Twirlz Yogurt Bar

I’m not a froyo type of dude. If I want a cold treat, I want something with ice cream — extra fudge, extra caramel and extra peanut butter products. Howwwwwwever, since I’m dating someone who prefers froyo at times, you have to meet in the middle sometimes. Twirlz is pretty legit in my book. Friendly service, cheap prices and a easy walk from my apartment. Usually they have vanilla, chocolate and rotating flavor (which was peanut butter once). I keep it simple and go with two scoops and some type of topping, usually pieces of peanut butter cup or Reese’s pieces and I’m always a happy camper with it.
FYI — In case I haven’t made it explicitly clear in this review, I like peanut butter. That is all.

A decent place. They have regular, peach, strawberry yogurt. We tried all three and strawberry seems to be my favorite. The peach somehow leaves an aftertaste. Each topping is extra. Walnut & strawberries with strawberry yogurt definitely goes well together. They now have a promotion for buy 1 get one free on Wednesdays. That’s definitely worth it. Other than that, nothing special about this place. The store front is cute with outside seating, but it’s not a place that would make me want to commute from Manhattan to Astoria.

The place was eh. Tiny, kinda of dim, kinda bland. Very slim pickings and the Vanilla Yogurt was way to sweet. If i wanted ice cream, I would have walked up two more blocks and went to Baskin Robbins. Needs tart flavors.
Kinda pricey for what it is.

Tried this place for the first time. It was pretty good. Not the best yogurt I had. I thought it was too sweet. I tried their peanut butter flavor. I didn’t know it was their flavor of the week. It tasted more like ice cream. I love anything peanut butter but after I was done, I think I’m good with peanut butter for the immediate future. I’ll return to try the other flavors but not rushing to get back.

This place is very cute. TOO CUTE! So cute that a shmuck like myself feels awkward.
The product was good but I’ve had better frozen yogurt. OFTEN. The topping selection was great. To my dismay the young man at the counter gave me a thousand gummies and like two strawberries. All the gummies ended up falling off before I got to the end of the block but of course that’s because I’m a failure and in no way was it the young man’s fault, but it would’ve been nice to drop a few strawberries also.
I give two stars because I don’t regret going, but will never go again.

Finally frozen yogurt in my hood the way I like it. Not tart, but sweet and creamy. I always opt for the chocolate and took a pint home with me on my last visit. The chocolate is so rich in flavor!
I’m thankful for the seating outside as it’s nice to be able to chill on a hot day with a heaping cup of fro-​yo.
After meeting the owner I think I’ve made some headway in getting them to deliver. Keep your fingers crossed friends, as a delivery option would be enough to get me to update this review to five stars. This would also stomp the Coldstone competition– who does offer delivery for the truly lazy (me).

Yo is really great & tasty, perfect in summer. Love that they have a few fravor choices and so many topping choices. I also like what they did to the place, uplifting and kids friendly.
The only thing I’d ask is to clean up the table /​chair after customers left, last two times tables were really nasty and casher was standing right in front and didn’t seem to care.

I love frozen yogurt so, so much. The chocolate was amazingly delicious and brownie bites? Thank you Jesus. Vanilla was too sweet. They sell their fro yo by the quart. Let’s talk.

I remember I tried this place in about march or april of this year. I was craving fro-​yo (frozen yogurt) and someone mentioned this place. Thier directions were a bit off, so it took a little searching, but when i found it YUM. The sizes they have and the prices are great. Probably one of the best fro-​yo i have ever had, definitly in my top TWO. yummmm.

Worst frozen yogurt I’ve ever had. Fat free or not Frozen yogurt is supposed to have some kind of taste, the ones here taste like nothing. And I’d be willing to look past the bland flavorlessness of the yogurt if they included good toppings. The toppings were room temperature warm which actually made the whole thing taste worse. All of this is also overpriced for what they give you.
There’s a Red Mango off of Steinway if you’re in the area and craving frozen yogurt, go there instead.

I will NEVER step foot in this place EVER again. Do not be fooled by the cuteness of this place!
When I came here for my frozen yogurt fix, I thought I would get it… and I didn’t. First of all, the frozen yogurt was spilling/​melting outside of the small cup. I asked for three toppings, strawberries, chocolate chips, and caramel.
They have limited flavors so I ordered a small vanilla. The female behind the counter was not able to get the caramel out of the plastic bottle. She was banging the bottle on the counter to get the caramel out. She failed… hard. So she put the caramel in the microwave to it can soften up. Still, she couldn’t get it out this time because there was crust on the dispenser part of the bottle. The strawberries were then placed on top of the frozen yogurt and they were falling off. I was close to telling the female «never mind» and just walk out but I stayed. I thought «hmmm maybe she will see what a disaster this looks and start from the beginning». Nope. She continued. The girl behind the counter figured out that the chocolate chips wouldn’t fit in or on the frozen yogurt so she packed it separately for me. If I really wanted my chocolate chips on the side, I wouldn’t order them in the first place. She served my small cup frozen yogurt on a paper saucer plate because the yogurt, at that point started to melt. She didn’t apologize for the messiness and I should have told her something but at that point, I wanted to get the hell out of there.
In the end, this disaster cost me six and change… it was too messy for me to eat it. I took 3 or 4 bites and I tossed it out.
This was my first experience and my last.

Twirlz has only been open for a few weeks, and I kept meaning to go in. Finally got in tonight, and it was really great. It’s just simple frozen yogurt with a bunch of toppings. I got a half chocolate, half vanilla mix with Heath bar, and it totally hit the spot. My girlfriend got chocolate with banana, and the dude behind the counter went to a great deal of trouble to get the banana (which he sliced in front of us, BTW) evenly spread out in the yogurt. Well done.
Well worth a stop if you’re nearby.

YAY! So happy Twirlz is on Unilocal so I can continue telling everyone how awesome it is! I LOVE frozen yogurt and have had all kinds, Twirlz has hands down the best froyo EVER. Every flavor is DELICIOUS. The peanut butter is the best by a landslide, I can’t wait for it to come back! They have Chocolate, Vanilla, Choc-​Vanilla Swirl, Strawberry, & Flavor of the Week. I have been in Twirlz at least once a week since they opened and tried just about every flavor (I guess this makes me a total Twirlz addict).
The staff is SO nice & I am ridiculously thrilled that they have rainbow sprinkles (as not all frozen yogurt places have). They bought the building next door: they’re opening brick oven pizza place next door. If the pizza’s as good as the yogurt (which I’m sure it will be!) I will need to be running some extra laps at the track!
