I have a new favorite Chicken Rice cart in Astoria along with the famous King of Falafel on Broadway(Astoria). This place is Indian style chicken rice. Rice is very flavorful basmati rice. Chicken is more like tandoori chicken sauteed with onion and pepper. It’s only $ 5, but he gives you a lot of food. I hope the guy uses a tong to put salad instead of a hand. Try it and you’ll like it. It’s right under the 30th Ave. station on NE corner in front of the fish market.

I eat at a lot of halal carts in New York City, Mim is one of the very best. Great portion size, fresh ingredients, incredibly kind service(you don’t have to go that often and they’ll remember you) and unbeatable hours(a la, I’ve never seen them closed… even at 4AM). I almost always stick with chicken or lamb over rice, but their hot sausages are up there too.

I’ve been going here for a few years now. Super nice guys and quite good quality. Out of all the halal carts in Astoria this one is the best in my opinion. Compare it to the one at 38St/30Ave and you’ll see what I mean. You’ll definitely meet some characters here late-night but that’s all part of the fun. The hot sauce is killer. Be careful!

OMG! I always see a line at this cart and decided to try it because for once it was short. What a great meal, Lamb over rice with salad… all for $ 4.99. I don’t do cart/vendor food but I will be stopping here again!
