Pizza was very cold and dry. The pizza seemed to be stale and is not worth anyones money. I will never go back to this place.

Don’t order from the cranky guy who is working the lunch shift. Sadly, I must admit this place has lost its shine. I have been ordering from La Vita Mia religiously for the past 12 years. Yesterday, I ordered on Seamless, and a half hour later, received a call saying my order had been canceled. The operator from Seamless said that unfortunately, the man on the phone at La Vita Mia was refusing to make my order. The Seamless operator then said, «and I have to suggest that maybe you never order from there again – that guy has some serious issues.» I then called La Vita Mia to see what was the problem, and was met with an angry man, full of rage. He said, «you ordered four toppings but only paid for two, so I canceled your order. The guy at Seamless offered to charge you more, but it was too late… I said forget it.» The La Vita Mia pizza screen on Seamless breaks down the toppings into two halves. The sections say, «1st Half, two toppings,» and«2nd Half, two toppings.» I think I have ordered from every pizzeria in the Astoria area, and most don’t offer the split toppings. La Vita Mia’s page practically suggests ordering that way. So I ordered two different halves of two toppings each… which is something I have always done, because the screen suggests it. When I kindly asked the man, «So, could you just charge me whatever you think is right, even though I am only ordering one whole pizza’s worth of two toppings? It’s what I always order.» He yelled into the phone, and said, «No, No, NO!!! I have never seen your address, and you have never ordered from me before.» I simply hung up. As the phone call to cancel came a half hour after I had ordered, I had no time left to order elsewhere before work. I have never been treated so poorly, especially from a place I have patronized religiously and recommended to so many friends. Truly a disappointing experience that lost my business forever.

Overpriced stale pizza. $ 4 for a slice when an entire pie is only $ 14? You’ve got to be kidding me. Save yourself the trouble and make a frozen pizza at home or go into Manhattan for a cheaper, fresher slice. Chicken cutlet, which should always be at least decent at a pizza place was also thin and stale. The cleanliness rating went from a C to a B which is just too kind. Their one saving grace is that there is no other competition in the area.

Place was decent but it was purchased by a new owner during the last year and hasn’t been the same. Pizza changed and workers changed. If you are in a real jam, stop in for a basic slice otherwise I don’t see how you can compare this place to the long-list of better options in the area(checkout near the Ditmars train Stop, there are 3 – 4 pizza joints alone). The health grade from the city changes like the stock market. It was pegged at a C for long time. Now its a B. Way back I remember it as an A.

Been coming here for years. Whether delivery or pickup or eat-in, this is a great pizza shop. Their service is excellent and always courteous and quick. Try their grandma pies! So good!

The pizza was very good, the service was fast and friendly. The parking is tough but most of Astoria is so don’t hold that against them.

I placed an order on Seamless from here about an hour before they were due to close tonight. About 45 minutes later, when I should have been enjoying my pizza already, I received a call from Seamless that said the restaurant still hadn’t confirmed my order. Of course, there was already a charge on my bank account for the order. Yet, no pizza! As an employee in the restaurant industry, I understand the urge to close early on a slow night. But, if you’re going to close early, turn off your online ordering so people aren’t charged and then left to fend for themselves at the corner bodega!

Admittedly not in the most convenience place, it’s around the corner from the Bohemia Beer Garden, and in between the last two stops of the NQ in Astoria. They have this slice, which I haven’t seen my last few times, that’s to die for. It’s something like a traditional buffalo chicken slice with dressing with bacon and sausage on it too, to create an incredibly hearty slice. Their standard buffalo chicken with dressing is a very solid slice. Always hit the spot.

Literally the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The called me a liar when I expressed that I hadn’t received my pizza. I waited for over an hour and I got so frustrated I wind up picking it up. They we’re flat out rude. Please do yourself a favor and DON’T ORDERFROMTHEM!!!

I had the worst experience! The worst customer service! An hour after they failed to deliver my pizza I had to walk down and pick it up. The man behind the counter proceeded to argue with me about why it was never delivered. Never received an apology. Offered no comp, but was expected to take the cold pizza and leave. It was a struggle getting them to reheat it! Do not give these rude people your business! I have never experienced customer service this bad.

Don’t try to order from them online. They’ll hold your order for 15 minutes before having«technical problems» and then canceling your order. If your lucky they’ll call you, otherwise you’ll need to call them for a snarky explanation.

I was craving deep dish pizza in a city that loves their thin crust however, I was not going to be deterred. After a quick Google search for deep dish pizza that deliverd in my area, I placed an order and waited patiently for an hour. Once I received my pizza, I knew the order was amiss by the large shaped box and no receipt was attached to it. When I opened the box on my kitchen table, I was disappointed to see the usual pizza. No deep dish at all. After eating two slices, I still disappointed as it lacked any type of flavor. But again, I should leave the deep dish to the professionals — Chicago.

Since the previous owner sold his biz in recent year, this place became total disaster zone on my take out map. Food stinks, the new owner’s attitude sux, and all the cheesy signs make the place look like third world country dump. Where did all good pizza go??? I gave a shot, tried again recently which was so painful… i just can’t stand this place anymore! I miss old days. Rest in peace Mia.

Just ordered a buffalo chicken pizza close to closing time and it arrived within a half hour boiling hot and looks FRESH! Fabulous pizza, perfectly cooked crust, and the sauce does NOT taste like it’s 9 days old!

So I stopped in for a late lunch, for those of you that may know me you know that I love pizza and I take my pizza very seriously! For those of you that don’t…I love pizza and I take my pizza very serious! Had it not been for the condiments on my pizza, I could have sworn I was eating mushy cardboard! Yep… THAT bad! They have the crust part down ok, thin yet hearty and crispy. But the ingredients they use in making/preparing the sauce and toppings are very low in quality and taste which yields a very bland and bad slice of pizza. I’ve experienced this symptom before and it’s definitely from the use of low quality ingredients in the pizza! Don’t stop in for a slice, even if your jonesing for a slice and your walking/driving by… keep going! Your better off going for a mainstream pizza like Papa John’s or Pizza Hut!!! Bottom line, this pizza is not good and there is no perceived effort put into both the establishment or it’s product/services so don’t even bother… not worth your effort(or money) either!

Hoping this would be «our» pizza place. The crust was a little crispy. This in of itself was the reason we placed orders 2x from La Vita Mia. Unfortunately, the crust was not enough to be saving grace because main part of the pie was so bland. What’s worse was that the service was not friendly. I would kindly suggest they improve service and add some seasoning or salt to their pizza.

Good pizza is hard to find in Astoria. I can even go so far as to say good pizza is hard to find in NYC. In a city known for their slices, the low barriers to entry and sustainable profit margin means lots of spots claiming they serve the best pizza in town. Pizza wise, Astoria is known for Rizzo’s and Sac’s, but there is one lesser known place that I can stand behind as having the best pizza in Astoria: La Vita Mia. A bit off the beaten path on 24th Avenue and 28th Street, I happened upon La Vita Mia walking back from Astoria Park one day, and have been hooked ever since. Rizzo’s is known for their Sicilian-esque, saucy slices, and recently expanded from their Astoria outpost to the Upper East Side, a big feat for any Astoria establishment. Thin crust, and brick oven baked define Sac’s pizza. But for those out there who crave a true New York slice, La Vita Mia is it. La Vita Mia nails the perfect pie — the ingredients are fresh, toppings plentiful, and the crust is fluffy with just the right amount of crunch. Not being a huge crust eater, I find myself nibbling on La Vita Mia’s without even noticing. My favorite pizza pie at La Vita Mia is my own concoction — a white pie with sausage. I’ve had this pie at other places to compare, but nowhere else makes it as delicious as La Vita Mia. Top it with Frank’s hot sauce,(and they only have Frank’s, as the owner asserted one day) and you’re set.

This was pretty much the first NY pizza I had after moving to NY from CA and HATING pizza all my life. Dominos and pizza hut are good, but they don’t compare to NY pizza. And I have had a hard time finding a lot of pizza that compares to La Vita Mia. I live for their La Vita Mia salad, FILLED with chicken, mozzarella, peppers, and tomatoes. I honestly don’t know what I would do if anything were to ever happen to this joint. Granted, it’s expensive(what, about 10, 11 bucks for a large?) but it can easily make 2 meals, and this girl can EAT. If you ever feel like it, do yourself a favor and make your own pizza. Our favorite is the jalapeño(they put fresh jalapenos), breaded chicken, and whole wheat crust. Also, I am definitely going to try their Gyros one of these days… they look amazing!
