I love their pizza and all the other various meals I have tried over the years. Yes years I’ve been eating there since the late 70’s.

Great place. Had many meals here. The lunch salad and pizza buffet is one of the best deals in town. Rest of the menu is very affordable as well. Try their gyros. The reviews on here have a negative slant, but all you have to do is drive by this place at dinner time and see it packed every day to know that it’s a place the community loves.

They have the best grilled chicken salads in town. Their pizza is super good, too. That’s all I’ve had so I can’t say much about anything else.

Order a Gondolier Special based on their Web Site’s menu. When I got home it was no where near what was expected. The pizza on ly had ham, green pepper, onion an d cheese which is only 4 of the 10 toppings per their web site. Their web site does indicate that not all items are available at all sites but does not indicate that items may be made differently per site. When I called the location, their reasoning is that they make the Gondolier Special different at this site than is advertised on their web site. Given this and today’s technology you I would expect their menus to be based on the site and the staff tsking the order to ensure the customer knew what they were getting from thatt site at the time of the order. The staff was professional when I called after getting home with the pizza and they offered to replae it but it was a take out order and I had no intention of driving back to their store. In addition, the quality was mediocre at best. It lacked flavor and the crust was tough and rubbery. I will go back to getting pizza from papa john’s in the future.

First time here. Friend in Niota told me she comes here. We are new to the area. Very dark. But then they have all the blinds closed. Waitresses friendly. Good looking pizza and salad bar. Cheap buffet. I decided to order lasagna. Husband ordered pepperoni calzone. Both are under $ 6. But it doesnt come with a salad. Didnt ask if I could go to the salad bar. Lasagna miserably salty. Not very meaty. Chewey like leather. Needs garlic, onions and parsley. Never have I had a less tasteful lasagna. Tried a bite of husband’s calzone. He liked it. I thought it was awful. I will say it had a lot of pepperoni. I had hoped for better. Will not come back.

Ugh. My boyfriend took me here because he grew up eating at this place. He was super excited to bring me here so I tried to remain positive despite the unfriendly staff when we entered and the place looking kinda dark and dingy. I think the problem was that we decided to try something other than the pizza. I received a pasta dish that must have had a quart of salt poured on it. My boyfriend, who loves salty food, tried it and couldn’t even eat it. I would say it was probably the grossest meal I’ve ever had. I feel bad saying it but just being honest. I wanted to love a place where the locals ate and knew each other. But… no thanks. oh and our waitress was kinda crappy but that was the least of the problems.

I’ve been coming here for the past 20+ years, and there’s something to be said for a restaurant that stays busy and hasn’t changed throughout that entire time. It’s your classic Greek/Italian spaghetti and steakhouse. The best deal in Athens, by far, is their pizza/salad buffet Sun-Fri, and Sundays also includes a few random items WITH the pizza/salad(fried chicken, roast, potatoes/gravy, beans, etc…) and comes with drink and dessert for less than $ 7 a person. For less than $ 5, the pizza and salad buffet can be had during the week. There are about 20 or so lunch items that won’t put you back more than $ 7 after tip. Plus, they’re good and filling. The only items I’ve had that have not been impressive are the fried zuchinni appetizer and the baked spaghetti dinner entrée. Zuchinni tasted store-bought, and the baked spaghetti was rather runny. Other than that, it’s definitely an Athens staple and enjoyable. There is a large room that can be sectioned off to host a part of up to 40 – 50 people, it seems.
