This place is even lucky to get one star. Worst service I ever experienced in my life. It took over an hour and a half to get 1 pie of pizza and it came cold. Every time we called to ask where the order was they lied to us, hung up on us, and got nasty with us and when we said we would not pay for it because it took so long the guy on the phone said he’d have to delivery guy not give it to us. Absolutely disgusting. Most places apologize and try to satisfy the customer but not here. My family has been loyal customers of this place since they opened 51 years ago in 1965 but not anymore.

The pizza is not good and the guys don’t pay attention when they take orders. They screwed up my order and threw my pizza in the oven with an attitude when I asked them to make it hot but not burnt

This is the best place for pizza slices in Astoria. I like the the pepperoni slices in particular. I’ve heard the garlic knots are good, too. It’s a very no-nonsense, quiet, clean, friendly neighborhood pizzeria. Never a line greater than two people, but always four or five busy staff members making pizzas. So they must do a lot of delivery and take out(or catering) as well. This is not going to compare to Joe’s Pizza or Prince Street Pizza in Manhattan, so don’t go out of your way to come here. But like I said, if you’re in Astoria, this place is it!

I’ve ordered a couple times from them thru the grab hub app. They have been the most consistent as far as good food, with quick and courteous delivery. However, the garlic knots are a little hard and so is their pizza crust — seems like it is not baked correctly.

Ordered a pie of pizza and it looked like a pizza for a Kindergarden Class of 6 children. Definetly not worth $ 14 and the pizza came cold when I received my delivery. Never again!

This is one of my favorite pizzerias in Astoria/Long Island City area. Their menu is quite extensive for a small, family-friendly establishment. I had the eggplant parmigiana one day, and the eggplant with baked ziti on another. Both were very delicious. The prices for the entrees were on par for the neighborhood. You definitely get your money’s worth and then some.

Had pizza here since I was a kid. The pizza was never consistent but it was always similar. This has changed for the past few months. The quality will greatly differ depending on who actually makes the pie or creating the rest of your order. For example, if you order a chicken slice you might get chicken breast or chicken cutlet depending on who prepares your order. It is very frustrating because I do not know who prepares the food properly. I decided to call and complain after receiving questionable pizza just now. I was told, «made 42 pies since morning and it just came out of the oven.» I recognized the voice and regretted my order when he took it. He even makes the ordering process more difficult. I will avoid from now on.

Normally I would give this place 4 stars, but my experience today sucked. Stopped to grab a few slices for my husband and I just now. I ordered a slice of Sicilian, buffalo chicken, plain and a pepperoni bite to go. Came out to $ 9.75. There was only one other person there who came in after me and her food came out before mine. Strange, but ok no big deal. I thought at one point they forgot about me because it took longer than usual to heat this up. The slices were put in a paper bag instead of a box which I thought was weird but again ok. Fast forward 10 minutes after walking home I find I didn’t get the Sicilian slice I paid for and the buffalo slice was laid on top of the plain slice. The cheese from the plain slice was stuck to the bottom of the buffalo chicken and ruined the plain slice. I am so annoyed about this. $ 9.75 for a pretty shitty lunch and my husband now has to go back out to get food for himself since the plain slice was his and ruined and he didn’t get the Sicilian slice he wanted.

Service people at counter are nice but I just took home a chicken roll that is undercooked dough, raw tasting sauce and looks like it has been reheated 100 times! Threw it out. Yuck

This place has a pretty big selection of individual slices. The two pizza slices I got were bacon with pepperoni and a plain slice. Both slices were okay not terrible. But I also went before closing so maybe the pizza slices weren’t as fresh. The three stars are only based on the two slices I had.

Delicious pepperoni and bacon pizza. Warm and friendly service. A wonderful spot to stop and grab a slice. Their garlic knots were outstanding!

The pizza place around the corner from my apartment closes before my late night munchie craving kicks in, so around 11:30 on a random weeknight I headed over to Grand Avenue pizza for a slice and garlic bread knots. The guys were super nice and the pizza was delicious, but I’m adding on an extra star for these two reasons: 1) They made sure I used the spices /parmesan cheese before they wrapped up my pizza to go. Pizza slice places hardly ever bother to ask, they just put it in the bag, I have to take it out, put the spices on myself and hold up counter space. These guys offered me spices as the pizza came out of the oven! It’s the little things. 2) A very, very sketchy man was standing by the window, STARING at me. He wasn’t paying attention to anyone else walking in and out of the pizza place, but the man would not go away. One of the employees walked outside and asked him if he was coming in or not and shooed him away, but the man returned, and kept making strange faces at me. I was legit nervous to leave. I waited around in the restaurant for a few minutes(hungry with pizza + garlic knots in hand) to make sure the guy left(for the second time) for good, and the employees made sure I left safe when he was far away. The last thing I needed was someone to try and follow me home at 11:30PM! Thanks, guys. I’ll be back soon. Hopefully the guy in the window won’t be though. :)

Really friendly and affordable, BBQ chicken pizza(and most others) available by the slice and to die for. Open late.

One of their pizza delivery men is using my stolen bike. I brought the police report and pictures but this isn’t enough for the manager or delivery man to believe me. The manager won’t even provide me with his name nor will he provide me with contact information for the owners of the business. The police won’t help, which leaves me left with Unilocal as the conduit that I have left to voice my issue. Please don’t patronize this establishment and keep your bikes locked up with multiple locks around them!

Their hawaiian pizza is the best. (If you are looking for a midnight pizza place around 30av then you found it) Pizzas are good here. That’s all I can say. Can’t wait to go back!

Waited over and hour to get a pizza delivered. The delivery guy first could not find our building so he just turned back. No phone call nothing. Pizza tasted decent but was cold. The house salad was more like a salad dressing soup.

Scalding Pizza Overall: 3.25 Stars Grand Avenue Pizza is exactly what you expect out of your local pizzeria, it isn’t high quality, but it isn’t low quality either. Standard prices, taste, décor, clientele, etc. The two pluses for me personally were the table service and the scalding hot pizza. It is uncommon for a local pizzeria to bring your pizza to the table. It was a welcome change. Although I believe the pizzeria was a bit overstaffed for the lunch hour in my opinion. I don’t believe a pizzeria needs 3 – 5 people standing behind the counter/back area. Most people do not enjoy their pizza scalding hot(just hot), but in this case I received my white slice burning hotter than a jalapeño. It was fine for me(nearly burned the roof of my mouth), but at least I know it will stay warm the entire time I eat the slice. Just tell them that you don’t want the slice to be too hot when they put it in the oven. The beef patty tasted good, but it fell apart as I was eating it. As I stated earlier, Grand Avenue Pizza is similar to all local pizzerias, except with a little more added service and scalding hot pizza.

First time trying and I’ll be re-buying! Great for late night delivery. Delivered hot and didn’t take too long. Had garlic knots(very oily and garlicky yum), Penne Vodka slice(great thickness in crust and penne to crust ratio. It was easy to eat with no fork and knife and wasn’t messy!!!) and had a white slice which was really tasty! Overall really good and love the delivery :)

Meh. Came here for lunch and got a mozzarella slice. The mozzarella was tasteless, the sauce was bland, the crust was so-so. At $ 3.50/slice it was very overpriced.
