Always had my reservations about getting food from carts and trucks but I do love these waffles. They’re cooked to a golden brown and since the batter is already sweetened you don’t even need top it with syrup, nuts, cream, fruit, etc. you can just eat them plain!

So here is the thing. I went to the brick and mortar Wafels & Dinges before eating from the truck. I’m well aware the truck was around for a while and that is how they got their start but yeah I prefer the store. I checked in here but this is actually for the MetroTech location. They come every thursday. I’ve tried the food from it 3 times and each time my wafel was lukewarm, not fresh and the ingredients were a mix of the same. At the restaurant everything was hot, fresh and made to order depending on what you got. I should mention all three orders I got were hot savory food items. I think the dessert items are your better choice at the truck.

I had to force my roommate to stop so we could get a waffle! She didn’t understand the hype«it’s just a waffle»…then she tasted it. Now she invites me to get one all the time! These waffles and dinges are so delicious. And let me not start talking about my favorite thing: speculous! Mmmmmmm maybe I should get one today.

Since listings for their trucks ran rampant and folks were too lazy/unaware to append the truck names and common locations to them, I’ll say that their outposts near Stern and atop Union Square Park were both efficient and friendly.

So I wanted to see what all the hype was about and finally came around to try a waffle. And to my disappointment the waffles weren’t even that great. I was like this is what everyone is saying is so amazing ?!? I had it with my bf and he said the same thing also. The waffles had no taste whatsoever if it wasn’t for the whip cream I wouldn’t have even ate it. Never wasting my money here again.

#foodiechats Save room for dessert and stop by this food truck. You know you are close to it from a mile away, because it smells so delicious and intoxicating. The waffles are yummy! «Crispy & crunchy» meets«melts in your mouth». This food truck is not to be missed.

Certainly the best thing I’ve eaten off a truck, EVAR. I ordered two of the throwdown waffles. They were unlike any waffles I’ve ever had with the perfect amount of crunch, pull, and chew. The spekuloos spread was gorgeous, I can’t wait to order the same thing in the fall. If you’re looking for a solid dessert for relatively cheap in the city you won’t go wrong with these guys.

Waffles and Dinges has won a Vendy award. And they beat Bobby Flay in the Throw Down. I wonder if Bobby Flay knows people watch to see him lose! Here are some food blogs about it and this one has a cute quote. «Just a girl trying to find some peace of mind… and maybe a piece of cake.» Waffles and Dinges was on vendrTv. www.youtube.com/user/wafelsanddinges It was on TLC best food ever. It has been on countless TV shows. There are 2 kinds of waffles the light and crispy«Brussels» or the soft and chewy«Liège,» I had the light and crispy one. The Liège Waffle. What makes them different is the dough. It’s made with a wheat-based yeast sweetened dough with pearl sugar, a sugar unique to Belgium that melts within. The pearls burst and caramelize when the dough hits the waffle iron, resulting in a dense, sugary waffle that’s rich in flavor. It may be the best waffle I have ever had! It was incredibly light and soft yet crispy. It has a quality like cotton candy! It is parked right around the corner of where I get my massage and it seemed to be there all day and late into the night. I have been by the area at different times and it is there. I love it! I can’t eat too heavily so this is just right for me. The Strawberries are fresh as well! No goo just fresh strawberries! If you read my reviews you know I hate that fake sugary goo! No sugary goo yay! They post weekly specials on their web site. www.wafelsanddinges.com/ Here is the menu from menupages.

My third trip to a waffle truck. This one I went out of my way for so my Sunday out with my husband would start on the right bite. We went from Jackson heights out to the end of the Q in Astoria just to find you! My treat was, once again, well worth it! Thank you for the high quality eats!

I typed«wafels and dinges» into the Unilocal toolbar to write my review and immediately began craving one. Do yourself a favor– if you see this truck, GET A WAFFLE. I haven’t tried their savory stuff as I don’t eat pork and I believe waffles are meant to be sweet, but their sweet stuff is really something else. I decided to go half and half: half strawberries/Nutella/fudge/whip cream and half being the Throwdown Wafel(that this truck won against Bobby Flay in those throw downs on the Food Network). Its spekuloos spread(tastes kinda like Biscoff graham cracker spread) and whip cream. Both absolutely hit the spot. It was a reasonable price too– 5⁄6 bucks for the waffle itself and for $ 2 more, unlimited dinges(toppings)!!! So for seven bucks, my mouth was in heaven for about ten minutes. Next time ill be sure to give the spekuloos ice cream a shot!

