Lifestyle Mixed Martial Arts Academy

Fantastic Jiu Jitsu school! When deciding to pursue BJJ I sampled a number of schools throughout New York City and could never find the right mix of atmosphere and support. Lifestyle MMA is that school. It provides an incredibly welcoming and warm environment for beginners that really makes you want to come back and progress. The head Professor, Fabricio, is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain not only how to execute the moves, but the science behind why they are applicable in each situation. Cannot recommend this place enough.

I ran into this Jiu Jitsu Academy almost 3 years ago, and I have followed them ever since. I did not join for myself, I joined because of my daughter. I brought my 7 year old little girl here to learn about self defense and anti bullying. As a parent we can only do so much for them when we are with them, but when they are out of our sight, I can only hope that I did the right thing by teaching her well. The best gift I could give my child was a lifetime of learning from the Professor there, Fabricio. He took my then 7 year old child and molded her into a smart and confident little athlete. The discipline needed to be good at this sport has poured over into her school work. She is a top performer in her school and a major part of her success in school is because of her Jiu Jitsu training. She is successful because she has learned so much from Fabricio and she knows a lot about pressure and how to handle it. She is forever learning and because of this place, she will always have a home base to return to for assurances on her decisions in life. I can say that because of this place, LIFESTYLE MMA has changed my entire families way of life. It has improved our lifestyle as a family.

Such a great place to train. The professor and student make the environment great for beginners and high level practitioners. The new facility is exceptional and provides conditioning training also for those who want it.

A friend of mine told me about Lifestyle MMA. He said the teacher really puts in as much time with experts as he does beginners. So, I went to see for myself. I saw that the guys that train were all friendly, welcoming. As I’m sitting on the bench watching, Professor Fabricio Medici comes over and throws me a Gi. I was shocked. I wasn’t expecting to train. I was treated like family. It was a fundamentals class and man, did I learn alot. I signed up on the spot and haven’t looked back. I grew up playing basketball and never have had another workout that compared, until now. Glad to be part of the Lifestyle, BJJ.

Classes for men, women and children, great localization (by the N, Q, M and R trains, and one station away from Queensboro Plaza. Real martial arts environment, and at the same time, very friendly and fun! The master Is brazilian, very respected black belt and a referee at the official events of the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Confederation. Classes from monday to saturday, morning, afternoon and night. Everybody is very friendly, and the impression is that you become part of a family! Gotta check it out!

Professor Fabricio Medici is without a doubt one of the finest instructors in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Over the years I have trained at various other schools and usually there is always something that students complain about — that is NOT the case with Fabricio. Every student I have ever met who trained with him and every person in the BJJ community who knows him has nothing but great things to say about him as a person and his teaching style. Each student is graded on how they progress in BJJ and they aren’t compared to the progression of other students all while learning the proper way to execute each technique in an environment that makes you want to come back the next class and push yourself even harder. Upon entering the school you are always greeted with a smile and made to feel 100% at home. While training at Lifestyle I have met many students who were always willing to help out while leaving their ego at the door. I highly recommend going there to train (it’s also VERY convenient to get to)
