Located right on the mighty Hudson, the restaurant at the Stewart House hotel went through a major spiffing up this summer and the food is extraordinary: eclectic, international, but with fresh, local ingredients — and reasonably priced. I like the place in the summer when you can eat outside but it’s also got a Cheers thing happening in the winter when the Athenians brave the snow to hang at the bar. I think the food is better here than in most of the more famous (and more pretentious) places in nearby Hudson. And Athens has charm.
