Tiny, no frills breakfast and lunch deli. Take out only. It’s exactly what you want when you just want a cheap breakfast sandwich and coffee to cure a hangover.

I used to live across the street from this place back in 2006 and had never ate roast beef before. I ordered a sandwich from here called«The Knicks,» it’s hot roast beef with mozzarella, olive oil and vinegar… HOLYMOTHEROFGOD! AMAZINGTASTE! I used to order it everyday, ignoring all worries of cholesterol increase or any problems. I moved out the following year, missing that amazing sandwich… Flash forward to 2014, I biked from the East Village to this spot once again, thankfully my sammie was still an option… Am, in as usual, maybe even better! I would bike back here again for it, any time!

This is the perfect little neighborhood deli. I only ever order two things: black coffee and breakfast sandwiches, but the quality is good, the prices are fair, and the service is fast and friendly.

The best sandwiches in NYC. Period. Think of 4x the meat. Toasted and hot with all the toppings. HUGE! Sort of like 4x the size of any other sandwich The big difference is you can tell they actually care about the sandwiches they are making, My favorite: The Godfather

Let me tell you, let me tell you. This place does BANGING sandwiches. Try their chicken cutlet with cheese on whole wheat toast, or their fish sandwich. Damn just go there for the coffee, lol. Steve is great he is the owner. If you work or live near buy then go stop by. Lunch is on me, ok I lied. Just try them you wont regret it :)

I was visiting this place daily while working in the area. Their egg and cheese is awesome and for $ 2.25 I wasn’t complaining. I also had the veggie soup also left me pleasantly surprised. It always seems to be crowded in there, with crowds of Mount Sinai of Queens workers talking and giving the place a nice mom and pop vibe. The guy(owner?) is really friendly and speedy and always seems to be generally happy, which is hard to find in most places. If you’re broke and you need something quick and cheap to eat before you run off to work, give this place a go.

Love this deli! I don’t frequent Queens all that much but when I do this place is always my first stop. It’s less than a half a mile from the N/Q subway line which to me is a big perk. They are your classic, urban deli that you can find all over Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. But they rank in my top because they have excellent coffee, friendly staff and great sandwiches. In the city you can get coffee at every other doorstep in the city, but the coffee from here is definitely a cut above the rest. I would say I come in here moderately but you would think that I come in here everyday with the way the staff members remember my order(I get the same thing every time and everyone that works here ALWAYS remember how I take my coffee and sandwich). They have really tasty honey mustard(when I rate an establishment, how good their honey mustard is, is a factor) and their bread is soft yet a little crispy on the edges. Sometimes at different places the bread is stale and that definitely ruins the sandwich. If you are in the mood for a great cup of coffee and a great tasting deli sandwich, Father and Sons is the way to go.

A real neighborhood deli, friendly English speaking staff, great lunch specials everyday, always fresh coffee, and very clean.

Seems like your average deli that makes sandwiches — plain breads and unfortunately, boars head meats. It will do the job in the pinch and it is inexpensive, but don’t expect too much.

Father & Son Deli is as good as it gets!!! Not only is the coffee the absolute best in Astoria, and I say that because I have had coffee from every popular bagel shop and deli in Astoria… I’ve been born and raised in this neighborhood so it’s not one or two I’ve been to dozens… The sandwiches are incredible! The bacon egg and cheese is one of my favorites! as well as the cold cut sandwiches! The meats are always fresh out of the fridge and because it’s so busy there’s never any stale bread or bad meats! I’ve been going to this deli for many years and my husband is also a huge fan! he’s been going since before we met so it wasn’t through me… the place is always clean and the service always friendly… also their soups are homemade! literally, meaning that good old mom and wifey cooking them up and bringing them in fresh everyday… Great idea for a superbowl hero! u will love it!

It’s a cute little place and the service is fast. The coffee is always fresh and the menu is great! I can understand Steve being busy and tired but he can at least take the time to converse with new customers or be friendly to them. I have been going here for the past 2 months and I rarely hear a thank you for him. Makes me wonder if he is appreciative of us(the customers) doing business with him.

Steve and Pop has been in the neighborhood for years and they make a killing because their coffee is the best I’ve ever tasted. Freshly grounded in the morning, made to perfection(all it took was me telling Steve exactly how I like it made once and he knows whenever I step in to make me my coffee). Their breakfast pastries, bread and bagels are picked up fresh every morning at 5 am. I also love their homemade Split Pea Soup every Fridays.

I go here almost every day, and I don’t know what went wrong the day Jobi went. It’s a neighborhood deli in the old-fashioned sense. I go in and ask for coffee, and Steve makes me it the way I like without having to ask. If I ask for«a turkey sandwich» he remembers that I want it with lettuce and tomato and a light spread of mayo. Sometimes when I’m waiting at the counter for a sandwich or something, I’ll see people come in and say something like, «Roger and Bob want coffees, and me too,» and Steve will make the different coffees with the different amounts of sugar and stuff without asking. I don’t know how he remembers it all! People kind of hang around there sometimes and I see the same people in there a lot. I think a lot of them work at the hospital across the street, but it still gives the place a neighborhood appeal. The sandwiches have always been good, in my experience, and I’ve had dozens, maybe hundreds. Fresh bread, meat is fine. Steve just installed a grill to make hamburgers and stuff, and a fryer to make fries and stuff. I like the chicken fingers a lot, enough to order it more often if it weren’t so unhealthy, but haven’t tried anything else on that menu. The downside to the place is kind of the same as the upside. If you’re not a regular, you might feel a little out of place. But you will still be accepted as a regular soon enough, and it’s not like Steve would ignore you or something. The other downside is that it closes at 5.

Got a hero from here once and only once. They had no meat selection and old bread. Pretty terrible.
