Variety discounts

It’s hard to recall all the times this store came through for me.
Most of my trips to Shanaz Variety Discount start with the thought, «I wonder if they carry [fill in the blank]. I need it asap!» And without fail, every single time this store has indeed carried whatever it was.
Some examples off the top of my head:
— binder clips, right before I had to deliver a thick pad of documents
— padlock
— soil, when my plant needed more soil
— drain filter
— drain snake, when I needed to unclog a drain
— metal hooks
— rubber gloves
— key copying
— shovel, to dig my car out of the snow
— cheap Casio analog watch! Sought and found the day before taking a standardized test
Although very unassuming on the outside, just about anything you’d ever need related to housewares seems to be here. Or even not that related. Who needs Wal-​mart when you have Shanaz in the neighborhood?

Just discovered this place, so my rating may change based on future visits.
Was glad to find a very large selection of kitchenware and cookery here, at low prices. All looked of very good quality. Have only made 1 – 2 purchases, but will be shopping here for some pots and pans soon. Since I’m new to the store, I will be saving receipts, carefully evaluating what I buy, returning what is unsatisfactory, and reporting back here how it all turns out.
I didn’t get to see the whole store, but this does not appear to be the kind of crappy 99-​cent store with balloons, cheap make-​up products and hair doodles, 20-​year-​old dusty greeting cards and other junk. Instead, it is jammed packed with what looks like useful, quality merchandise. The categories I selected when I submitted this business are based on those on the store’s business card (see photos).
You may have discovered this review based on my write-​up of King Penny a block or two west. KP can’t touch this place for selection and quality. I will continue to poke my head in KP to compare deals, but I will be shopping at Shanaz first.
