basic burger. we order out from here quite often. it’s the best!

I used to come here a very long time ago. I was happy to see very little about it has changed. It feels homely at El-​Rawsheh.
I was in the mood for Middle Eastern food and convinced some of my colleagues to make the trek from Sunset Park to Astoria. I was actually looking for another place I remember going, but then I saw it wasn’t there anymore. However, after passing the Arab Community Center and seeing El-​Rawsheh, I remembered the great memories I had here years ago.
The ambiance of El-​Rawsheh is very simple. If I get the chance to go to the Middle East, I feel the restaurants will be like this.
We all ordered shawarma sandwiches, which were delicious and cheap ($ 5). The meat was tender and cut in appropiate sizes. The vegetables and sauce added to the wrap complimented the meat very well. We also ordered french fries and hummus. The waitress actually forgot our order of hummus and brought us a order of falafel. We told her and she gave us the falafel on the house! The food great, but the waitress was amazing. She was so kind and attentive. We could see was very busy and did not mind she confused our order.
If you want authentic Lebanese food and you are in New York City, come to Astoria and try this place. Plus, you will get a taste of Arab American culture just walking the streets. Just make sure you stop in here for a bite.

Good place, i stopped there for a t and ended up having dinner and taking some food to go. The spinach pie is really good and some of the salads also.

The food is good, but the service is really bad (at least one waitress, she’s very rude and dishonest).
Me and my boyfriend came here and ordered two sandwiches and two cokes. The price of the sandwiches was $ 4 and $ 4.5. When we went to the front to pay, she said we owed $ 17 (but she didn’t give us a check or anything). We politely asked her to explain to us the price and she came up with random prices for everything (the numbers she gave us didn’t match the prices on the menu and they didn’t even –with tax– add up to $ 17). When we insisted to see a receipt she basically called us cheap and refused to give us further explanations.
We’ve been in this place before and this specific waitress has always been very rude. However, this is worse than rude, this is trying to cheat people and that’s totally unacceptable.

This is my go to place when I’m in Astoria. Best falafel. And creamy hummus. Authentic Lebanese food. Great hookah.

First time ever eating Lebanese food, other then Halal from the trucks on the street. I had lamb beef chicken sausage falafel hummus with chic pea and eggplant (THE EGGPLANT sauce with the hummus was GREAT) I came in a group of 13 people we ordered platers of food and ate from there. They had white sauce if you wanted some and hot sauce just everything.
Nothing tasted like halal from the truck, it was the real cuisine not the truck style.
Would I return? Yes but only with a friend that has eaten here before because idk what was actually ordered from the menu.
Also the lamb in a pita wrap was also very good.
I gave the place only 3 stars because the place isn’t as attractive to the eye and everything that was fried in the oil had the same taste even the French fries, which kinda tasted like the Falafel.

Great tasting meat, not so great tasting anything else, just sorta average, but the hummus is decent and it’s a halal spot, so you don’t really come here for the veg.
Pretty standard run spot for Steinway, and a good amount of room inside for a small group. Very well-​lit unlike the rest of this street, and good friendly service.
Menu is pretty straightforward too– just stick to what you came here for– the kababs and shawrmas.

Prices are good. Hummus is great. Cheese pie was pretty good. Sojouk sandwich was also not bad. The hummus was probably the best thing from what we ordered. I definitely want to try the falafel next time.
The atmosphere is cafeteria looking, but still authentic feeling if that makes any sense. They have TVs that play Lebanese (or Arabic?) shows, which are fun to watch (even though I understood nothing). You can get a hookah at your table with dinner, which is nice, but no one can really explain what the hookah items on the menu are.
The service was kind of slow so it took forever to get out of there. I’d probably still go back.

I just came back to El-​Rawsheh the other day and I can certainly say this may be the best Lebanese restaurant in New York City, yes ALL of NYC. Hands down no competition from any other Lebanese restaurant I have ever been to. I’ve had shawarmas elsewhere and they don’t even compare both in preparation and flavor. The subpar crap they serve at other restaurants is not authentic.
The Beef Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, Shish Taouk (chicken kebab) are all great choices here both in sandwich and rice plate form. But I prefer the sandwiches since they have a variety of ingredients and are more flavorful. Make sure to top off your Shish Taouk and Shawarma in some Tahini sauce and some hot sauce. And if you don’t care about your breath try the garlic dip, it’s delicious.
The Beef Shawarma is their specialty here. For a really tasty delight, ask for it to be made on only half of the pita and order 2 instead of one so you get the full flavor of all of the ingredients inside of the sandwich and a filling meal.
Their Baba ghanoush (roasted eggplant dip), and hummus are both delicious appetizers.
Other delicious sides include their Suijok (Small spiced sausages), grape leaves, and falafel.
If you’re feeling adventurous try the Veal brain or tongue shawarma. The brain is prepared in a light lemon sauce. The taste is reminiscent of bone marrow.
The portions are great for the price. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

Just had lunch here. Very Nice. The cook recommended fresh trout with Lebanese seasoning with rice and salad. I also ordered a combo of chicken and beef schwarma with humus and fries for dinner. I got it all covered. If you never had schwarma, it is amazing. Try it you’ll like it. Keep rocking El Rawsheh

This place reminds me of home and the «real» shawarmas I used to eat growing up! Really authentic shawarma sandwiches ($ 4!!!), garlic sauce, baba ghanoush, and kebobs. The servers are friendly and since we are regulars, they recognize our faces and always greet us really nicely. They also have a big backyard type of seating area where you can get hookah if you’d like. I’ve never tried their hookah, but this is definitely the place to try if you’re looking for authentic arabic food.
Be ready to take a slightly long walk if taking public transportation or to park on the smaller side streets if driving. Steinway gets pretty packed, but this is definitely worth the trip!

Nothing like a late night shawarma fix, get some falafel while you’re at it.
The shawarma was very tasty, a bit dry though (nothing that a bit of sauce couldn’t fix up). If you go in the later hours, I do recommend that you call in advanced that you’ll pick up and ask for a time table for when they’ll be ready with your food; they make your order on a rolling basis. I for one was there for about 15 – 20 minutes waiting.
On the plus side the falafel was fresh, cooked right there in front of me.
