Thank to Unilocal for steering me in the right direction. Looking for a place to fix my watch and found this little gem. Inexpensive, quality work. Highly recommend

Good, honest, and self-working gentleman works here… fixed 3 of my watches and works while you are there. No gimmicks no nothing. Doesnt charge crazy prices. Worked with me for finding a new strap for my watch and even order from the factory for you and installs in-person. If you need any watch work done, this guy/place is your go-to in Astoria.

Been coming here for a while now, and I started coming here based on Unilocal reviews so I figured I’d add mine. He’s done everything from changing batteries, fixing watch bands and watches that wouldn’t keep proper time. Convenient, fast and cash only. Check it out.

I actually chose this place because of the Unilocal reviews. It is a small shop run by one man who has been doing this for years. I brought in 2 gold rings to be resized down and he did a beautiful job. I can’t even tell where he resized it the rings are flawless. He charged a reasonable price of $ 25 per ring. It took a week to get them back but they were done to a high quality — any place that will resize a ring while you wait can not take the time to do a high quality job — Great place — honest

Been going to him for years. Marcel is the best; he really knows his stuff and he’s a nice guy.

Marcel does excellent work at a reasonable price. He’s repaired a couple of my watches including bringing my grandfather’s pocket watch from the late 1800’s back to life! Like the previous reviewer said, he tells it to you straight and he doesn’t play games. Highly recommended!

When looking for a place that fixes watches, you look for honesty and reasonable pricing. Grand Jewelry Shop on 30th Ave makes you feel welcome and secured that your in the right place. The shop is a one man operation with bullet proof panels inside. Kind of weird, but OK. The guy opens a small door along the panels and you slide your watch for inspection. He expertly opens the watch and starts to work. Within a minute or two he tells you what has to be done, when to pick it up and a price for the work. What not to like. Cash only and be prepared to leave a deposit. I was charged $ 43.75 for a cleaning, a new glass lid, a battery, tax and labor. I feel that this was a fair price for this kind of work. If you live in Astoria and need work done on a watch, Grand Jewelry Shop is the place to go.

Brought my gf’s watch in to get repaired. Place is pretty tiny and only one guy works there(Marcel). Marcel is a true professional, working at this same spot for over 30 years and on top of it, he’s fast. Although he isn’t the type of dude to blow sunshine up your ass, he’s a standup guy and will tell it to you straight. Doesn’t have the best store hours(10−4÷5 I think) but the man does quality work. If I’m ever in need of some watch or jewelry work, I’ll definitely be stopping in again. The NY Times also did a piece on him not to long ago, it’s a good read:
