Shenanigans Salon

I am relatively new to the area and desperately needed a good haircut so used Unilocal to find a salon with great reviews. Since I work weekdays, I made an appointment for the following Saturday morning and asked for a reminder call. Not receiving a call should have served as warning, but I chalked it up to a minor oversight on their part. Obviously, it was a huge «oversight» on their part because I called to confirm my appt as I was driving into town and Morgan had never heard of me. In fact, she stammered around and tried blaming the computer. She made no effort to squeeze me in and kept offering appointments on other days though I reiterated several times that I needed a hair cut today.
I sort of wonder if I got bumped for «H***** with her cut and color» who took my time slot, because color jobs are more profitable?
The whole point of making an appointment with a salon is so that you can plan your own busy life around this kind of first world nonsense. I had planned a long series of errands, meetings, and social engagements around it. Their business is completely based upon our need to look presentable and professional, if not absolutely beautiful. They did not deliver.
Unfortunately, Shenanigans is not a very professional salon and cannot be depended on.

The Best in Athens
I went to four salons in Athens before I found Shenanigans. The other places were snotty, rude, expensive, and banal. I get a much better cut for a much better price and Jessica and Beth can actually hold a conversation. Not only do I always get a great haircut (and if you have curly or wavy hair, you know what a big deal that is) but I like that my money goes to support to hard-​working ladies trying to kick off a small business and who also donate their services to various charities, like Locks of Love. Go see Beth and Jessica, you won’t regret it.

New to Athens and in need of someone to tame my curly hair so I gave Beth at Shenanagans a try. I bombarded her with «dos and don’ts» for my hair (and if your hair is curly you understand!) She really listened and I left with one of the best haircuts I’ve had in my life. Been back several times now and the story is the same. Beth is funny, easy to talk to and a great stylist. Price is on par with other salons.

I love Shenanigans Salon! Beth is my amazing stylist and I look forward to seeing her every time I visit. She is honest and I value her opinion on my cut and color. She understands my style and gives excellent advice on what I should do. Josh is also fabulous (love his shampoo washes– great massage!) and I enjoy the overall atmosphere. I get compliments on my hair all the time, whether it be the cut or the color or both. I would recommend anyone to Beth– she knows what she’s doing. Normally, I am a very picky customer, especially when it comes to my hair but I completely trust Beth.

Joanna is so wonderful! I book with her when I not only need a haircut, but when I’d really love some great conversation! I feel that Joanna really takes her time to make sure she does the perfect job, and I’ve never had one complaint. In fact, I have quite the opposite reaction! Many people have stopped to ask me about my cut, and compliment me on my color. I would recommend her to anyone. I also love the laid back, Shenanigans atmosphere. I never get that stuffy/​snobby feeling you sometimes find at high end salons. Just the great service and quality! Book with Joanna… you’ll be so glad you did!

It may seem a little different and off the beaten path, but trust me, if you let the ladies here work their magic on your hair, you will not be sorry. I’m the type of girl who generally hates her haircut for the first week. I have always referred to this as my adjustment period. But my first experience here changed that. I not only liked the atmosphere and conversation, but for the first time in my life i actually LOVED my haircut from the moment it was complete, and for every moment after that. Beth is the most talented stylist i have ever met. Even when i slacked off and waited over a year between cuts i didn’t have even one bad hair day. Simply amazing. I won’t let anyone else touch my hair again. Give them a try and you’ll feel the same.
