D.P. Dough opened its first location in Amherst, MA in 1987.
D.P. Dough in Athens, Ohio opened in 1999. It became an institution for late night delivery deliciousness at Ohio University shortly after.

Business Owner
Matt Crumpton has been a long time D.P. Dough fan. He first learned about D.P. Dough during his college career at Ohio University (class of 2004), where he ate «about 1 calzone a week».
«Really, one calzone a week is serious discipline at OU. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are all party nights. So, only ordering D.P. Dough once a week is basically like ordering it once every other week,» said Crumpton.
In 2010, when the opportunity was right, Matt quit his job as a business and entertainment attorney and dove in full time as a calzone enthusiast along with his mom (Kim) and dad (Mark). Today, the Crumptons own the national D.P. Dough franchise and keep a special place in their hearts for D.P. Dough Athens (which is the best one if you are keeping score at home).