Waffles and Dingis? Dinjis? How on earth to you pronounce Dinges? And that was how I approached this truck. The guys are the truck were friendly, informative, and funny. I was so full but was able to take a bite of a mini wafelini with spekuloos and strawberries. Spekuloos taste like graham cracker peanut butter, but there’s no peanut butter. While it’s their favorite spread, I probably would have preferred the chocolate fudge or whipped cream. I love gourmet food trucks! I want to try the savory wafels next time!

Oh my my my! So I have only eaten from this truck once. Today, in fact. I had the spicy pulled pork wafel. It came with coleslaw and a side of deliciousness! I It took about 5 – 7 mins, but it was worth the wait. The wafel was very light. Only slightly sweet and very fluffy. Not thick, not chewy, just right. The pork was good. Not exceptionally amazing, but it was meaty and flavorful and very BBQ-y. It was pre-made meat and in a container that they nuked up and put atop my wafel, but what do you expect – it’s a food truck. Not complaining though. I enjoyed it. A lot! The spicy wasn’t spicy at all, just good sweet BBQ. So try it. Lots of options. Sweet or savory. Very good spot. I will be going again. Cost: $ 8.50. On Wednesdays it is located off of Wall Street – that’s the one I go to :)

This place is SOOOGOOD! I loved it! I’ve always heard people talking about it and mentioning that every waffle lover had to try it, but when I tried to taste one during the Christmas markets season, the lines made it impossible to get one. I was coming home late one night after a Nets game when I saw this truck parked out in front of the Broadway stop in Astoria. I didn’t have anything to eat at the Barclays Center because the food was so expensive, but I didn’t have dinner so I decided to have a try. There were a couple other people in line at around 9PM on a Sunday evening, which says a lot about a waffle truck. The descriptions for the waffles were pretty entertaining and I got a kick out of just how suave the whole enterprise seemed. Had a little trouble understanding the menu at first(I saw that it said Dinges for $ 1 and got super excited because I thought it meant that a waffle was only a buck). I really was starving for dinner so I wanted to order a BBQ Pork Waffle, but I thought I would go the safer route since I never had it before. I went for one of their specials, the El Churro Waffle, and I was not disappointed! I had it put in a to-go box and I brought around the corner to my apartment to eat. It isn’t very big, but the flavors were wonderful. It was topped with dulce de leche, brown cinammon sugar, and some powdered sugar. The waffle itself was very soft yet firm, so it still had a nice crunch to it, but it didn’t shatter and get the powdered sugar everywhere. All in all, I think it’s a pretty good deal, though for $ 6 I think it could have been bigger. But hey, it’s NYC, I guess that should be a standard.

The best part of a Sunday morning is when I check Twitter to confirm my wafel truck will be on Ditmars. I then leap to the door and take a walk over to the strip to see that golden truck on the horizon. Am I painting a lovely picture here? Well it only gets better from there. You can start to smell the fresh wafels being made as you approach them to find at least two very friendly wafel people who give you the most delicious treat to ever come out of a paper tray. Any combo is great, our faves are anything with dulce de leche or spekulos spread which tastes like gingerbread heaven. I haven’t gotten past the liege wafel, because well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Their specials never disappoint so don’t be scared to try them! I usually then hit up Starbucks which is right where they park like they are there especially for me! Thanks, wafel people… We love you!

Hub loves the W&D truck! He insisted that I try one when the truck stopped by in the city. We shared the de throwdown wafel known as the legendary wafel(choice of brussels or liege wafel) with spekuloos spread, whipped cream, & powder sugar that beat Bobby Flay. Yum! I know why they won the throw down! Not sure what the spekuloos condiment contains but I’ll take a stab at its secret ingredients. My guess would be along the lines of gingerbread & caramel sauce with a peanut butter texture. My brother had the liege wafel with nutella and walnuts. The liege is the true Belgian wafel, no wonder my husband insisted that I get the liege over the brussels wafel. The first dinges(topping) is free, any additional will cost $ 1 or pile on all the unlimited dinges– WMD(wafel of massive deliciousness) for $ 2. The gals who took our orders even entertained us for a bit when their generator broke down on the truck. They promised W&D will be getting sexier with the tunes of Barry White. Gotta love em’!

My wife is a huge W&F fan, and when we saw the truck in front of our train station, we nearly lost it. I’m glad they realized Queens is where it’s at on a Sunday and we’re now able to get our wafel fix without heading into Manhattan(not that there’s anything wrong with that *Seinfeld voice*).
