Yum… quite an original menu… sandwiches I never would have made for myself, but very delicious.

Shits legit bottom line, guy used to run sandwhiches next door always went there for lunch or after hours. Show him some love dude knows what he’s doing.

Lazy Shopper subs were good cause they didn’t do too much. This place isn’t good and my sandwhich was a big pile of ranch dressing and salt&pepper. Also, loud obnoxious rap music at 1pm? Not cool

Would I eat here sober? Probably not. But after a night of drinking downtown, there is nothing better than one of their sandwiches. I agree if you’re looking for professionalism this place may not be for you but that’s how they do things at LAY-​Z shopper and if you don’t like it don’t go. Overall Felix and his crew are always an interesting time and they know how to make a sandwich. Definitely stumble in there at 2:30am when you want to munch.

Lazy Shopper subs used to be my favorite sandwiches in Athens, but moving the sandwich operations next door to R U Hungry has seriously affected the sandwich quality. The portions of meat, cheese, vegetables, and condiments have been cut in half; the bread is not as good as the kind used at Lazy; and the sandwiches are about a dollar more expensive than before. Not to mention a much longer wait. Also, every time I have gotten a cold cut sub or fat sandwich, there has been at least one major ingredient that they left out. I will not be buying any food here until the portions are back the way they used to be. I miss the convenient store environment of having the deli in Lazy too. Now it’s just a lifeless space with employees who don’t know what they’re doing. Move the cold cuts back to Lazy Shopper ASAP please.

New sandwich shop in Athens. The guy who took my order seemed to be spaced out and wasn’t the most professional; the guy who brought out the food to me was more professional. The interior is weird, an ugly teal paint on the walls with intermittent UGA football decorations.
As for the food, it’s ok. My gyro cost $ 6 tax included, which makes it one of the cheaper options downtown. It is indeed cut fresh from a vertical grill, as opposed to taken from some non-​fresh source. The additional toppings are passable though the lettuce was clearly your standard bagged stuff. The food quality is around 3.5 star range. I am rounding down in part due to their naming of some of their sandwiches – calling a sandwich «Fat (Female Dog)» isn’t the most appealing or professional decision, though I suppose some will disagree.
The experience was ok but forgettable.
